Did you have sex on your wedding night?

That's the question, just out of interest. We didn't, and I'm now going back through our relationship analysing why we are where we are now. And I just wondered if that was still a big deal or not, the wedding night thing.

OP posts:

Yes more than once 😳

Oldsu · 06/02/2021 00:33

Nope, we spent the first night in my Grandparents spare bedroom and were too embarrassed, made up for it since then

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 06/02/2021 00:33

Nope! Was 18w pg at my wedding and had been up 18h by the time I went to bed - was knackered! DH was still partying with his mates, so helped me out of my dress (lots of buttons) and then went back down to carry on, while I fell asleep.

Still married nearly 14y later.

PADH · 06/02/2021 00:34

No, I was far too exhausted (and drunk)

Longdistance · 06/02/2021 00:36

Yes, back at the hotel I had my tiara on and my diamonds were dangling with every move 😉

Maskedcrusader · 06/02/2021 00:37

No, I went up to the room around 12 drank a bottle if wine with my mum & sister. He was delivered to the room around 3am by his brothers. He passed out in the (empty bath).

Coolhand2 · 06/02/2021 00:40

Yes, couldn't wait to do it

PyongyangKipperbang · 06/02/2021 00:42

No

Three marriages and didnt with any of them!

I know more people who didnt than did, especially people who got married from the 80's onward.

CupOfTeaAlonePlease · 06/02/2021 00:43

Yes but it was rubbish.

PieandMash321 · 06/02/2021 00:45

No. It was about 4am when we went to bed, we planned/hoped to and I went to take the 50,000 clips out my hair in the bathroom, I was gone 15 min and when I returned my husband was flat out unconscious still in his trousers and shirt with 1 leg on the floor not on the bed properly. My dress was a button up one and I needed help out of it, I couldn’t even wake him to help. I was about to go down the corridor and knock on my parent’s hotel room to ask for help 😆, imagine the shame 🙈!! I managed to wrestle in the mirror took me about 20min to get out of it.

It was a wild wedding night 🤣🤣.

We did try to sneak off in the day at the point they turn the room around for the evening as we realised we might run out of steam later, went up to the bridal suite to find my mum and aunty sat in there drinking!! They didn’t attempt to leave 😆 “oh hi, I was just showing your aunty around, lovely isn’t it, what are you doing up here?” 🤔

Thedarknightsarelifting · 06/02/2021 00:46

Yes, twice. It was amazing even though we were squiffy. Honeymoon was better though!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/02/2021 00:51

No. Too tired, I didn’t sleep at all the night before my wedding and I was absolutely shattered.

Maddison12 · 06/02/2021 00:53

Was obvious OP wanted to talk about her relationship and didn't really want to hear if people had sex on their wedding nightsHmm

You ok OP?

PeggyHill · 06/02/2021 00:55

No, but only because we were too pissed. Sounds like there is more to this in your instance, OP.

Have you never had much sex?

RatherLostPenguins · 06/02/2021 00:58

No but we did the morning after. We were both tipsy and tired and didn't get to our hotel room until after 2am. DH struggled to undo my dress so that and taking out my hairpins took so long we really just wanted to sleep. Left for honeymoon two days later and definitely made up for it there.

Lollypop701 · 06/02/2021 00:59

@PieandMash321 every standard wedding ever!

DavidsSchitt · 06/02/2021 01:00

Why do you ask?

Farcry66 · 06/02/2021 01:02

No, we were too drunk and he hit his head on the 4 poster bed! I had to take my hair grips out all by myself!

SingleHandSue · 06/02/2021 01:05

I could’ve written this exact post! Those damn hair pins! By the time I’d taken them out DH was snoring.

I had to hunt down my bridesmaid who was trying to shag the best man to help me out of my dress.

I ended up having a hot chocolate watching a storm out of the hotel window. Was quite nice actually and undoubtedly better than the sex would’ve been! Grin

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 06/02/2021 01:39

No. Although had the best sex either of us could remember at my friend's wedding. It was very rude.

PieandMash321 · 06/02/2021 01:48

@SingleHandSue 🤣🤣 yeah I don’t think I missed out on a night of wild sex either, he couldn’t even get onto the bed!!

KatyClaire · 06/02/2021 01:49

Yes. We both sort of felt you only got one opportunity to have sex on your wedding night but tbh we were both knackered and overwrought and just wanted to talk about the wedding, so it was far from the best sex we’ve ever had.

CodMouth · 06/02/2021 01:53

Yes we did.

HistoriaTrixie · 06/02/2021 02:07

No way. I'd worn The Wrong Shoes and my feet hurt so badly when I got into the room I couldn't make myself take even one more step so DH, tipsy gallant as he was, removed me from my dress and then picked me up out of the middle of the pouf and set me down on the bed. Then we turned on the TV, found an episode of CSI we hadn't seen yet, and set about pulling out my 118 hairpins. I drank the Best Pepsi Ever from the minibar and then crashed.

Didn't do it in the morning either because we woke up ravenous, ate a huge room service breakfast, then checked out to head out on our road-trip honeymoon. Finally did it that night in a hotel in New Bern, NC.

Still going strong after nearly 15 years!

Osirus · 06/02/2021 02:13

No, we didn’t. And prior to our wedding day we’d not had sex for 18 months due to pregnancy and me co-sleeping with our baby.

We did it a day or two later though. It had been so long we both seemed quite nervous, even though we’d been together 11 years. Even though we’d had sex many times over the years, that first time after getting married did feel very different - and not just because we were nervous! It was lovely.
