Oh Red, how heart breaking. It must be heartbreaking to have to go to school when you think your sisters are off somewhere fun.

Ooh, good luck grandma Grin

Happy new yr merlion

I am hiding in bed. Should be leaping out in anticipation of an invigorating circuits class this morning. I just can't face the dressing palaver!

Red - hope the class goes well and you can get an early night

Loti Good luck today and if you do have your tooth out, you are BANNED from housework for at least 24hrs. Wisdom tooth extraction is a definite day off work, ask any man.

Bibi Time to get a kitten? I too wondered what the gypo mums were up to but decided that's clearly the pinacle of achievement for them, having your daughters/daughters-in-law do everything. Can't say I fault that logicGrin.

Had good day yesterday out with BF but after school I found the sound of the kids' voices like the clatter of breaking china. Talked to DH and finally admitted that actually just the thought of the Imelda May gig, much as I love her music, was making me anxious - big auditorium, massive speakers, vibrating floor etc and could I just get him one ticket for his birthday. Was quite a relief, hadn't realised how much I'd been avoiding buying the tickets, fairly confident I'd get there on the night and immediately want him to take me home again. Left him thinking about what he wants (in a non-emotional blackmail way, mind).

Off to babysit my mum this am then it's DS1's Speech assessment at last.

Oh your poor dd silks. Hugs to you too. Glad you had a nice time with your bf.

Lol at no housework for 24 hours. As I have both dds today dh is coming home to look after them when I go to the dentist and if I do get tooth out fingers crossed he will be straight back to work as they are so busy!

Merlion · 02/02/2011 10:41

Silks hope dd manages to go again and starts feeling more comfortable. Glad you were able to speak to DH about the anxiety over the gig.

Loti good luck and hope to hear some lovely news soon! I had one of my wisdom teeth out last year and it only really hurt the day after. It was also impacted so dentist had to break and pull out sideways. Make sure you have loads of ibuprofen in supply.

Red hugs to you.

BBBB Oi hands off! It's a long time till September!

I am a FPG. I have two girls, asleep, in the same room at the same time and i am drinking tea and eating quavers.

silks poor DD Sad. I hope you can get the balance of medication right soon. Just a thought and she may well HATE it, but what is the current thought on suppository medication. I only ask because when DD2 had constipation the oral stuff did nothing, but the suppository had immediate effect. If she would agree to try (and if it is suitable) it may be preferable because the results are so immediate? Feel free to ignore Grin

red hope your teaching day jaunt and associated logistics are going ok?

loti I too had an impacted wisdom tooth removed. Well 2 actually, i at the hospital (under local) and one at the dentists. Thinking of you this avo and hope all goes well. Make sure they continue to prescribe ab's if they suspect infection as that is far more painful than the extracted tooth pain. IME anyway!

Red, poor boy. How do they see things so distorted?

Blueberry, dh said it felt similarly. He was also left to "sort" himself.

Silky, I hope all goes well for her today.

Waves to all. Off now to look for support regarding DD1's despicable behavior towards me. I reached the end of my tether. She does not respect me or mind me. She gets exemplary conduct reports from school so I know she has manners...just doesn't feel like I deserve them. It's crushing me because I want nothing more than to give her the world.Sad

Congrats to our first GRANDMA!!! Lucky that's amazing. And thanks. I'll survive. Wish I could lend a hand and let you rest a moment. My last tooth extraction (2 wisdoms) left me feeling loopy but in a good way.

I did find three other ladies with the IDENTICAL problem. Maybe my post can be the beginnings of a little support group.

DS2's Speech & Lang folk were lovely, agreed he has some language delay, want him in for therapy (3m waiting list though) and also put him on Paed waiting list with a view to maybe getting an inclusive place at pre-school in September. Because I happen to know that the local panel that decides places meets in June. Once more, relieved to know it's not all in my mind but yeah, a little sad to be in the system again.

LOTI Childcare does not mean housework. You are allowed to sit and veg in charge of kids.

TS Most of my issues with my DD are down to control I think, me not empowering her enough, not shoing confidence in her (usually because I'm too lazy to deal with a messy learning curve) or going too far the other way in a sink-or-swim scenario because I suddenly feel guilty and want fast reults(never works).

Hurrah Granny loti Grin. Fabulous - you get to sniff and cuddle and no interrupted nights apart from your own darlings Grin. Glad all is ok so early though and well done to DSD on no pain relief.

I am currently cooking a ham, awaiting 3 people to phone me back re work stuff and drinking more tea. DD2 still asleep Shock

silks glad DS has been seen by lovely people and hope that this time you can exit the system again as soon as possible. Please don't blame yourself wrt to DD. She is at an age of amazing things happening in her little world and she is sure to want control over some of them and be anxious over others.
Similarly for midisurfer, lashing out at those we love shows we are absolutely sure of those people and they are a rock for them. Hard for you though as i'm sure you don't feel like a rock inside and the constant battery hurts Sad. Lessons in learning empathy are tough for littlies to learn

loti congratulations on gaining a GD and losing a tooth :)

I am about to die of laughter or embarrassment not sure which yet! DD1's teacher just rang to recount a chat they had this morning, she didn't do it at collection time as it was a little sensitive. DD1 told her that DH had an op to remove 1 of his wil ly's as he had 2 and 2 will y's are bothersome!

DH never wants to drop her to nurser y again!
