I got the morning shift. Am looking forward to my lie in tomorrow already Grin. Trying to decide whether to do the work i need to do now whilst the DD's are watching N emo, or sit and drink tea?

I got a real lie in today Shock DH took the girls at 7.15 and I have only just been called as DD2 needed a feed and nap. The house is in one piece and tidy, both girls have eaten - who took my DH?

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/01/2011 10:13

We are now on Mad agascar. We have had brekker, DD1 is dressed as a fairy and wearing her party shoes and DD2 is dressed as a cat and eating a rubber egg.

Happy Birhday hippy. I am guessing you are being lavished with a champagne breakfast in bed? Wink

SilkStalkings · 29/01/2011 12:49

B*ocks, did a huge sneeze before lunch and the accompanying chest pain made me crySad, more tender now too. DH wants me to call NHS Direct or something but I reckon I might get an afternoon at A&E and an Xray for my troubles but pretty sure there's nothing that can be done. Mind you, an Xray might help convince DH to quit smoking...

Thai restaurant was great last night as it worked like tapas so we just got a continuous supply of little dishes to snack on so not too much of any one flavour and no peanuts (probably for H&S reasons.)

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2011 13:34

Silks there's rib cage shifts cause pain. I occasionally get that from working out. It's nothing to worry about. It will feel better in a few days. Save your money and just rest. Smile

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/01/2011 14:05

LOL TS there is no having to pay for xrays over here Grin

DD1 gone out with DH, DD2 asleep and i am meant to be working.....

We have friends for dinner tomorrow and i thought i would call my friend with a beef farm to see if she had a nice joint we could buy. She found us a mahooooooosive rump for £30. We will get steaks from it, it will feed 9 easily with loads of leftovers. DH reckons about half the price from Sainsbo's Shock. Oh, and she delivered it to our door this morning 2hrs after ordering. Now that is service Smile

RedLentil · 29/01/2011 14:09

Ouch, Silks. Deeply envious of your NHS though. We can't afford medical insurance here and live in dread of anything going wrong. I was cheered to pass my doctor in the street the other day and discover that she no longer recognises me. Smile That can't be bad.

Crispy. Having friends for lunch isn't a nutritious choice. Glad you opted for the beef instead. Grin Ba boom tish.

SilkStalkings · 29/01/2011 17:40

Have been flipping out bigstyle all afternoon, like last Saturday. DH thinks I'm depressed and I'm starting to think he may be right. He was supposed to be out tonight but when I got an 8pm drs appt and my parents couldn't come over I just flipped out and my mum called him and made him come home. I really frightened K with my cryingSad. I'm so tired :-(

luckoftheirish · 29/01/2011 18:04

Oh silks big big hugs... Really hope you feel better xx

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/01/2011 18:08

silks i was in terrible pain yesterday and had no patience with anyone Blush. Hence i made a doc's appointment - once she had said i was not going to drop on the spot and took some ibuprofen i felt much much better. I think the worry, tiredness and pain are not a good combo. If you do think you are on the edge of being depressed then worth mentioning to the doc tonight or perhaps make an appointment with your GP for next week?

Bath and early bed with a hot water bottle helped sort me out a bit last night. Worth a try?

LOL@ red, yes i think you are right - the beef will go better with the horseradish Wink

SilkStalkings · 29/01/2011 18:31

Lots of signs for me I think as well as the tearfulness - even less housework than usual, apathy, feeling unable to make decisions esp in shops or for my own benefit, less confidence about daft things, more than usual fantasising about having no kids, getting stuck in cyberspace or in computer games or the bath, counting the hours until sleep, just generally feeling rather useless and unSilky. Have realised today has been the third meltdown in about 10days.

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/01/2011 18:38

ok, so you recognise that there are some things out of kilter. That is a good start, just pants you have the chest thing on top which will exacerbate the overall crapness Sad. Do you have a nice GP? Is so, i would probably wait to see them next week - if not, then get it all off your chest tonight.

Hope you get a sympathetic ear this evening Smile

luckoftheirish · 29/01/2011 19:09

Good luck at the docs tonight silks, will be thinking of you. Hope you get things sorted xx

RedLentil · 29/01/2011 19:25

Thinking of you Silks. Please do mind yourself. You've had an awful lot on your plate lately. Ask for all the help you need ...

HippyHippopotamus · 30/01/2011 08:15

hips did you get to celebrate last night?

We are watching the tennis, apparently DD1 is 'as gooder at hitting balls' Hmm

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 30/01/2011 09:44

Morning :)

This time last year we were in Melbourne watching tennis! Now I am wrapped up on the sofa with a duvet, non working heating and 2 girls who don't know the meaning of sleep!

Silks - hope this morning is better.

Crisps - I don't doubt that at all :)

alittlebitshy · 30/01/2011 10:25

Morning!
bbb wow time has flown since your Oz trip. Sorry about no heating:(

hippy how is the ear?

silky hope dr went ok. but also, sorry you are feeling so down. It is very good news you are recognising it though. To make you feel better i also count down til bedtime. But i think it is because i love my bed, and i am so blooming tire din the week as i am not made for getting up at half 6 lol.

SilkStalkings · 30/01/2011 10:50

Morning.
Saw out-of-hours Dr last night, thinks it's just a torn muscle but because it's making me wheeze to see GP next week if it's not better. Also said to wait til I'm pain-free before assessing mood. Almost didn't make it because after half an hour wait, nearly nodding off in waiting room and jumping out of my skin at a door being shut I ran off to the car in tears convinced the Dr would tell me off for not being an emergency. Managed to steer myself back in just in time though and Dr was really kind. Still quite tearful this am.

In the meantime, my mum broke her wrist highland dancing last night! Operation tomorrow morning. Saddest thing is they cut off her wedding ring which has been stuck on for 40odd years since her first pregnancy swelled her knuckles. My dad is making us all tea round there tonight so I will stop off for some arnica en route natchWink.

Merlion · 30/01/2011 12:00

Silks glad that the Dr was helpful and hope your mood improves as the pain subsides.

Hippy hope you had a lovely Birthday.

DS is driving DH and I mental. He's been really really badly behaved at the moment. I really don't know what to do anymore nothing seems to be working.

RedLentil · 30/01/2011 12:02

Silks, is there any chance that dh and the children could clean and tidy one room for you today so that there's somewhere restful to be?

RedLentil · 30/01/2011 12:07

Pressed send too early there - your poor mum. Sad

Merlion, what's ds up to?
