Big paragraphs appearing when I try to reply to threads

I'm using the browser on a Samsung phone and getting a weird thing - if it happens here I'll leave it so you can see what I mean! Big spaces are appearing at the bottom of posts, like when a cat stands on the enter key. And paragraphs are jumping apart

by themselves and the cursor skips around.

It's not happening on any other sites so definitely not my phone - just had to abandon a post entirely as it was "skipping" so much it became completely unresponsive!

@BelleHathor well, its taken a little time but today my posts seem to be normal. I tested by switching grammerly back on and it reverted to the hellish problems so thank you for that little hack.

@LilyMumsnet I don't want to keep switching it on and off so if you'd keep investigating I'd appreciate it

@motleymop I had to switch off "suggest text corrections" which if you click on it says it powered by grammerly (a grammer checker)

@Blister thank you, I think maybe it just took a while to settle 🤷

@007DoubleOSeven thanks - I've found it and will give it a whirl

Stopthatknocking · 15/02/2023 07:27

This was 1st reported in November, its still not fixed.
It's not the phones fault, because it doesn't happen on any sites except mumsnet

Get it sorted @mumsnet, Because you will be losing users at speed if we can't take part in the conversations

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 15/02/2023 08:52

But it does seem to be the phone's fault. Fix has been posted above

I've tried that. Testing testing

New parag which is always the thing that makes it jump around

I think this might have worked. I am still.getting underlined words where they have been autocorrected so clearly there is still some sort of spellchecker going on.

Thanks to the pp who suggested this ! It does indeed seem to be the solution 🥳

Hthhehhe brhrh <-- these words haven't been underlined or autocorrected so it could be a pain if you rely on a spellchecker .v annoying that Samsung has done this.

I rely on spell checker so can't turn that function off 😭

Blister · 16/02/2023 01:06

I did turn spell check off too but you don't have to. The writing assistant is a separate entry.
