Hello Smile

I'm Mouse. I've been sober for over a month now, thanks to the support of posters on this and previous threads.

No matter where you are up to with your sobriety, you'll find someone here who has been in your shoes!

Come and meet the other Brave Babes........

And here are the other threads for those who want to read them.

hello!!! this is a lovely shiny new thread and we have a lovely shiny new babe! Grin

welcome to maybe!!

maybe - there were lots of times that i througherly enjoyed boozing, before it all went tits-up i often had a great time! do you truly have an ejoyable time EVERY time you drink? am willing to bet you dont!, i didnt have a hangover everyday either, but now i feel so much better i realise that i actually felt lousy for years!!

MaybeTheyHaveSeenUs · 03/09/2010 18:43

Not enjoyable every time no - just normal. It was just normal.

I really don't want to fail at this. DH is a light drinker so in a way that helps.

I went from being a student to having a good career in arts to being a SAHM for 8 yrs - am starting back at work now and want to lose weight too. Hope it's not all too much - feel as if it's not RIGHT NOW.

Sorry for indulgent ramblings just wanted to answer questions.

MaybeTheyHaveSeenUs · 03/09/2010 18:43

Over a month is fab Mouseface.

Blush at shiny babe...

Mouseface · 03/09/2010 19:04

Maybe

You have to be indulgent on here, so as not to induldge in drinking.

The whole purpose of these threads is to let it out! Whatever it might be. Your thoughts, fears, good or bad....... whatever!

Better out than in!! Grin

Nice to see you all, hi Maybe (or shiny babe Smile ), JWN, Mouse and Prime(or do I call you Instructions?).

All good here, I am not drinking but just about to start chomping chocolate (can get some cheese for you Mouse Smile ).

I had an amazing day. As well as 'productive' (ahem) day DD wise, she hasn't had a single tantrum. Plus I drove to the area we are moving too and we had a little walk, saw a friend who lives there and I LOVE it. I can't wait to move there, its just so lovely. The village shop even sells homemade cakes. Want to move now

Being a northerner living dahn sarf I'm not exactly gushing in my affections but you brave babes(and MIFLAW!)are awesome. Thank you so much for helping me clamber aboard the bus two weeks ago and supporting me whether its LittleMsGee, general wobbles or in laws that are getting to me. I'm proud to know you all.

MsGee · 03/09/2010 20:36

"moving to"

not too. Doh.

Mouseface · 03/09/2010 20:39

MsGee

Our village is like that and we have a castle!! Shock

Little cakes and pasties in our shop. Nothing else, just that! Grin

When do you go?

And well done for another day of not drinking. They all add up. xx

OP posts:
MsGee · 03/09/2010 21:02

Oooh a castle! Mouse, you got me there. We have a nice church and cows though. No moving date yet but surveys all done, mortgages ok'd, so I hope we move by the end of the month. Feel almost giddy with excitement!

MsGee · 03/09/2010 21:05

Envy on pasties Mouse.

Will start campaign once I move to bring pasties to village shop. Although local pub has a farm type shop so will check if they do them there.

Mouseface · 03/09/2010 21:16

We have cows too and a church, three pubs Grin 3 hairdressers, an antiques shop, a post office and erm, well..... that's it! What more will I ever need?

I hope your move goes well. Keep us all posted. Smile

Hello to all, and especially to prime/instructions and maybe. Nice to see you all on here.

Maybe, just be a little careful about tackling too much at once. I totally understand the desire to make one big clean sweep, but sometimes I find that if I fail on one thing, then it 'allows' me to give up on all the other fronts. MIFLAW would suggest that you tackle first the thing that is most likely to harm you. And if that is your drinking habits then that's the first one to work on.

I am off to bed early. See you tomorrow no doubt.

Going to go back to read for a catch up now as not been on for a couple of weeks. Just wanted to say that I am still sober(12 weeks tomorrow).
Have just been speaking to Multiplemummy for anyone who remembers her, and she has been attending AA regularly and is also sober. She is going to venture back on here this weekend sometime.
She has a teenager and 2 yr old twins so is probably tearing her hair out most of the time andsaidshe doesnt get time to come on.
Hope you lovely sober ladies are all doing ok. As I said, am gonna go for a catch up now!

Mouseface · 03/09/2010 22:45

Hey MM!!!

I was just refreshing the page before shutting down. Lovely to see you and yes, I remember Multiple too.

Wow! 12 weeks! That is great news.

Off to bed now but hope to see you around over the weekend too!

Looking forward to hearing from Multiplemummy. Smile

morning all!!

absolutly great to hear from 'old' friends'! Grin you all sound like you are doing really well!

today i am mostly pickling shallots (instead of my liver) ready for christmas, doing a bit of work, im not really complaining, i know loads of people would like to be in this position, but i really could of done with a whole weekend off, never mind, thems the breaks i spose!

tonight we are off to a very posh do, marquee in grounds, heli pad, black tie styley - looking forward to it loads! Grin, i have got a fantastic black banadage dress and i will waer the shoes i got the other day - the best bit is, as im not drinking, i will still look as nice at the end of the party as i did at the beginning, not just for the first hour! Grin, no staggering, slurring, talking total shit, no smeared make-up, no rows with dh, no waking up with the shakes, no awful feeling of trying to remember what i did, no having to phone and apologise to the hostess , no awful depressing come-down for 2 days - just a lovely evening with my dh and our good friends that i will remember for years for all the right reasons! Smile

right, off to put my hair in rollers! Blush
