@Experiment627 - as I said before, I love the TirTir, but you have to watch how Asian vloggers apply it before you try it or you won’t get a good idea of it’s magnificence. Although I’m post-meno and prefer a less “makeuppy” look than Tati. (I prefer the lighter coverage options - even tinted moisturiser as I feel they’re more flattering on aged faces like mine.)

ITookYourJoob · 21/10/2024 08:54

@Experiment627 I stopped watching Tati some time ago because of all the drama with the young guy and vitamin promotion (forgot his name). Her recommendations were quite good though. I’m currently using Nars light reflecting foundation and sadly can’t recommend it. I’m thinking about IT Cosmetics Cc cream, but it also has mixed reviews.

Some empties:

Lacura coconut shampoo: quite surprised by this. Smells like coconut but floral. Locks look lovely and silky and the smell lingers on hair. I would rp (once I finish what I have)

Hotel collection paradise beegamot amber and vanilla hand wash. Smells nice but it’s a bit drying. From Aldi. Would not rp.

Imperial leather mallow and rose milk. I think they rename their existing range so that you buy tyem thinking it’s something different. Exact smell as The marshmallow from the same brand. Does the job, nice bubbles, good price. Would rp.

Aquafresh grapefruit lemon and mint toothpaste. I bought when I was looking for alternatives to mi t. This is awful. No refreshing qualities. Won’t buy again.

Huggies wipes: staple

3 macaroon bath bombs that I don’t have a picture for.

I gave up on Tati when she started touting herself as a “Wellness Guru” and started greenwashing bullshit and also preaching potentially dangerous health advice. I think what she had to say about the young bloke was probably pretty true but at the same time he had been nurtured into becoming a sociopath by his instafame and lack of accountability by his family, adult friends, “the biz”, money, society and the culture where fame and acquisition is the new religion. He could only ever have been one broken little bunny and she was part of that very icky machine.
That whole machine where YouTube influencers were encouraged to give the impression that they were all besties and hung out together was so very, very sick. I had to hang up on the whole lot. Also, as an Aussie… just can’t relate to most of the dialogue or “kissy-kissyness”….

ITookYourJoob · 22/10/2024 10:02

@Fraaahnces Well said! Also, all that drama could’ve been resolved privately. There is only that much cringe I can handle 😅

Fraaahnces · 22/10/2024 14:04

Yeah… Super embarrassing

Experiment627 · 23/10/2024 11:21

@ItookYourJob ah yes Dramageddon - and the the chap was James Charles. Jen Luv has just done a 5 part YouTube series on him and Tati features quite a lot. It was very interesting viewing.

@Fraaahnces yes - I agree. BUT do not fear I am not planning on becoming part of the dark side of beauty 🙃 I do still watch her occasionally - but I do not know whether her reviews are actually her honest opinion anymore which defeats the object....

Um... I just tried the Ouai detox shampoo - was blooming amazing - not sure if I will ever be able to "go back" now...

I have an empty to report:

  • Aldi N01 lime, basil and mandarin hand wash - great dupe for the Jo Malone one at a fraction of the price.
