Products you loved that were discontinued!

So I was thinking the other day about products that I miss that were discontinued & wished were still available. I have finally found a couple of good substitutes for a couple of them.

Boots Style Works Heat Protection Serum - this was just brilliant & at at low price.
Sub- Wella Deluxe Style Rescue Pre-Styling Serum, very impressed but pricey.

Seventeen BB Blemish Balm - It was amazing, I didn’t wear foundation for about year!

Boots CYO Lifeproof Foundation - just so good.
sub - this goes for Seventeens BB as well, it’s Nars Tinted Moisturiser, it’s absolutely brilliant, it should be at the price as well!

Seventeen Eyebrow Pencil - natural looking brows, really good colour.

Boots CYO On A Roll Mascara - brilliant. Still can’t find a sub.

There’s probably more but can’t think of them at the moment!

Aldi’s Caviar day/night creams - so hit and miss finding stock that I’m going to take another posters advice and never buy skincare from them again. It’s so disappointing when you find a product you like as then they discontinue it or supply is very erratic.

When I was growing up in the late 1980's and early 1990's there was a foundation that was sold in most pharmacies and I can't remember if it was from the brand 17 or No. 7 but I think there was a number in the brand. Anyway, the foundation was in these stainless steel canisters and it was mousse (very similar to the consistency of hair mousse) but you'd squirt it out onto an applicator sponge and then apply to your face.
It was so lightweight as a foundation but gave great coverage. I miss that product.

Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow nail brightner.

I stopped buying from Avon years ago when they discontinued a mascara that I really liked and a lipstick and a lip tint in colours I could no longer get.

I used to buy quite a bit from them at the time too. Really annoying 😠

Anne French Cleansing milk - I used it from being 13 until they discontinued it in the last couple of years. I’m now 50

Avon skin so soft oil.

there was a perfume I was bought in the mid 90s but I can’t remember the name. It was in a pale blue bottle with an underwater theme - I think maybe had Pearls as a bottle decoration. I’ve not been able to find it since.

Agreed @Nearlyadoctor I miss Anne French Cleanser too. However I recently got some face wipes from my daughter and they really smell and work like the AF Cleansing milk.

@MissCherryCakeyBun - ooh which ones are they? I can’t find a milky enough milk since, the closest I’ve got is ESPA but still too thick. Generally use micellar water now instead and a decent night cream.

Lovely scented deodorants of the 90s. Can’t think of the names... But you know the ones! Always in colourful cans. Body mists were great too. Recently bought some Impulse & was delighted to discover it’s still the same (but not as strong).

Clinique super city block. I’ve used it for years. The product they’ve replaced it with feels horrible and sticky and resulted in my face suffering sun burn.

Ocean dream, it has a little sand dollar in a metal ring round the neck and it smelled gorgeous - looks like you can still buy it

Yes! "Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow nails nail whitener" . It made natural nails look pinker and whiter.

Revlon 3 day lash tint. Its been gone 14 years and I still check for it on the Revlon stand.

Can't remember exact name - John Frieda Blonde Streaks? Such a good product for natural looking highlights, easy to use. Tried Loreal Sunkiss jelly which is ok but not nearly as good and now even that doesn't seem to be available.

Vichy do a wonderful tinted moisturiser - Lumineuse - for dry skin in the perfect shade for me. Sadly they discontinued the fair shade 00, and the next one is far too dark.

I think I’m going to order the 50ml size but 11.99 seems quite cheap, I remember it being more expensive

Bourjois ten hour sleep effect foundation, I loved it, you can get it on eBay but I need to find something else similar that isn't going to run out, I'm still searching.

The shampoo and conditioner you got in the 90s. Big plastic bottles. Think it was Loreal or wella. I absolutely loved them and the smell.

I used to love the Monsoon perfume in the nineties, it was in a blue glass bottle with a kind of pointed gold top. I loved it but no longer available except for the odd ancient bottle for sale on ebay.

Pro Tec Sun - haircare for holidays, it was so good. Haven’t seen it for years :(.

Bobbi Brown cream shadows in the pots. The sticks aren’t as good, not as much product and don’t have the staying power. Much more limited colour range too.

Not sure if they are making it again but Boujois has been restocked in Boots and in Superdrug in case you're interested. Probably not their full range as previously available but it's back!
