Following on from Week 1, \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=149556&stamp=060306150312\here}, welcome to week 2 of WWW's ten years younger plan. The rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well
Lots of water
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night

Good Luck to You.

Who was doing "Cherish"?

You'd like Syriana, Moondog, right you your alley I suspect

By the way I have forgotten the fun poking at the thryoidally afflicted

moondog · 07/03/2006 15:42

Oh glad there are no hard feelings.Blush again

Don't have 'Cherish'..hmm there's a thought,i might ask him to sort it to see who has applied their skills in that area. i'm thinking someone like celine dion or mariah carey (shudder)
yeah,i like the sound of syriana

yoyo · 07/03/2006 16:20

Moondog - if you find anything that works for hands do let us know. I have been using Clarins stuff with little success (have even started wearing Marigolds!). I think Crabtree&Evelyn do some sort of hand saver kit which I might have to try. My hands look like an old woman's at the moment - scaly and frequently bleeding.

winnie · 07/03/2006 16:29

yoyo, I would recommend Neal's yard Melissa handcream.

I am feeling good and everything is going well.
My stomach muscles are rebeling following the yoga... didn'tknow I had stomach muscles to be honest Blush

My skin looks much better.

I've run out of cleanser too and had to order more!

And my nails seem to be really healthy and strong. I've always used handcream (after gardening etc) but am using it religiously thanks to these threads.

Good luck this week every one.

moonshine · 07/03/2006 16:30

One of the best things I've used on my reptile-hands recently is the palmer's cocoa butter concentrated cream (you can buy it in tubes). But can't wait for the end of this cold weather because it plays havoc with my skin. My hooves also need some serious attention now. It's going to take more than a bit of cream on those 'beauties'.

Couscous, chicken and crudites for lunch for me, about a litre of water so far (should be more by now) but still can't get out to do some bleedin' exercise - feel very frustrated.

A question for all of you who put on sun-protection: how many times a day to you apply it??

WideWebWitch · 07/03/2006 17:17

Wow, well done everyone. Suzy, ha ha ha at your mil and the thoguht of needing gin and orange to get through Syriana, it was medicinal I think. I have had a tough day today so I have bought M&S lamb in pine nuts for supper and wine. Had toast for breakfast, chicken fajitas for lunch, not so good. And no exercise but lots of water.

LadyG · 07/03/2006 19:57

Foul weather so only 15 min walk
Porridge for breakfast, no lunch but snacked on fruit and nuts all day.
Veggie soup for supper
Oh dear-2 cappuccinos? How to kick caffeine habit???

Callmemadam · 07/03/2006 20:15

WWW can I join too? I so need to look 10 years younger - it'd bring me a bit nearer all the young and groovy mums in DD4's nursery class Grin. Had 2 days off booze last week, trying for 3 this week, starting today. Have no wine in house so That Must Be Good. Have substituted wine for serious out of control Cappucino habit _ just bought gaggia machine so I can get fix without leaving house - so That Must be Bad. Score = zero. Sigh. (Brightens up).... did walk the dog and am eating tuna tonight but have no nail polish on and have not waxed legs in months. How much water? And why, please why did I buy digital scales in the sales which tell me I am 10s4lb when I have lived with my battered ones for years telling me what I wanted to hear - although you had to creep up on them in a certain position on the floorboard, and then tilt to your left to get the best reading....could really use the encouragement from MN

ButternutSquash · 07/03/2006 20:21

Ha ha I don't know if my insides are gleaming yet Grin but I do feel very good at the moment. And my skin is looking much better.

No exercise today as stayed at home with sick dd. Might do my yogalates video in a while tho.

Food wise have been good again, have started again doing WW-lite. And last night was in bed by 11, which is quite early for me.

Love the badge, www!

