@Experiment627 - I think I have the same cold. My routine also gone out the window.

@LivingDeadGirlUK - same here. Skin was clear and then I had white wine which always seems to mean a flare up of my rosacea spots. Not sure if it’s all white wine.

I ended up flying to Dublin for a few days this week as my sister was very ill. She ended up having a liver transplant. So it’s been a very stressful week. And now I have a horrible cold. Trying to summon up the energy to have a shower and do my face routine as my skin feels horrible.

Realised that I am out of small size cleansers for travel so need to buy a couple.

Oh no. I hope she makes a good recovery.

Experiment627 · 17/12/2023 12:56

Thanks for all the well wishes 💜 I am feeling much better today 🙌🏼

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel hope you are better soon 💐 and you too @Peridot1
💐 and, oh my goodness, your poor sister! Really hope the transplant has gone well 💜

@Peridot1 I’m sorry your sister has been so unwell. She is very lucky to have a lovely sister to be there for her. I hope she recovers quickly and finds a new lease on life.
To everyone with the lurgy, please treat yourselves kindly and don’t push for too much too soon. There are some serious viruses about atm.

PomsRun · 17/12/2023 15:18

@Peridot1 wishing your sister a good recovery. How difficult for you all, hope for calmer times soon.

Also hope everyone gets well soon and skin improves - another week of wine and rich food then we can fast (well maybe).

LivingDeadGirlUK · 17/12/2023 17:30

A witch hazel stick finished, I've got a tea tree spot treatment to try next, not convinced any of these spot treatments work but its worth a shot!

Experiment627 · 18/12/2023 20:26

@LivingDeadGirlUK have you tried the Succinic Acid thing from The Inkey List? Smells rank but seems to work on my spots.

MidnightMeltdown · 18/12/2023 21:48

Thanks @Fraaahnces 😊

I've never tried any k beauty before so thought that this might be a good introduction to the brand. There was a discount code so it worked out at just over £130ish I think, which didn't seem too bad for all those products!

It's going to be a long, long time before I need to buy anything now....

Babysharkdoodoodood · 18/12/2023 23:13

@LivingDeadGirlUK The best spot treatment I've found is by Murad. Rapid relief. Pricey but lasts for ages. Seems to work magic overnight, especially on the sore lumpy cyst like ones that refuse to come to a head.

Fraaahnces · 19/12/2023 02:21

@MidnightMeltdown - must confess am a bit jealous!!! Merry Christmas every single day!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/12/2023 13:29

Thanks for the tips ladies, I will give those a try.

Soap and Glory full size call of fruity hand cream finished, I love the smell of this and prefer it to the hand food, but a fair few to get through in the stash first.

listsandbudgets · 20/12/2023 20:25

A few empties

Florentyna talc power.. I've loved thisnscent since my gran got me the bubble bath in my teens..DD says it's old lady style bur i don't care i will be topping up once i've finished the other one from my stash that is

this Works sleep pillow spray.. to be fair it does work but got quite a few pillow sprays so repurchase will need to wait

Alerto balsam apple conditioner.. an absolute staple will get more but not immediately

yet another bottle of centre points citrus shower gel.. ine day i will get through it all. Only been there twice but seem to have enormous pile of the stuff

CorneliaStreet · 23/12/2023 10:11

Some more empties:

Lumene Nordic Hydra oat milk oil cleanser - 150ml. This has a milky rather than an oil consistency but it got all make up with no effort and felt very gentle, so would probably be good for someone with sensitive skin. I do love a nice cleansing balm though, and this felt a bit utilitarian in comparison.

Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing rice overnight mask - 60ml. Anything with rice in seems to feel really soothing on my skin. This was very nice, though I think I prefer the Laniege water sleeping mask as that one is a bit lighter weight.

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing facial pads - 14 pads. These made my face tingle a bit but didn’t seem to do much else. I’m also not keen on the single use pad thing.

BYBI Bright Eyed eye cream - 15ml. The morning counterpart to the evening one I finished last week. This is a peachy colour, like the Ren brightening eye cream and any brightening effect probably comes from that. Also pills a bit.

