Sorry to hear of your woes star. Taking dh out for dinner sounds like a good plan tho. Good luck with the booking in app

perty pu ShockGrin

well I have shipped dd2 to the cm dd2 was dying to go and suprisingly she was available! Should be trying to get my head down to rid the lurgy but keep doing things around the house Shock tis nice to be able to go at my own snail/worms pace Grin

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2011 11:37

Pert's friend speaks somewhat truthfully but the idea is more that the act of a ro usal thins mucus. So less the specific position and more of getting to your highest point with lots of motion involved. IYKWIM. Grin

Queenie great news!

Crap night. No time to discuss. Can't get DD1 out of bed. I hit my snooze for an hour so completely relate to how she feels. However, school is today. UGH!

SilkStalkings · 06/01/2011 13:41

Lucky Go make a cup of tea, The Archers is on in 20mins - feet up time.

PertyPru · 06/01/2011 13:46

Ah yes TS but it's the additional benefit of gravity you see - 1 + 1 = miracle cure. Apparently Grin. Sorry to cause so much Shock so early in the morning Grin

Merlion my scan is next Fri, when I will be bang on 12wks by my dates. Should get an updated EDD then. Bet you are looking forward to the 18th Smile

Loti hope you are taking it VERY slowly with lots of coffee breaks...

Lovely stay & play this a.m. at the children's centre, great space great company, DD loves it. They don't know if they'll be able to keep going after March though as our council are going to have some very hard decisions to make. Angry and Sad, I know I don't exactly need it all for free but I think they are really reaching people who do, as well.

SilkStalkings · 06/01/2011 14:11

ShockYikes, just booked our summer holiday flights with Flybe. 4 passengers, no baggage at all but £300 in taxes and card handling feesAngry. And Angry with my self for being a muppet about booking sooner when it would have been £200 cheaper. Thank God my folks are taking DD with them, means we can hire the smallest car too. Would it be illegal to use an Elmer suitcase as a booster cushion for a nearly 3yr old?

saltasaltasanta · 06/01/2011 14:44

never taught me that in medical school ... maybe it was one of the lectures that I didn't go to.

D&V x 2 now and I'm feeling queasy. 7 hours 17 minutes until bedtime.

saltasaltasanta · 06/01/2011 14:47

I'm a right barrel of moanyness at the moment.

Apologies.

I might strap the kids into their buggy and walk them around for a bit.

saltasaltasanta · 06/01/2011 14:48

which would be nice for all of us to get out.

PS Ds is napping at the moment, and DD being cute with toys, so not all bad!

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 06/01/2011 15:02

Feeling queasy eh salta? Could you be adding to our thread brood this year? Wink

RedLentil · 06/01/2011 17:41

Hello. Just hopping on and hopping off, but marking my place. Love to all here.

CrispyTheCrisp · 06/01/2011 22:38

LOL @ perty's suggestions. I amazed what a wide breadth of knowledge there is on the subject Grin

Flights booked to gay Paree for springtime. hurrah Smile

TS hope your day has been better?

QoD any news?

Merlion · 07/01/2011 05:38

Pert yes am v.excited but also v.nervous. You must be too. I think after the doctor 'suggested' it might be a dd I will be a little disappointed if it turns out it is a ds - hope that doesn't sound awful. Disappointed is probably the wrong word.

Salta hope you and the DCs feeling better. Loti that goes for you too!

QoD hope things are finally moving.....

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 08:34

Just a quick Q, do any of you know what your 08 babies weigh? DD2 jumped on the scales after me and came in at 2.10 (17kg) which puts her at over the 99th centile. Eek. And this is after not eating much for the last couple of weeks due to illness

Merlion - will be thinking pink thoughts for you Smile. I have never seen a problem with people having gender hopes. If you have the other sex then of course you will still love them, but no harm in a little dreaming about pink frilly dresses, ballet, glitter and all things sparkly Grin. Or maybe a tomboy Wink

FjorgynAndHotWater · 07/01/2011 08:44

Morning all Smile

It's Friday, woo hoo! Just got a few hours of internetting working to get through before the weekend!

Star I hope you find a babysitter and can go out for a nice meal tonight to cheer you both up.

