Did you have sex on your wedding night?

That's the question, just out of interest. We didn't, and I'm now going back through our relationship analysing why we are where we are now. And I just wondered if that was still a big deal or not, the wedding night thing.

No, too pissed. Made up for it on the honeymoon though Grin

BrimFullOfAsher · 05/02/2021 23:10

Yes

HirplesWithHaggis · 05/02/2021 23:11

No, because we were on an overnight train to London (from Dundee) and it wasn't a sleeper. Shock We did once we got to Paris, though.

That was back in 1984, and we were already living together.

Muzzyarker · 05/02/2021 23:11

No. Too tired by the time we got to the hotel at 3am. Not a big deal.

EternalOptimist7 · 05/02/2021 23:11

No cos we were shattered!

SuperHighway · 05/02/2021 23:12

No we didn't. We sat up and watched the boxing on TV while eating left over buffet food. That was 35 years ago.

Shahlalala · 05/02/2021 23:12

No, DH was passed out ... going into our second decade after two children it doesn’t seem relevant.

HenriettaHeffalump · 05/02/2021 23:12

Yes, but it wasn't the best sex we've ever had together, or anywhere near it! It wouldn't have been a big deal if we hadn't, in retrospect. Different if you are maybe a very religiously observant couple who waited till their wedding night, I imagine.

joystir59 · 05/02/2021 23:13

Yes we did.

AliasGrape · 05/02/2021 23:14

Nope, was 8 weeks pregnant and had had bleeding and been advised not to until after 12 week scan. The midwife did actually say ‘oh well given it’s your wedding and honeymoon I’m sure it will be ok’ but we were too scared! We did risk it on honeymoon.

M0rT · 05/02/2021 23:14

We had sex after the meal and before the dancing on our wedding day...we knew it would be early morning before we made it to bed!

Onedropbeat · 05/02/2021 23:16

Yes, we went to our hotel room after everyone left , showered together. Then had a cup of tea on the bed opening the cards together and then had sex before falling to sleep in the early hours

LongIslandIcedT · 05/02/2021 23:16

Yes, but we had a low key wedding at sunset. No big shindig. The worst bit was getting the 100s of grips out of my hair.

Tanfastic · 05/02/2021 23:17

No, I spent most of it with my head down the toilet 😂

AntiHop · 05/02/2021 23:18

No, we were too exhausted. Also, we were in our own home after the wedding and had family staying over.

kateybeth79 · 05/02/2021 23:18

Nope, too tired and drunk!

AliasGrape · 05/02/2021 23:19

Although just to add it would have been unlikely even without the pregnancy and anxiety. It was an amazing day but long and we were shattered, and DH was pissed!
Pericombobulations · 05/02/2021 23:19

Yes.

But was rather pointly asked by one of DH's friends the next morning, with the comment "Not everyone does it on their wedding night." His wife did not look impressed he had overshared with us all.

Susiesue61 · 05/02/2021 23:22

No, I took the big frock off and we watched Match of the day with a glass of champagne 😊

TJ17 · 05/02/2021 23:25

Yes but only because I felt like it was an obligatory tradition lol

I was blindingly drunk and don't really remember much of it to this day (other than how long it took DH to get me out of the damn dressGrin)
So it was deffo not the tender romantic experience you might fantasise about but we don't regret it.

Threeleaper · 05/02/2021 23:25

Nope. Our wedding was pretty casual, we took our two witnesses for lunch, and I went to a weird experimental production of The Duchess of Malfi in Whitechapel later a d didn’t get home till late. I was eight months pregnant and trying to fit in all the theatre I could. Grin

GrallaceandWomit · 05/02/2021 23:25

No, we were still dancing until 6am so missed the day completely!

TippledPink · 05/02/2021 23:27

Nope, the next morning we did.

MargotLovedTom1 · 05/02/2021 23:28

No, he was pissed and I was 8 wks pregnant and knackered.

Eggsley · 05/02/2021 23:30

Yes, we were tipsy but not drunk.

I left all my hair grips in though, which I very much regretted in the morning.
