Help me - I’m trapped in a Seasalt jumpsuit

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/07/2021 16:57

It’s the Treen Cove one, I’ve lusted after it since Siobhan wore it on Pottery Showdown. It went on with no issues, looks lovely, fits well and is flattering but…..

I’m stuck in the bloody thing. It’s been an hour and I can’t even free an arm despite unbuttoning it down as far as it will go.

Has anyone got this jumpsuit? Can you give me any tips on how to get out of it? I reckon I have about 2 hours before I need the loo.

Perhaps I should have gone for a size bigger for wiggle room knowing what I know now. I’m just going to post myself down to Seasalt HQ and let them deal with it.

🤣
I once got trapped in a sleeping bag style coat. The zip would not go up or down. I was sweating and my daughter and I were in hysterics. Eventually I managed to wriggle the zip down enough to get out. I had visions of being cut out in the shop.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 11/07/2021 18:53

so glad you are free! I was another one getting anxious!

if you put it on again remember exactly how you get it on so you can reverse out safely.

I had to do similar once when I ricked my back reaching around for the toilet roll that some wanker flatmate had left on top of the cistern...the pain was incredible, but as I reversed the turn that caused it I felt and heard things clicking back into place. Shock

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/07/2021 18:59

DannyNeldenko I watched a Law and Order once where someone was being rebirthed as therapy.

It wasn’t a particularly therapeutic experience to be a sweaty, angry butterfly emerging from a linen cocoon. I shall decline your kind suggestion, thank you. Grin

ilovecherries I hope you got a voucher for a cup of tea and a scone after that, Flowers

Now you are free, try getting a bralette on over your head. One with a narrow band. That twists. So you end up with cups just below your collar bones and the twisted, bastarding band with pretty dangly lace is just high enough up your back to be really hard to reach and pull away from your body to untwist.
Never try to get one on or off if you are even slightly 'glowing' or damp after your shower.

@Wombat36

Got trapped in a wetsuit once, I feel your pain. 😎
I helped a random lady into a wetsuit the other week. She was on her own and fighting valiantly to do it up herself. I figured it’d be nice to help!

Fellow jock but I'm the rough end 😂

I nearly died in a Coast changing room in a phenomenally inflexible satin dress with a stiff bodice. I remember standing there with my head in my armpit, one arm pinned upwards and trying to see the price tag. It was £240, which somehow gave me the impetus I needed to wrench my way out...

Maria1982 · 11/07/2021 19:26

Oh gosh this made me laugh!! Then I looked up the Sea salt jumpsuit and I started feeling very claustrophobic just looking at it!! I can see how you would get stuck. The horrors

woodhill · 11/07/2021 19:27

@ginghamstarfish

Don't understand the love for jumpsuits. They look nice but don't you basically have to get naked just to go for a wee? The thought of doing that in public toilets and trying to keep it off the floor ..
Yes and having a cold back n Winter
Passthecake30 · 11/07/2021 19:32

I got stuck in a basque once, the changing room got hotter and hotter, I must’ve expanded in the heat. There was an almighty riiiiiiip noise before I was finally out Blush

TitsInAbsentia · 11/07/2021 19:34

@DannyNedelko

It's only difficult to take off the first time. Next time will be much easier. Give it a go and let us know how you get on.
Next time? NEXT TIME?! What kind of mad savage are you?! She's not going in there again unless a few ribs have been removed surely Confused
MauveMavis · 11/07/2021 19:38

Just checking you undid all the buttons on the front?

I have two of the jersey sea salt ones - super comfy and always get positive comments even though I'm the size of a small whale.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 11/07/2021 20:23

I once got stuck in a Next top in the change rooms. There was no one else in the change rooms and he could hear familiar sweary muttering. He nipped in (I was in the first one) to find me with both arms in the air like a polyester bondage outfit. He got me out eventually and I stomped out to find the assistant who asked “was it ok?” DH dragged me out before I exploded.
But one expects better from Seasalt.

misscockerspaniel · 11/07/2021 20:28

Ozziewozzie I hope that "fluff" wasn't a euphemism Grin.

I also had an incident with one of those M&S body smoothing things. It got stuck over my raised arms and head and I thought I was going to suffocate.

Thank you Op, this thread has really made me laugh. Mind you, I have had a look at the Seasalt site and am quite tempted.

Goodness, getting OUT of wetsuits is usually more challenging than getting it on. The poor woman is probably stuck in it FOR EVER now!

I got stuck in a Phase Eight structured dress in a changing room years ago. I couldn't get it over my hips so I pulled it up from the hem.

It got stuck at the point where my arms were reaching up to the ceiling, my face was enveloped in dress and my grey baggy knickers with un-modified bush poking out the sides were entirely exposed.

I had to call the sales assistant in. I have never quite recovered.

MrsBobDylan · 11/07/2021 20:48

Sorry, didn't offer any advice there op - are you still stuck?

museumum · 11/07/2021 20:57

I have a gap one that’s tricky to get out of. Buttons only go down to the waist, no lower so if you can imagine trying to take your coat off with the bottom of the zip still done up, that’s what it’s like. I have to wriggle my shoulders like crazy and contort one arm while simultaneously pulling it up and giving myself a massive wedgie.
It’s honestly not even slightly tight when on, the next size up would be like a sack!
