So I was thinking the other day about products that I miss that were discontinued & wished were still available. I have finally found a couple of good substitutes for a couple of them.

Boots Style Works Heat Protection Serum - this was just brilliant & at at low price.
Sub- Wella Deluxe Style Rescue Pre-Styling Serum, very impressed but pricey.

Seventeen BB Blemish Balm - It was amazing, I didn’t wear foundation for about year!

Boots CYO Lifeproof Foundation - just so good.
sub - this goes for Seventeens BB as well, it’s Nars Tinted Moisturiser, it’s absolutely brilliant, it should be at the price as well!

Seventeen Eyebrow Pencil - natural looking brows, really good colour.

Boots CYO On A Roll Mascara - brilliant. Still can’t find a sub.

There’s probably more but can’t think of them at the moment!

@MissCherryCakeyBun thanks so much, I'll have to see if I can find them.

slobadobber67 · 08/01/2023 07:55

There was a perfume Max Factor did many years ago called Geminesse, I loved it and have never found anything since that smells remotely like it.

I’m still annoyed with Benefit about the discontinuation of Benebalm lip tint.
I still miss Mary Quant’s Havoc, even though it’s not been around for decades.
Body Shop Ginger range. I love the smell of ginger.
And yes to PPs who have mentioned Barbara Daly’s Face Lift. From Tesco, and it was amazing.

@SirVixofVixHall I can confirm that the Clinique Calyx is identical to the Prescriptives one. I bought a couple of big bottles 3-4 years ago in the Christmas sales and my last one is going strong. The scent lasts well, so don't need to use much.

Clinique Gentle Light foundation! Absolutely brilliant. Still miss it (think it was discontinued around 2010?)

Aldi’s Caviar day/night creams - so hit and miss finding stock that I’m going to take another posters advice and never buy skincare from them again. It’s so disappointing when you find a product you like as then they discontinue it or supply is very erratic.

I've got a caviar day cream. Used literally only once and I don't like it. Happy to send it to you for the price of postage if you like.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor,
Body Shop still have a ginger range.

Thanks, but I think it’s mostly hair products.
It’s the shower and body stuff I liked, particularly the BodyYogurt.

BettyBe · 08/01/2023 08:48

I loved the Dewberry, Fuzzy peach and Amaya range at the Body Shop.

Miss all of these perfumes, Les Belles de Ricci (green bottle with pink lid), Midnight Poison by Dior, Ma Cherie also by Dior, Naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood. Loulou Blue by Cacharel it looked exactly the same as Loulou but had a dark blue bottle. Deci Dela by Nina Ricci.

Almay make up, especially full and soft mascara. I used to buy a lot of make up from them.

Almay is still available in the US......you could visit.

I’ve remembered another one, I’m sure it was the Botanics range in Boots, think it was BB radiant youth or something like that, it was brill, I think they’ve replaced it with a glowy thing but it’s nowhere near the same. It’s so frustrating when you find something that’s so good, really suits you & they discontinue it!

ToootToot ·

Yes! Waitrose baby bottom butter, I loved that. It was fab to use on my feet, made them feel so soft and moisturised. Don't go to Waitrose that often but I still look to see if by some miracle it's back in the store.

Sadly not though 😔

MintyGreenDreams · 08/01/2023 10:45

Armani Gio perfume.
Bourjois face tanning gel.it was a light tint make up.

UglyBeauty · 08/01/2023 10:46

ToootToot I was coming on to say Baby Bottom Butter too! So handy for very dry skin. Has anyone ever found a substitute - I think it was just solid olive oil and vanilla?

MintyGreenDreams · 08/01/2023 10:46

And nip and fab glycolic mask.fuming about that one
.

LadyEloise1 · 08/01/2023 10:58

@User2346 I still have a bottle of Barbara Daly's No more Yellow nail stuff.
I'm saving it 😂
Meanwhile my nails are yellow as I don't use a base coat. Blush

MissCherryCakeyBun · 07/01/2023 23:47

@Nearlyadoctor @lipstickwoman @frazzled101 these are the face wipes that smell and work very much like the Anne French Cleansing Milk we all used to love

They're the ones I use.. I like them, and their smell, but not as gentle as good old Anne French

MissBattleaxe · 08/01/2023 11:06

@HappyHogan Avon still does Skin So Soft dry oil. Make sure you buy Original as that used to be Soft Fern, which was the first and best.

LUSH still sells Ginger perfume, they've just brought it back.

I miss The Body Shop: Raspberry Ripple Bathing Bubbles, Elderflower eye gel, Ice Blue Shampoo, ALL The Perfume Bar oils and the glycerine soaps that smelled incredible. It's in different hands now and is just an overpriced Body Butter shop now, sadly. Plus they keep messing with White Musk and I'm not amused.

Boots used to do a gorgeous shampoo called Sea Minerals. The smell was gorgeous but it's long gone. I also really miss Gucci Envy. It's madness that they won't bring it back. I wrote a blog article about how much I missed it and it had 42,000 hits!

LlynTegid · 08/01/2023 11:15

TCP in ointment form. Worked wonders when needed.

BroccliSpears · 08/01/2023 11:27

Nina Ricci Deci Dela
Nina Ricci Les Belles de Ricci
Clinique Simply perfume
Clinique Gentle Light powder

and a more recent one
Estée Lauder Double Wear Light foundation. I haven't come across anyone who prefers the replacement. Too sheer.

BroccliSpears · 08/01/2023 11:29

One from my youth that I'd love to smell again - Aqua Manda perfume

Friendlyplover · 08/01/2023 11:44

Becca Backlight Primer! Just as I discovered this wondrous product and loved it/used it daily, they went bust!! Argh. Never found a good match for it.

lipstickwoman · 08/01/2023 12:27

Yes @BroccliSpears the Estée Lauder water fresh or whatever. It had the perfect colour and finish. Why why why

JoanThursday · 08/01/2023 13:06

Thought of another one: Tendre Poison perfume in the green bottle. That was lovely.

FanniesFlaps · 08/01/2023 13:13

Smashbox did an amazing powder eyeliner that didn’t budge even on my greasy eyelids. I was really upset when they discontinued it.

I tried the no.7 one but it was nowhere near as good.
