Things that annoy me on S&B because

yes I'm in that type of mood today . . .

The main one is the often commented 'oh you can only wear that if you're tall and thin'.

I mean if you have the figure of a model it goes without saying surely you can pretty much wear anything.

But what are the rest of us meant to wear.

It may look best on someone tall and slim but that doesn't mean if you're not those things that you still can't look good.

Oh and it is allowed for people to spend £££ on clothes - just because some people don't it doesn't make those who do bad people.

And relax . . .

Grin at your fickle relationship with the BBH MrsCB

dexter73 · 05/06/2011 21:16

I remember that MrsCB! I was in a silly mood!
I do like S&B because I am a naturally very boring dresser. I tend to stick to safe things because i know they suit me. I have branched out a bit now and e.g. instead of jeans I now have skinny cargos (which I love!!), and I have tried different things. The one thing I have never been afraid of is colour and I only have 2 items of black clothing!
Still only wear flats though :)!

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/06/2011 21:16

Well you see I was all caught up with it and then caught sight of myself when out and realised I looked like a blooming 50 year old local newsreader.

dexter73 · 05/06/2011 21:18

WTF is BBH??

dexter73 · 05/06/2011 21:19

It's the Babyliss Big Hair isn't it!

MrsJuan · 05/06/2011 21:20

I will be chuckling at that all night now Smile

cybbo · 05/06/2011 21:21

Well I'm fed up wth 'I'm size 28 and my thighs chafe. What can I do?' And folk suggest BOXER SHORTS

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/06/2011 21:22

It is dexter - do not buy. Its a hotbrush of the type my mother uses - worst case of Emperor's new clothes ever.

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/06/2011 21:23

Cyb - I thought you meant 28 inch waist jeans Wink

I like the fact thought there's somethings you can always rely on and Cyb's annual boots hunt is one of my favourites Smile.

CointreauVersial · 05/06/2011 21:25

MrsCB, I am clearly your mother, as I heart the BBH.

cybbo · 05/06/2011 21:25

Ah thankyou

Will soon be that season again

GetOrf · 05/06/2011 21:25

lolol cyb

Botox consultation booked for next month - I went to see someone in sk:n and disliked the place on sight, the staff were thickos.

Someone recommended a place in Cirencester so am going there.

I just want to stop frowning really, I look like a miserable old cow. If I have botox people will think I am happy!

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/06/2011 21:26

But your hair is probably long Cointreau - mine is a choppy bob which I currently hate so I look like Kerry Katona on a bad day if I use it crossed with local newsreader.

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/06/2011 21:27

I go to a good bloke in Bath getorf if you don't like the cirencester chap.

KristinaM · 05/06/2011 21:29

No cyb, it's not your turn yet

First we have to have the warm waterproof Stylish jacket that covers your bum thread

tattycoram · 05/06/2011 21:30

Hey LTEC I wondered where you had gone. We keep looking at houses in your (former?) neck of the woods. I hope all is well with you (trying to be cool about the fact that someone know who I am Grin

I miss fishie too, talking of S&B people. I was totally her fashion stalker, she had the same taste as me only better

KristinaM · 05/06/2011 21:32

Opps no, it's here already

Grandhighpoohba · 05/06/2011 21:34

I really don't like the body fascism that says that "nowt" will look good on me because I'm overweight. And the gaggles of thin women insisting that fat women should never show their arms, or wear certain clothes. Its like overhearing the bitchy girls at high school.

GetOrf · 05/06/2011 21:35

I first tried the big hair and looked like Judith Chalmers.

BUT have since discovered the trick is to blow dry hair til 95% dry and then finish it off, it works brilliantly then.

If you do it from wet you will look unspeakable.

Thanks mrscb I may well ask for that if Cirencester bloke no good. I judge on what the staff look like - if they have shades of the Lizzy Cundy I back away.

tulpe · 05/06/2011 21:41

Grandhighpoohba - IME it is the larger ladies themselves saying they don't want to show their arms off rather than "thin women insisting" they shouldn't. Too many women get too hung up on their individual body parts rather than their total look, IMO.

Regardless of shape/size/budget, a lot of people would look far better if they had correct posture. Slouching and not standing correctly makes everyone look crap.

BabyReindeer · 05/06/2011 21:54

The fact that most of the ladies asking for help go on and on about how big their "norks" are

cybbo · 05/06/2011 22:04

lol Kristina, forgot about that one

I LOVE my bbh btw, cant live without it

Makes me feel like Renee Russo in Thomas Crown affair

cybbo · 05/06/2011 22:05

ooh yes I hate the 'I want to wear something on the beach that doesnt show off boobs/arms/tops of legs/arse'

Have they SEEN everyone else on the beach?

Sweet baby moses

strawberryjelly · 05/06/2011 22:13

I get tired of all the posts that could be solved by a search:

recommend a mascara
teeth whitening
lipgloss
I am now 40 and want a good moisturiser.

And hopeless ones like:
should I have a fringe?( ask your hairdresser , that's why you pay them)
should I grow/cut my hair now I am xx age?

tethersend · 05/06/2011 22:14

Sometimes I want to answer the question "What shall I wear with this?" with "A paper bag over your head. It's fucking awful".

I have thus far managed to resist.
