Things that annoy me on S&B because

yes I'm in that type of mood today . . .

The main one is the often commented 'oh you can only wear that if you're tall and thin'.

I mean if you have the figure of a model it goes without saying surely you can pretty much wear anything.

But what are the rest of us meant to wear.

It may look best on someone tall and slim but that doesn't mean if you're not those things that you still can't look good.

Oh and it is allowed for people to spend £££ on clothes - just because some people don't it doesn't make those who do bad people.

And relax . . .

Ackcherly, I hate the way that everyone says that if you are tall and thin you can wear anything, like it is a get out of jail free card.

I am tall and thin, yes, but I look like a tool in lots of things.

-baby doll dresses, or anything frilly and cutesy (mind you i wouldn't exactly choose to wear shit like that)
-skinny jeans and flat shoes. Look like gold club
-mid length skirts. Look like Olive Oyl
-OTT styled stuff - as i say you run the risk of looking like a transvestite or pre op transexual

  • most stuff is not designed for tall and thin, so cut is all wrong. Waistlines of dresses end up near your tits for example

NO TO A FASCINATOR

I do sometimes wish that people would just use Google sometimes. Some of the questions are easily answered by a quick search on the old web.

Tethersend - I did once post that someone should wear a paper bag on their head as their top they had linked to was minging and it was not well received!

Perhaps no to a fascinator could be the s and b equivalent of baby pasta. Although this now seems to have been superseded by biscuit faces or questions about the boden sale

Get orf, I read that as gold card

And I was confused as I always thought of you as a Black Card kinda gal

I hate all the threads with 'Johnny Boden' in the thread title. Not just Boden, but fucking Johnny. Like he is your mate, you sad oaf.

It annoys me when people go on about "stylish French women" and how they would never do this that or the other - wearing leggings in public, various hair crimes, that sort of thing.

I have nothing against France or the French, but I have no desire to emulate a stereotypical Parisian maman, thankyou very much. There's only so much navy blue I can tolerate in my life.

French women do look good though they know when to say enough whereas we do go a bit mad with the cheap accessories

I regularly go to a place in France where most of the local women die their hair the same shade of red - I thijnk it is probably called Galvanised Beetroot. Don't see much evidence of style in those parts (Cantal, so very rural)

That's funny about the hairdye.

Not all of us want the classic, anodyne, shiny look. I quite like being colourful and interesting and magpie-like. I wasted my 20s in boring clothes.

The prescriptive nature of style and beauty on here. The do and don'ts from people who are so narrow in their perspective......it makes me cringe. There's a whole lot of cats bum mouth going on from those with arrested development. Honestly, reading some of these, er, 'helpful' suggestions is like being deposited back to 14 year old mindset. A particular bugbear is when asking for an opinion on which item- you get the unhelpful' slate the ruddy lot' response. If you can't say anything nice don't bother because bitching helps nobody.
Cough. Off chest. Am orf now. Head toss.
