Did you have sex on your wedding night?

That's the question, just out of interest. We didn't, and I'm now going back through our relationship analysing why we are where we are now. And I just wondered if that was still a big deal or not, the wedding night thing.

Yea. We had a small quiet wedding and were at the hotel by 9.

Slowslowlavaflow · 06/02/2021 02:44

Yes! Surprisingly.
I was 4.5 months pregnant and had been feverish on and off, all day. I was exhausted, and fainted on our way to the hotel from our reception. My husband had to carry me. A warm room service meal later and I felt fit as a fiddle, so attacked my husband! Fun times! Then woke up the next day not remembering falling asleep. Turns out the fever returned, I got a bit delirious and 'passed out' drooling on my pillow. I woke up to a bleary eyed, worried husband, and a damp towel on my forehead. Eventful.

I’ve had sex at someone else’s wedding. Does that count? 😃

starrynight21 · 06/02/2021 03:56

Yes, but it was more because of the tradition. I wish we hadn't, since I had a feeling that I shouldn't have married him, and having sex just made me more aware that he wasn't the right one for me.

Figgyboa · 06/02/2021 03:56

No, too drunk and tired...

Mothership4two · 06/02/2021 04:23

No, both too tired and, having done a quick straw poll of friends, not uncommon. The next morning however...

UseOfWeapons · 06/02/2021 06:57

No, with 1st marriage.
Yes, with the second.

UseOfWeapons · 06/02/2021 06:57

@StarlightLady

I’ve had sex at someone else’s wedding. Does that count? 😃
😅😅
CaughtInTheCovid · 06/02/2021 07:02

We did! I didn’t expect to as everyone says you’re so knackered but I felt on such a high and got back to the beautiful hotel room pissed as a fart and it happened. Also didn’t expect the BFP 2 weeks later but DC2 is a wonderful reminder of our wedding night Grin

20viona · 06/02/2021 07:12

No but we did the next morning.

Littlefluffyclouds13 · 06/02/2021 07:15

@Isadora2007

First husband no. Second yes.

Should’ve known! 😂

Same!! GrinGrin
bert3400 · 06/02/2021 07:22

Nope, DH sneaked off at 11 to bed slightly worse for wear. I stayed dancing till the music stopped at 1am, then jumped in the pool with all my mates. We had been together 15 years and 2 DC at that point and we married abroad. It was the best day of my life.

PurBal · 06/02/2021 07:28

No. Too tired. But we're morning sex people anyway.

JorisBonson · 06/02/2021 07:29

If it wasn't so outing I'd love to post the picture of DH sparked out on the bed on our wedding night 😂

(So the answer is no)

FazeleysRoyale · 06/02/2021 07:43

Yes. I had bought some gorgeous underwear for the occasion which DH needed to see !

It was about 1.30 a.m. and he undid all the buttons on the back of my dress.

He did say " I love you, Mrs. ( new surname)" which sounds corny now but was lovely in the moment.

We had to get up at 5.30 to catch a plane for honeymoon, did not have much sleep or time in the amazing bridal suite. Wish we could have had a leisurely morning there.

I think the wedding night is special, and important for your own memories.

Marmite27 · 06/02/2021 07:45

We both said before hand that we probably wouldn’t because we’d be too tired. But we both couldn’t sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️

WellJuhnelle · 06/02/2021 07:48

Half-heartedly, because we felt like we should, but we were both shattered and drunk and it was rubbish so I think we have up!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 06/02/2021 07:53

I honestly cannot remember for the life of me.

Plenty of shenanigans on honeymoon though.

Marmite27 · 06/02/2021 07:56

At one of our friends weddings, he was so drunk we had to help his dad and new wife get him to bed. I was friendly with the bride, but not friends iyswim.

We were just leaving when she came to the door to shout me back to ask me to undo her dress as she couldn’t get out of it and needed to be ready for a taxi to the airport in a couple of hours.

Friend peed on his suitcase, and ended up paying a fine for returning his suit late as he ended up travelling in it to Cuba.

They’re divorced now, his ex jokes that she’ll need me at her next wedding to make sure she can get out of her dress Grin

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 06/02/2021 08:03

Nope! It was 2am by the time we got to bed and it'd been a long day! We did the next night though, in our honeymoon hotel, and I cried at the emotion!

Doublechins · 06/02/2021 08:04

No We were both exhausted

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 06/02/2021 08:05

One of DH's friends apparently got so wasted at his wedding that he shat himself... His new wife spent their wedding night cleaning him up. So it could be worse! They're still together several years and 2 kids later!

CrimsonFlags · 06/02/2021 08:06

Yes

BikeRunSki · 06/02/2021 08:06

No, too tired and worse for wear. No big deal, we’d been DTD pretty regularly for3 years at that point.

Nutrigrainygoodness · 06/02/2021 08:13

We didn't go to bed until nearly 2am, we sat in the bar of the hotel drinking champagne with some people we had just met.
Then we did the deed. Then I woke up at 6 to go for a bath and we did it again.