M&S Midnight Blossom EDT - 30ml. A deep floral, kind of in the same vein as Black Opium but nowhere near as strong and long lasting. It was ok, particularly for the price, but wouldn’t repurchase.

Body Shop Shea shower cream - 250ml. This was really thick and creamy, worked really well for shaving my legs.

Dove macadamia and rice milk body scrub - 225ml. This has been a staple for me for a while. It’s good, but I now prefer the Soap & Glory breakfast scrub, as that smells better and you need less so it lasts longer.

This morning I've thrown our 2 empty perfume samples guerlain and miss dior. I am absolutely on a no spend on beauty/skin care next yr til I use things up though I know I'm getting some for Christmas so that will be added

Buster27 · 23/12/2023 16:54

A few empties to take me over my year's target!

L'Oréal Elvive hyaluronic shampoo - like this but have been using for ages and bored of it now. This is my last bottle of it so on to something new now! Might rebuy in future.

L'Oréal Elvive extraordinary oil conditioner - fine but nothing special. Won't rebuy.

Body Shop vitamin E face wash - probably my favourite face wash, will buy again unless I prefer something in my current stash.

Omorovicza Moor cream cleanser - I would have liked this as a face mask but as a cleanser it was just too messy for me. Won't buy.

Summer Fridays jet lag mask - I liked this enough that I repurchased but now can't find the second one! I liked this as an overnight mask.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas to everyone and to those with health issues may 2024 bring health to you and your loved ones 😍. Hopefully everyone gets back on track 💐.

Some empties. I didn’t think I would be posting today but since it’s been a bit of a shitty day here I am.

Deliplus Cherry blossom bath salts. Lovely intense smell. Bought in Mercadona. Sadly discontinued. Would rp though.

soap and glory clean on me body wash. I was taken aback by the smell tof this. Pretty similar to Coco Mademoiselle, so if you want to make it last longer I would use this. Pleasantly surprised. Would RP.

Lacura exfoliating face wash. Staple. I use mainly when showering. Rped already.

Mason and miller shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. Nothing good to say about them other than they keep my DC entertained at bath time. Terrible as if you were using dish soap on your skin.

Some samples by Be+ (smells nice) apivita wine elixir (despite saying light is quite thick and difficult to apply, don’t like the smell) sisleya lotion ( did nothing for me)

Childs farm hair and body wash. For hair does not work, for body is okeish. I did not like it and my children either. Won’t rp.

Happy naturals body wash. Interesting smell, lathers ok. Bought from TKmaxx and I have other options to try. Won’t Rp.

Tonocrem almond oil. Quite thick and nice. I have plenty more to use up. I would not Rp at this point.

CorneliaStreet · 25/12/2023 08:54

Happy Christmas, everyone. Hope you get some lovely treats. I’ve already had a load more perfume, hand cream and lip balm!

Peridot1 · 25/12/2023 09:20

Merry Christmas to you all. I will have some skin care presents to open as they were on my wish list but I haven’t bought anything else. And not planning to!

Hope you all have a wonderful day. 🎄🎄🎄

OchonAgusOchonOh · 25/12/2023 09:54

Happy Christmas all.

Fraaahnces · 26/12/2023 04:02

I feel like a spoiled brat atm… In Aus we have two major beauty stores… Mecca and Sephora. I was given two gift cards for Mecca, which added to the one I received for my birthday in July, is not insignificant. There is nothing at all that interests me there. I could easily blow it at Sephora though…. Thinking Charlotte Tilbury products need exploring. Any favourites?

PomsRun · 26/12/2023 08:32

Merry Christmas 🎄 hope everyone had a lovely day.

@Fraaahnces ive been disappointed with every Charlotte Tilbury product I’ve used (mascara, lipstick - dry, eyebrow gel, face cream - like Nivea). I think the eyeshadow palette is ok.
is there a Laura Mercier in Mecca? Or Bobbi Brown? Think these are much better brands.

Peridot1 · 26/12/2023 08:46

@Fraaahnces - I love Mecca. Could definitely spend money there! I haven’t used much Charlotte Tilbury really but I do really like the Magic Lip Oil. I like Tatcha which is stocked at Mecca.
