Hello, welcome to thread five!! Smile

I'm Mouse and I'm 10 whole days sober which is bloody amazing given that I would normally consume nearly 90 units per week! And that's without 'special occasions'!! Shock

So, if I can do it, you can do it! The support here is awesome, no matter where you are in your quest to quit. No judging, no cliquey groups.

We are just real, honest people. All helping each other to give up the booze. Come meet the other Brave Babes........................

And for those who would like to read the adventures so far, here are the links from the first four threads!

JWN's original thread (the reason we are all here)

Mouse - hope you get some sleep / rest today. I can't imagine how stressful and difficult it must be having a child with special needs but I know how debilitating sleep deprivation is(we have had two years with DD and its only just improving). I hope the lack of sleep is just a blip for you all - it just makes everything else so much more difficult (understatemet I know).

Fingers and toes crossed for naptime.

Maddogs - well done for 19 days!

Desire - hurrah on acheiving the three goals.

Am just figuring out who is who, so apologies for missing people!

RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 11:55

I know what you mean MsGee, there are so many people to begin with! Although sadly we have had loads of posters who have been and gone - I really hope that they make it back or they are dealing with their problems in another way... Sad

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 11:58

MsGee

I have a list I can send to you if you want it of all the posters. Just names so you can keep up. Nothing else.

If you'd like it, you can mail me at [email protected]

No real names or info exposed, Red and others can vouch for that. Smile

And thank you for the crossed fingers and toes!

OP posts:
RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 11:59

Yes, no personal info at all on the list. Just so that you can try to keep track of things! Think there's a typo in mouse's email address above though! Am sure you can spot it...

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 11:59

Gawd - lack of sleep!

'[email protected]' not the one above!!

Like the idea of stopping at sobriety - will be good indicator of the thread for any new posters... I saw the title of this one a few times before reading it as I wasn't sure what it was about.

Wasindie ... love that quote! Can I extend it to terrible toddlers though? I thought sleepless nights with babies were horrid enough but its quite scary having a two year old screeching demands at you at 2am, or (as last night)playing jokes on you...

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 13:13

Wasindie

Brilliant!! I love that quote! I may go and put it as my fb status!!

I should maybe namechange to Dormouse today, so sleepy but about to go Shred with Jillian. Yikes!

Then shower and lunch as tinymouse is finally asleep!! Hoorah!! Whoops, no shouting! I've turned the doorbell off, unplugged the landline and put a note on the door to say 'baby asleep, knock quietly'

Grin

Back soon Babes.

MsGee - what jokes were being played on you?! Am intrigued! I think you are right about having something in the title which makes it fairly obvious about the thread content. Did you read JWN's original? 'Me and alcohol have ruined my family'. It certainly attracted this boozer's attention!

wasindie - so lovely to have you around regularly again!

mouse - hope the shred goes well! I had WeightWatchers soup for lunch so I am feeling very pious!

Mouse - my DD nickname when she was born was Dormouse as she was so sleepy and small. Ironic now that she rarely sleeps.

Red - yes I read the JWN original, mulled it over for a few days and then came across this thread separately.

As for jokes - DD is v bad sleeper and wouldn't settle. She also has v bad constipation problems (psychological according to doc, she won't let herself go). She was up from 1am and we kept coaxing her back to sleep. So at 3am she starts screaming I DONE POO, so excitedly (ok my life is dull, her bowel movements are a big deal) I ran / stumbled to her. No poo. When I tiredly informed her that no, she had not done a poo, she just looked at me and went "hee hee" (it was as if she was channelling mutley from the cartoon). I had to giggle. I giggled less when she did the same thing at 4am.

RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 13:47

MsGee - oh dear! At least she has a sense of humour!!

wasindie - you have a lot of 'fun' ahead of you!

MsGee · 24/08/2010 13:48

Wasindie ... ooooh twins, I would have loved twins! They run in my family so if we ever try for another DH is terrified that we have twins! Must be hard work when they are little but I am sure that there will be rewards when they start to entertain each other...

Toddlers seem to love running away from parents. My DD thinks its hilarious to run away from me the second we leave nursery and then to hurtle toward the car park, just to stop bang on the edge of the pavement, teeter, smile sweetly at me and and giggle whilst I have a panic attack.
