Contact from the other woman

I have just received a text from the woman I suspected my husband was having an affair with - it arrived when we were in the car together and it was read out through the car speakers.

She said she felt that needed to tell me - people are gossiping at work, and she has told him to stop the contact. What should I do?

You aren't giving enough information for anyone to advise you properly. Your op raises so many questions and any advice depends on those answers.

Sorry you're in this situation.

Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:21

So your husband was in the car at the time? That’s what I’ve come to understand of this. How did he react?

If you suspected already and she’s confirmed it’s pretty much the situation is he’s having an affair

Drabarni · 16/01/2020 17:22

I don't understand what you mean, who read it out over the speakers in the car.

BorissGiantJohnson · 16/01/2020 17:22

What?

Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:23

Hang on - your husband received this text from her? Not you?

And you only know about it because it was read through the speakers?

Drabarni · 16/01/2020 17:23

Tell him to pack his things, is what I'd do.

Drabarni · 16/01/2020 17:24

OP can you rewrite your OP please?

FMO1976 · 16/01/2020 17:24

I received the text but as my car was connected to the car phone system the text message came through over the radio and the ‘car’ read it out. He said he had no idea (of course he didn’t!)

SandyY2K · 16/01/2020 17:27

So he is denying it? Arrange a 3 way meeting and ask her for proof.

Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:27

Oh dear I’ve just read hour other post from two days ago...

He’s definitely having an affair OP. kick him out.

Batshittery · 16/01/2020 17:30

He said he had no idea about what?

FMO1976 · 16/01/2020 17:30

I have no clue why she would send me the text? Anyone have any idea....??

OP posts:
FMO1976 · 16/01/2020 17:31

Having an affair

OP posts:
Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:32

Because she wants to let you know he’s having an affair with her.

Drabarni · 16/01/2020 17:32

OP can you link your other thread.

Jane1978xx · 16/01/2020 17:32

She sent you the text to let you know they are having an affair. Either he’s dumped her and it’s revenge or she thinks you’ll throw him out and he’ll go to her

FMO1976 · 16/01/2020 17:33

@Sunflowersok

Why would she want to do that? Hoping I kick him out, or feeling guilty....

OP posts:
Morgan12 · 16/01/2020 17:33

You have no clue why she sent you a text?

So telling you about your husbands affair never entered your head?

You're being evasive tbh. What did the text say?

Batshittery · 16/01/2020 17:33

It seems strange that he would say he has no idea about having an affair? I assume you mean he is denying it?
You could ring the OW. Did you know she had your number? Do you know her?

BarbedBloom · 16/01/2020 17:33

He is having an affair and she wants you to know

Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:35

Loads of reasons OP.

She might be feeling guilty
She might have experienced it in the past herself and realised how bad the situation was
She might be trying to get revenge on him for not leaving you
Pure spite.

Does it matter the reasons? Why would you want to be with him after knowing he’s a cheat and a liar?

Sunflowersok · 16/01/2020 17:36

She might even be wanting to do the right thing. It doesn’t matter. She’s not the one you should be concentrating on. He is.

FMO1976 · 16/01/2020 17:38

He just said that he didn’t know who sent it - he’s not having an affair. I don’t know her but I can get her number through a work directory.

I thought your husband was working away until tomorrow?
