The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Park Bench!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 18/10/2010 10:54

Hello Smile

I'm Mouse and one of the Brave Babes on the Battle Bus.

The bus is never full and you'll find a real mix of people on board, all with the same goal.

To take control of their drinking. Whether that's to stop completely or cut right down.

Everyone is welcome to get on the bus at any point. You will receive a warm welcome and plenty of support.

Some come meet the others.........

The journey so far.

diabolik - that's a great way to see the progress too.

I kept a drink diary when I first gave up, to see how well I was doing. I logged all of my feelings too.

I couls see the changes in my sleep pattern, my appetite, moods etc.

I too felt a sense of control and I still do.

I think you're doing great. I really do. [hsmile]

Afternoon everyone:)
Mouse what way did you keep your drink diary, write something in just when you felt like a drink or throughout the day?
Hope above makes sense, know what I want to ask but words just not coming together for me [hblush]

diabolik · 21/10/2010 14:26

errr my action list is my work one :) I dont keep a diary

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 21/10/2010 14:30

diabolik - ha ha ha ha, I am a numpty! [hgrin]

desire - I just have a notebook. I made notes on when I drank, how much, how I felt, And the next day..... what happened, how I felt etc.

It's quite an eye opener to see it in black and white. And not nice at times but it helped me by shocking me.

daddywillbehomesoon book on its way! It is a special magic version.

dichotomy · 21/10/2010 14:41

Thanks eceryone who asnwered my questions!!

Just to clarify I meant do other MN'ers (ie non-brave babes) ever invade the thread to flame or shame?
Also I worry about having an opinion on other threads in case some-one might say "oh what do you know, you're a drunk" (thats just an example, I suppose what I mean is..

would or have other MN'ers held it against you?)

I did name change to start posting on here, and then name change back to post on other threads, but it all became tooooo confusing!!! Grin

I suppose I just want re-assurances that I'm safe here.

zombieinhighheelswhatnext · 21/10/2010 14:58

dich! - i have never read a post on here from a 'non-babe' that was anything but supportive! - i have certainly never been told that my opinion is of less value because im an alcoholic and quite frankly, if someone did say that to me i asumme that they were a fucking twat! [hgrin] - i havent drunk my entire brain function away and tbh the longer i am sober the less the label of 'alcoholic' defines me, im so much more!!

if ANYONE 'holds it against you' for being an alcoholic, cut the twat out of your life!

so, dont worry, you are quite safe here! me and mouse cant half kick some arse if needed! [hgrin]

diabolik · 21/10/2010 15:04

I agree zombie - being some one with a drink drug problem doesnt make you less smart or less of a nice person ...

If you are thick or an arsehole you will be with and without the drink

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 21/10/2010 15:05

Did you want me for some arse kicking Zombie? [hgrin]

dich - no-one would dare I don't think. It would be as distasteful as commenting on a bereavement thread in my book.

It really is a safe thread and I have never been challenged on any other threads re the value of my advice, comments or thoughts.

Come sit nexy to me. I'll look after you.

When you get attacked on a thread for what you've posted!!

Try looking at a few AIBU threads, you'll soon get the gist!!

[hgrin], its cos mouse told us not to! [hgrin], gawd, there are some grotty buggers in this world! (pun intended! ha ha!)btw, i asked the guys in teh office if they knew what it meant - put them of their sausage sarnies when i told 'em! [hgrin]

MorticiaPerrier · 21/10/2010 16:22

Zombie, Mouse I have just googled pink sock Bugger me (well maybe not) who knew!!! You live and learn eh [hgrin]

MorticiaPerrier · 21/10/2010 16:32

Zombie I mentioned ealier that I have been feeling oddly flat and not my usual self. Really fed up actually for no apparent reason. I wonder if it is seasonal, losing daylight hours ect. Just thought i'd mention it. Hope you feel brighter today! [hsmile]

zombieinhighheelswhatnext · 21/10/2010 16:37

morticia - i think you may right about the season causing a bit of 'flatness' - i used to combat the feeling by using a sunbed Shock, i found the light really perked me up!, (im so shallow though i only gave them up so i didnt look like an old handbag!, had nothing to do with skin cancer! Blush

btw, i am feeling a bit brighter today thanks! [hgrin]

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 21/10/2010 16:43