Well done everyone, and good luck to you all. Smile

moondog · 07/03/2006 20:38

Suzy, thanks to you, can't shake the auditory hallucination/nightmare that is bloody 'Cherish'.
Thanks for nuttin'!
Angry

Callmemadam · 07/03/2006 22:40

I have had muesli for brek, 3 strong skinny cappucinos, large bowl of homemade lentil soup with bread, i choc biscuit, and tonight had tuna steak with roasted veg, but ate late (9.15) and also ate lots of veg so now feel v v full. Am HUGELY depressed reading how much Moondog doesn't eat compared to me Grin

moondog · 07/03/2006 23:19

CMM..I didn't mention portion size!
I eat plenty,me!

Blackduck · 08/03/2006 08:14

Yesterday was pretty good - working away so no temptations...
Slice of toast
Hummus and pepper sarnie
Thai red curry (home made...)
Still not enough water thou'...
DP bought an exercise bike at the weekend so might give that a bash today!

What's with the feet thing then Batters? Why does one look odd?

yoyo · 08/03/2006 09:43

Had a really good day yesterday. Ate really healthily and had no alcohol and feel great this morning. I think my tolerance to alcohol is declining which might not be a bad thing. I don't really have hangovers but I feel really down if I've had more than a couple of glasses. Perhaps it is psychological too. DH and I often say that we should move to more expensive stuff and stick to a couple of glasses a couple of times a week.

I am going to make a leek and bean soup for lunch and some sort of chicken casserole for tea.

I recommend the Bergen bread with linseeds - it is really delicious (even DH eschewed his white toast in favour of it!).

Am going to wear cotton gloves all day to try and sort out my hands. Will give the Neal's Yard cream a go when I am in town next.

batters that sounds really odd - sure you haven't got an infection?

suzywong · 08/03/2006 10:23

we are doing very well indeed
I had buckwheat blueberry pancake for breakfast
and then I took ds2 to the zoo and got so ravenous I stopped at Burger King on the way home and got a whopper, but they forgot my 7UP which was good, but dear ladies, it was vile so I only ate the meat and one half of the bun and no fries, and had noodles for lunch and am now eating a T bone steak with red wine and cream sauce but no carbs

I am going to pick up a Geri Haliwell yoga dvd I won on Ebay tonight, if that isn't pennance enough for the Junk Food I don't know what is

CountessDracula · 08/03/2006 10:28

I had a good day yesterday too

Grape nuts for breakfast
Boiled egg for lunch and an apple and an orange
Chile and rice for dinner but only a little
No booze

Did 20 mins on the fab new exercise bike and 120 situps and some stretches

Also this am have started drinking a glass of hot water with lemon juice in first thing as have heard this is good for clearing out all the grot in your system

CountessDracula · 08/03/2006 10:31

BTW I was thinking of cancelling my gym membership now as I have a bike at home and dh has some dumbells so can do arms too. My usual exercise for the day is

Walk v briskly to nursery with dd in buggy, 25 mins incl walking back to the station. 10 min walk to work at other end. Try and get out for a wander at lunchtime too. Now 20 mins on bike in evening + situps. Also some morns/eves walk the dog for 45 mins. Weekends lots of dog walking and general rushing around.

Do you think that is enough? Bear in mind am trying to lose weight, so should I try and keep up the gym too for a while?

moondog · 08/03/2006 10:53

CD that sounds good to me.
Do you wear a pedometer?
Suzy, that is shameful, and am astounded at your Gerri Halliwell tolerance threshold.
Seriously,Mariah Carey doind an extended version of Cherish would be infinitely more tolerable.

suzywong · 08/03/2006 10:56

it was in a bulk lot, I didn't bid on it specifically

I am considering getting the new Mariah Carey CD actually. Gotta be worth a listen

CountessDracula · 08/03/2006 10:57

No maybe I should get one

moondog · 08/03/2006 11:00

People who I know with one say it really spurs them on to do things like walk an extra block or flight of stairs to get up to recommended quota.

I've got one but can't figure out how to programme it.I can't be doing with boooooooring manuals and leaflets zzzzzzzz I'll ask the fish bloke when he calls presently. He likes me. Smile

Suzy....Shock
