The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Park Bench!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 18/10/2010 10:54

Hello Smile

I'm Mouse and one of the Brave Babes on the Battle Bus.

The bus is never full and you'll find a real mix of people on board, all with the same goal.

To take control of their drinking. Whether that's to stop completely or cut right down.

Everyone is welcome to get on the bus at any point. You will receive a warm welcome and plenty of support.

Some come meet the others.........

The journey so far.

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 19:36

Evening everyone, not usually on line at this time of the evening but have been fighting strong urge to visit friend and drink wine. She has been texting and dropping hints (have told her counsellor suggested I reduce alcohol intake) so won't ask me up outright. Was tempted last night but got long phone call from my sister and the temptation passed. My daughter babysitting this evening so have house to myself for a few hours so the opportunity is there. Just need to redirect energy for next half hour or so . .

BBwannaB · 21/10/2010 19:40

hi DTC stay in with me. I have a bottle of Dandelion and Burdock to share - does that tempt you?

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 19:41

Have never tasted it BB and am not too sure it sounds very tempting :) [hhmm]

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 19:45

Oh dear BB reading that book it sounded a bit rude which it most definitely wasn't meant to be Blush

BBwannaB · 21/10/2010 19:46

Somewhere in this thread someone said that their counsellor suggested that maybe they should stop drinking so much, mine said that too Doh!

when I said that cooking supper was a trigger for my first drink each night she suggested that we had salad Confused

BBwannaB · 21/10/2010 19:54

not rude at all Smile
any ideas for tempting soft drinks will be welcome, I don't like coke or fruity drinks so a bit stuck for ideas...

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 19:56

Was me whose counsellor told her to on Monday to reduce her drinking and stupid part of me thinks that because I didn't have a drink with friend last night (we usually drink together 3-4 and sometimes 5 nights per week) and because it's Thursday and because it's payday that it would be somehow ok for me to have a drink tonight [hblush]

Silver66 · 21/10/2010 20:03

still don't get it - cancer awareness - i am definately missing something..........

Silver66 · 21/10/2010 20:06

looked again - someone help me - for a very intelligent woman I do have the 'totally thick gene' going on - am i on the right website - ffs -- ! Grin

BBwannaB · 21/10/2010 20:06

not stupid, there is always a reason for a drink, to celebrate, to commiserate, to drown sorrows, just because we want to...
We just have to find a way to do those things without a drink in the hand. I already let myself down on tuesday of my 'sober' week for one of those reasons.

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 20:12

I don't think I really understood how out of hand my drinking had gotten but when someone sits in front of you and spells it out to you (someone with no hidden agenda or connection to you) then you know it's serious.

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 20:13

What are you looking for Silver? haven't patience to read back over thread, too busy feeling sorry for myself:( Fill me in, it might help ease boredom.

Silver66 · 21/10/2010 20:17

BB I was talking about something else - pink friggin sock or something....I'll let the other wind up merchants explain.

Lime and Soda - lots of ice and a slice
Elderflower cordial - very refreshing
Fresh orange juice - as in peel and squeeze the oranges yourself - again loads of ice

Hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Plain old sparkling water as long as you dress it up with ice and lemon/lime.

Say no more xxxxxxxxxxxx

Silver66 · 21/10/2010 20:19

Desire - I wish i knew - a pink sock???

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 20:20

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 20:21

desiretochange · 21/10/2010 20:22

X posted Silver .. apologies

Silver66 · 21/10/2010 20:25

Mouse - I'm going to slap your arse so feking hard if you do not clarify PINK SOCK. and you Christ and you MissP COME ON x

earlyriser · 21/10/2010 20:34

Ok,Silver, pink sock (and i'd look away now if you are squeamish) is when you are being done up the bum and your partner gives you a heavy blow to the head which makes your rectum fall out when he withdraws (not explained very well but you get the gist). Was in ref to another poster's nn on another thread. HTH Confused
