Following on from Week 1, \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=149556&stamp=060306150312\here}, welcome to week 2 of WWW's ten years younger plan. The rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well
Lots of water
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night

Good Luck to You.

ok here i am, my goals are:

booze - alcohol free sunday to wednesday. thursday to saturday no more than 2 glasses.
diet - 5 portions fruit and veg per day
water - 2 litres per day
sunscreen - yes
make up off before bed - yes plus deep moisturising
sleep - in bed by 10.30 (so how am i going to watch ER tonight???)

and i'm going to add a couple:

smoking - establish date for giving up, get support from local nhs anti-smoking bods
hands & feet - deep moisturise every day

i'm not doing an exercise related goal. i use public transport 6 days/week and do a fair bit of walking anyway.

thanks for starting this, www, i'm finding it useful Smile

This is the worst time of day for me. I've just picked up dd from school, she starts playing up, (release from a day of being good I guess) and making all sorts of demands, and so does ds, which makes me reach for the caffeine and sugar to tone down my grumpiness (never works, natch. No doubt it helps fuel it). Grrrr. Couldn't do my exercise DVD as ds has also decided over the last few days to cut out his daytime nap, so I'm praying for better weather soon so that I can at least go out for a walk occasionally.

Grumble grumble grumble.

Still have eaten quite well, just need to stop myself looking for a sugar fix now...

CountessDracula · 06/03/2006 16:07

WWW I managed to cram in a biscuit between the last thread and this so it doesn't count, right? Grin

WideWebWitch · 06/03/2006 16:09

No, you're quite right cd, it doesn't count. Nor do all my indiscretions on thread 1. They are In The Past.

Have been quite good so far today. Healthy but tasty food for breakfast and lunch, apple and a few squares of green and black dark chocolate for snack. Thai salad planned for dinner. Lots of cycling too as have been out and about for work today. And greased up feet with badger heel balm before going to work too. Applied inferior moisturiser with spf but feel this is excusable as have ordered sunscreen as advised. Only need to glug some more water to qualify for a "super virtuous" badge, I think. You are awarding badges, aren't you, www?

WideWebWitch · 06/03/2006 17:51

yeah, yeah Scummy, that's right, I am Grin

This is the \link{http://www.luckyvitamin.com/634084025125.html\badger balm}, moondog.. Quite nice actually, especially the picture on the tin.

WideWebWitch · 06/03/2006 18:07

\link{http://www.thewiccanswhisper.co.uk/badges/bad6a.jpg\Scummy, a badge for you!} Ds used to call badges 'badgers' it was sweet.

Ah,lol
I thought it was a name you'd made up yourself to denote scaliness of your appendages!

ScummyMummy · 06/03/2006 18:08

Love it, www.:)

ScummyMummy · 06/03/2006 18:09

No moondog! My feet are not lovely admittedly but I have not quite got to that stage of despair over them yet.

SorenLorensen · 06/03/2006 18:10

I like the Badger sleep balm.

winnie · 06/03/2006 19:57

All going well EXCEPT I ate too much dinner. Made lush mushroom bake and ate far too much also had a small bowl of Green and Blacks vanilla icecream Blush

Still drinking 2 litres + of water a day.
Still eating 5+ portions of fruit and veg.
Still taking makeup off and wearing suncream and handcream. I feel as if this is the start of some really good habits.

Am salsa dancing later once ds is in bed.

BudaBabe · 06/03/2006 20:21

Well stuck to the make-up off before bed last week.

Stuck to no alchohol from Mon-Fri lat week.

"Did" feet a few times so they were not too bad.

But DS was off school today and everything seemed to go pear-shaped. Even had wine. DH cooked a fab Thai fried rice - I ate LOADS.

But I have to say I am thinking more about what I eat and drink so that has to be good right???

Have three nights out this week though!!!

Have booked manicure and pedicure for Thursday!

Today I've had:
-water and lemon, porridge with pear, half a kiwi, green tea for breakfast
-humus with carrot and cucumber sticks and one slice of German rye bread for lunch
-sardines, tomato and lentil soup, green salad and a pear for dinner.

Probably haven't drunk enough water but still more than usual! Also did my jogging today.

Need to remember to go to bed early, within the hour now, and to take make up off before I do so!

So all in all a good day! Now the trick is to carry on like this for the rest of the week...

Good luck to you all

WideWebWitch · 07/03/2006 07:03

Sorry, sorry, sorry, \link{http://www.thewiccanswhisper.co.uk/badges/bad1a.jpg\here's a badge for batters and everyone else who's been good. I'm trusting you to only take one if you have}

OP posts:
suzywong · 07/03/2006 08:01

ok, starting again in earnest:
Special K
iced mocha
8 pieces of salmon sushi
lots of water
peppermint and green tea
and it's 4pm
will have some green and black's milk choc - a real delicacy here and hard to get
and some tofu and vegetables with sweet chilli sauce for dinner

then going to the movies with dh tonight and I may take in a hip flask of gin and orange. Cos I am a classy bird

I was in bed by by 10.30pm last night but MIL in the next door bedroom has taken to playing Oriental folk songs on her cd player to fall to sleep by. It's like being on the set of Blade Runner. Got to sleep at 11.30.

Got another bike ride planned tonight.

ButternuSquash's insides must be gleaming
Good Luck to You

Thanks for this new thread WWW - I need to start again properly now that DD's birthday is out of the way. I will write off the second half of yesterday and begin again on the path to youthfulness.

Weetabix, banana and a coffee for breakfast.
Chicken with borlotti beans and cabbage for lunch (sounds foul but is delicious and virtuous).
Tuna with spelt, rye and seed crackers for tea.
Will eat fruit and drink gallons of water.

What eyecream do you recommend?

suzywong · 07/03/2006 15:27

I tell you what I needed that hip-flask to get through 2 hours of Syriana

I didn't eat all my tofu as I have come to the conculsion that unless it's fried, crispy-crumb-coated or slathered in ketchup it is dis-gutstin

moondog · 07/03/2006 15:37

Run 5k in the gym and did all my weights.
The iPod is great-really keeps me going.
I've learnt that the heavy aggressive stuff is good for running (AC/DC The Who Led Zepp) and frivolous funk is excellent for the other stuff.
Sticky moment however when I realised that dh had downloaded other people doing Kool&The Gang mumbers.
Thus was subjected to Lulu's version od 'Celebration' and Li'l Kim exhorting me to 'Get down witcha all' on a very odd version of 'Get down on it'

Ludicrous 80s synth heavy numbers are fun too.
'Eye of the Tiger' and 'Jump' Van Halen have me wetting myself.

Muesli for breakfast
Dahl for lunch
Sardines and tomatoes on wholemeal toast for dinner with freshly squeezed pomegranate juice.

Wish my hands were better.Despite moisturising religiously, the fact that I am constantly wiping faces, bums, tables and floors doesn't help in my quest for silken paws.

moondog · 07/03/2006 15:37

No yoyo, that sounds like a nice lunch!
