Following on from Week 1, \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2350&threadid=149556&stamp=060306150312\here}, welcome to week 2 of WWW's ten years younger plan. The rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well
Lots of water
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night

Good Luck to You.

It was me.:) Only what you deserve- your recommendations must be keeping them in business at the moment!
Feeling sick as I have eaten too much tonight through pure greed.

moondog · 10/03/2006 20:52

Gym trip
2 mile walk (cancelled putative jog-wa getting silly.)

Muesli,yoghurt,banana
Beef salad roll
Apricots
Grapes
Mango
Kipper (seems odd that-surely should always be in the plural, rather like trousers or scissors??)
steamed spinach,brown rice

Can you tell that I am a joyless Luddite??
Grin

ScummyMummy · 10/03/2006 20:53

A virtuous day indeed, md.:)

yoyo · 10/03/2006 21:10

WickedWaterWitch - I was thinking of you as I read this month's Good Housekeeping as there is a feature on how to stay slim but still eat cheese and chocolate and drink wine! It is all in portion control wouldn't you know? It must be so boring writing these articles - there are only a finite number of ways to say eat less and exercise more after all.

This thread is keeping me on the Straight(ish) and narrow though. Have never drunk so much water or paid so much attention to all-over moisturising. I have definitely been eating less chocolate which is probably because I have cut down on the coffee (choc and a glass of water doesn't appeal). My meals are usually good and I have been having fruit for pud. Have cut down on the alcohol but haven't managed to give it up completely. Have also had some very early nights.

Moondog - you are beginning to persuade me that the reason I use the gym so infrequently is because I don't have an iPod. Might try and persuade DH tonight although that may necessitate a bottle of red.

yoyo,I only ever use it in the gym,so it stays special. There is only so much blaring yoof tv I can take (and they play the same fecking stuff over and over)
I've got the Shuffle-not too expensive and fun to guess what's coming next.

Have just had a slice of the lemon drizzle cake I made this evening withh dd,but that was duty.
How could I not after my baby had toiled so hard??

bossykate · 10/03/2006 22:30

hi batters

(1) i have seen you in daylight fhs and i stand by what i said!!!! Grin
(2) yes and i have spent this evening trying to find your phone no - i know i had your address and phone no - actually in my address book no less - but it has disappeared (sorry, i know that sounds c*p, but, er, it has!)

so i will email you by close of play monday or otherwise could you please give me a call?

winnie · 11/03/2006 09:01

Ate pecan roulade and half a bottle of white wine at dinner last night Blush

Didn't eat enough fruit and veg yesterday.

Didn't exercise either.

did do the 2ltres of water and took makeup off but overall not the best day. I was feeling rather down about x and Mum which is odd because generally I cope but then suddenly it will all overwhelm me and last night I was feeling a bit sorry or myself. will try harder :)

suzywong · 11/03/2006 09:44

would a fourth slice of anchovy and olive pizza be too much?

No booze today though and cycled 8 ks last night

Northerner · 11/03/2006 09:53

Please may I join in this thread?

Have put on a few pounds recently due to lack of exercise. I used to run 3times a week but the bad weather has put a stop to that. Have atrampette at home, need to start using that again.

No alcohol is fine for me, don't drink much anyway. It's chocolate and buscuits that are my downfall....

suzywong · 11/03/2006 10:07

I ate 6 slices and the kids' leftovers Blush

what can I take to rush it all through my system so that I can make a virtuous fresh start tomorrow?

moonshine · 11/03/2006 10:22

SW - a few good slugs of wine should see it all go through very quickly and make you want to be really virtuous tomorrow! Oops meant loads and loads of water to flush out the excess water all those carbs are holding on to.

I had one large glass of wine yesterday - mostly due to the fact that I fell asleep on the sofa at 9pm and woke up at about 11pm! So that's my tip for less drinking.

I wasn't too bad on the food front and have had porridge and some dried berries today (and a crab stick which I am strangely addicted to). Still, compared to Moondog I am Slob Inc. (MD I hope you have some Manic Street Preachers on that Ipod - apart from your Welsh sensibilities it's great heart pumping music imho).

