Help me - I’m trapped in a Seasalt jumpsuit

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/07/2021 16:57

It’s the Treen Cove one, I’ve lusted after it since Siobhan wore it on Pottery Showdown. It went on with no issues, looks lovely, fits well and is flattering but…..

I’m stuck in the bloody thing. It’s been an hour and I can’t even free an arm despite unbuttoning it down as far as it will go.

Has anyone got this jumpsuit? Can you give me any tips on how to get out of it? I reckon I have about 2 hours before I need the loo.

Perhaps I should have gone for a size bigger for wiggle room knowing what I know now. I’m just going to post myself down to Seasalt HQ and let them deal with it.

Sorry, no helpful advice, but sound like they should be sold with a 'warning' label Grin
Hope you release yourself soon Flowers

I was wearing that very jumpsuit today, have never been stuck in it... Are you fairly long in the body? I do have to scootch myself down a bit to be able to slip it on and off shoulders.

Is there anyone around who can help you?

I'm wearing a seasalt dress at present Grin It takes a bit of wriggling to get on/off as I just pull it over my head

Oh op, I shouldn’t laugh, but…. Did something similar a while ago - also with a bloomin jumpsuit - so I feel your pain! I was about to go next door and beg my NDN to help me out of it. Managed it eventually with lots of wriggling and contortions!

I started to put a dress on in seasalt the other day, and had to stop halfway through, as I was certain that if I got it on I wouldn’t be able to get it off again.

From the look of it I can't see how you can be stuck. If you've unbuttoned it all the way down, the sleeves are loose and short, so surely it should slide off one shoulder to the waist, or maybe try shrugging it off both shoulders simultaneously so it falls backwards , like shrugging off a jacket.

Is there maybe a hidden zip?

30degreesandmeltinghere I think a changing room is worse Grin

I am quite pink in the face now and have a healthy glow on but will have to slink to my neighbour for help. Wishing now I’d worn a vest.

I am quite long body wise Rhinestone but will try more scootching.

It went on so easily, I can’t understand it.

Firstly sit down and have a few slow breaths. Getting worked up and pink in the face won’t help

If it’s past the date when you can return it: scissors? Cut the arm open from neckline to edge of left sleeve (if right handed) making sure you don’t snip your bra strap

Obviously this won’t work if you can still return it. But even knowing that is the worst case has helped me relax enough to sort things out before now.

There’s a scene in a film that I can’t remember the name of where the character Dislocates his shoulder to get out of a straight jacket. Could you try that? 😂

I have a lovely Ted Baker dress that I struggle to unzip when I’m ‘over refreshed’ As the buttons are teeny. I’ve slept in it once.

I think my problem is that I have broad shoulders Cowbells. The sleeves are roomy, the top fits neatly but buttons easily with no gaping. On paper I agree, it looks like a simple garment to remove but I am well and truly stuck.

I think if someone peeled it down from behind while I pull it up as far as it will go I might make it.

I feel your pain, OP. I once got stuck in an Abercrombie & Fitch jumpsuit.

At least it's a SEASALT jumpsuit.

I think the issue is lack of flexibility in the fabric? Have you tried lying on the bed and trying to wriggle out?

I'm sorry but this has had me howling with laughter!

I do think getting trapped in jumpsuits is more common than we realise Grin

I've got two of the seasalt jersey jumpsuits. I like them a lot. Need to strip to go to the loo though,

Being trapped in a jumpsuit is a perennial hazard for the long-backed among us.

Report
LubaLuca · 11/07/2021 17:23

Presumably you've tried getting it off both shoulders simultaneously - slip the whole thing backwards to give more wiggle room down your arms. Sometimes it's impossible to pull one arm out if the fabric has no give at all.

It took me ages to find out where she got it from Bitofachinwag she had it in the raspberry colour and it looked sooo comfortable.

I will be sending it to visit that kiln once I’m out of it.

Going to try the bed thing.

I've just returned the most beautiful jumpsuit because I couldn't figure out a way to do it up by myself easily. I gave up rather than struggle because what's the point of having something you can't deal with on your own? I'm still sad about it though

Have you got one of those trouser coat hangers with peg type things at either end? Peg it to each shoulder behind your head then find something of a suitable height to hook the hook off (door handle would work if kneel down), then wiggle your shoulders out away from the hanger!