Pert I hope your playgroup survives the chop. We are in danger of losing our local library, makes me very Sad and Angry too.

Silky ouch re extra taxes but I'm sure it'll be worth it. No plans for hols yet here (apart from another piss-up camping long weekend in Southweold, yay!) but I don't think there will be a plane of any kind involved Envy

salta hope you escaped the vomming.

Crispy your DD2 does not weigh 2.10, that's DD1 Wink unless you have told a big lie on the HotMamas (in which case sorry Blush) but I expect DS is over 3 stone by now if that makes you feel any better...

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 08:50

Phew, thanks Hots for the auditing, you are right she is 2 stone exactly so 12.7kg which brings her back in line where she has previously tracked on percentiles. please ignore me.

As you were Grin

FjorgynAndHotWater · 07/01/2011 08:52

you feeling your age mate? Wink

HippyHippopotamus · 07/01/2011 08:55

just found a quote that sums up how i feel about you lot. its specifically about bf because its from a bf support group but it applies to everything...

In our new way via the internet, women have found the community that used to be present in our villages and families, swapping breastfeeding advice, reminding each other how it is, and troubleshooting from a well of experience that is as deep as it is fresh. While I don?t think it makes up for in person contact and community completely I do feel it stands in the gap, a gap left by bad advice to women a few generations ago. I love my little community. It is my hope that every (breastfeeding) woman can find a community that encourages and supports her breastfeeding.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 07/01/2011 10:15

Awww hippy that's v nice and I do compleetly agree with the sentiment Smile

We do seem to be more about general ranting and sex tips these days though... ShockGrin

HippyHippopotamus · 07/01/2011 10:30

i'm sure sex tips and general ranting used to be part of the village culture too Grin

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 07/01/2011 10:44

Sex tips and ranting are the firm basis of any worthwhile friendship Grin

Eventful 24 hours here: DH has got a 2ns interview for that job (yay) plus three more interviews for other places Shock [proud] So much cheering up chez Star. Then, as we were heading out the door for work this morning, DS tripped over and gashed his head against the radiator in the hallway :( Claret everywhere, panicked mum and dad, trip to A&E. He is fine and was so brave about everything [double proud], and is now sporting a natty surgical glue/steristrip combo. He will have a big scar, but as he grows up I expect it will shrink/fade.

I did get a babysitter sorted for tonight but not sure whether we ought to go now Confused Is it wrong to think 'yes', when we'll only be 10 minutes away and the sitter is my NCT pal who knows DS inside out?

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 10:45
Grin

That is a lovely quote hips Smile. Just wondering what the village might have to say to DH. He is v depressed as his Boss is being a complete wanker, has brought someone in above DH without telling any of the team, reducing promotion prospects in the process. DH thinks it may be that Bosses boss are actually putting someone in who could replace tosser Boss, but this doesn't help now Sad. Boss even asked if DH was tendering his resignation earlier Hmm.
I have told Dh to keep a record of every conversation with relevant people, bring his appraisal info up to date and write a paper on what he as contributed to the business (winning contracts, employing & developing people etc). He is just on such a downer atm that he can't focus on doing this, which i think is SO important. His bosses main criticism appears to be that his expenses aren't up to date Hmm. Sorry for the splurge Blush

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 10:47

Oh brilliant news re jobs star. Fingers x'd we can follow suit here Smile

Poor DS Sad. If DS is ok for the rest of the day (ie: no sickness/lethargy etc) and you trust NCT pal that she will check on DS regularly and phone you if there is a problem then yes, i would go out and celebrate a nice positive day Smile

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 10:48

Oh, and assuming she is happy to do so.....

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 07/01/2011 10:48

YEs, he must do all of this Crisp and also get some solid advice on what his rights are. Recording everything will help if he ends up having to fight his corner in any way. He strikes me as a hardworking man - might the highest level managers be a bit pissed off to lose a good employee needlessly?

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/01/2011 10:57

Thanks star. He has just lost all of his fight Sad. I know when i was going through the redundancy you get some horrible things said to you which really dent your confidence and it is much easier to just curl up in a corner and hide. I think he is trying to log stuff now so will take him a nice coffee.