I shall now go glug some water and try and wrangle some walking time with dh and kids.

Blackduck · 11/03/2006 15:54

Pretty good day yesterday - but did finish with a curry and a bottle of wine (but that's it for the weekend..)
Still haven't bought any of this Liz Earle stuff, but will look at it again.
Exercise - walking, wlaking the dog, chasing ds, pushing ds's buggy...!

ScummyMummy · 11/03/2006 17:29

My Liz Earle sunscreen seems quite difficult to apply... Is it because I ate a sausage roll today and am not worthy to use such a virtuous product, I wonder? Or am I using too much/not enough?
bk- all the people I have met on this thread are absolutely not in need of looking younger, yourself not least. It's a nice thread for feeling like you're looking after yourself a bit though, isn't it?
winnie- sorry you felt down. Hope today was better for you.

moondog · 11/03/2006 18:01

SW,you are shamelessly flouting the rules (despite promising bike ride).
Moonshine,no, no MSP.
Don't like them much to be honest and lost all respect for the one that disappeared, Richie Valens (or was it Edwards??) when I read that he drove to the Severn Bridge in his Vauxhall Astra!!
FGS,how bloody unrock 'n roll can you get??

I think I can stick to the no wine thing easily because I am on my own at night. It is no fun drinking wine solo.
If dh were here, things would be quite different.

Blackduck · 11/03/2006 18:03

Ahh so THATS the secret Moondog - send dp out at night..Grin

ScummyMummy · 11/03/2006 18:13

Yes- I'm a binge drinker so find day to day no alcohol very easy. In fact it would be more of a challenge to try and have just one glass of wine a night.

WickedViperWitch · 11/03/2006 19:27

Me too Scummy. So I'm drinking tonight (not yet though, will wait til dd's in bed and dh and I eat at 8.30 ish) and then will abstain next week I think, unless I get a job in which case I think you'll all understand if I have some Champagne! Well, I've been better today than at practically any time over the last week. I had a sausage and egg roll for breakfast, not good but all organic at least, a salad with rocket, watercress, kidney beans, pine kernels, capers, tomatoes, beetroot, cucumber and mackeral for lunch and then we walked 1.5 miles. It was VERY hard because I've been sitting on my arse with very little exercise for far too long now and so what is usually a poxy stroll for me felt like an effort. So lesson learned, I must DO more exercise over the next few weeks.

Well done everyone! Nearly week 3!

ButternutSquash · 11/03/2006 19:47

Hello and well done everyone! I haven't been so good since Thursday, my excuse is I had a job interview on Friday, only the 2nd one in almost 6years, so did a bit of comfort eating on Thursday, lots of chocolate was consumed as well as some sweets Blush. Then the interview went really well so had a large americano and a Pret brownie to celebrate Grin. Today not so bad but not brilliant either, must try harder next week!

Good luck to you all

yoyo · 11/03/2006 19:55

Very good day so far but will be having wine in a short while.

Muesli and banana for breakfast
Tuna & salad sandwich in the delicious Burgen bread, orange for lunch
Steak, baked potato and masses of salad for supper in about 30 mins time. Will try not to have any of the lovely cheese DH bought or the G&B chocolate and orange ice cream.

Drank loads of water. Haven't walked very much but have been busy all day long so fairly active.

Moondog - inadvertently left thread up last night and Dh read my post about the iPod before he'd had the wine. He is in favour!! He's wanted one for ages actually so I'm not surprised and we share the same taste in music too.

soyabean · 11/03/2006 19:56

well done Butternutsquash: does that mean you got the job? What is it for? I need inspiration, to decide what to be when I grow up (am 43...)

Northerner · 11/03/2006 20:01

Well I was supposed to be starting today but not a good start. Porridge for breakfast, then a muffin. Ham salad for lunch and a plum but chineese for dinner. Have drank loads of water though and went for a long walk with the kids in the snow.

Also made conflake cakes this afternoon and helped lick the bowl out!
