Help me - I’m trapped in a Seasalt jumpsuit

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/07/2021 16:57

It’s the Treen Cove one, I’ve lusted after it since Siobhan wore it on Pottery Showdown. It went on with no issues, looks lovely, fits well and is flattering but…..

I’m stuck in the bloody thing. It’s been an hour and I can’t even free an arm despite unbuttoning it down as far as it will go.

Has anyone got this jumpsuit? Can you give me any tips on how to get out of it? I reckon I have about 2 hours before I need the loo.

Perhaps I should have gone for a size bigger for wiggle room knowing what I know now. I’m just going to post myself down to Seasalt HQ and let them deal with it.

Just had to google the jumpsuit to make sure my mental image is spot on Grin

@Justsaynonow

For those struggling with shoulder issues and bras:
  1. turn a back fastening bra back to front so the fastening is in front
  2. fasten the hooks
  3. turn it back around so the fastening is in the back
  4. slip your arms through the straps and slip them over your shoulders.

Always put it on weak side first, and remove the weak side last - that goes for any article of clothing

Thanks

Yes, ii have been doing this for years but on Brastop site it was suggested that this was bad for the bras as it stretched them

I have been trying to do up round the back but can't with my sports bras

Paol · 12/07/2021 18:53

Oh @FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge are you out yet?! I feel your pain - I’ve had a couple of close shaves when trying clothes in in fitting rooms!! Reminds me of Jane Fonda posting photos of herself wearing a beautiful gown to some kind of ceremony and then posting a photo the following day after she’d slept in it as she didn’t have anyone to help her take it off! 😂😂

McShoeGirl · 12/07/2021 19:08

Glad you made it out OP. I got stuck in a plastic catsuit in a fancy dress shop changing room once. I was trying it on in my lunchbreak so was in a hurry. By the time 2 (male) shop assistants had extracted me and relieved me of my dignity, I returned to the office a bright pink sweaty mess and had to pretend to my colleagues I'd spent the hour in the gym...

Ddot · 12/07/2021 19:40

I once got the zip stuck on my Jeans I had to stand in bath and wee 🤬

SpringLoadedJizz · 12/07/2021 20:03

I'm glad you got out OP.

I managed to get stuck in my wedding dress a few weeks before the wedding when I was home alone. I'd been losing weight and wanted to see how I was doing, it was a corset back so I figured it would be fine to do on my own without having to fully do it up. I ended up having to wear it around the house until DD got home from school and we then had a crazy 20 minutes trying to get me out and hide the dress again before now-DH came home from work. Blush

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/07/2021 20:06

@Ddot my brother did that once on a school trip. Poor lad was mortified. Luckily there was spare uniform on the school bus.

I have always done my bras up at the front and then scooched them round. Cannot for the life of me do them up at the back. Am mid 40’s. Blush

TheWeeDonkey · 12/07/2021 20:16

Thanks OP, this is thread is the tonic I needed today. I'm so glad you're now free and your DDg has recovered too Grin

@MrsBobDylan you've finished me off with your story of terror in the Phase 8 Changing room, I've had similar experiences myself Grin

SingleHandSue · 12/07/2021 20:20

I once got stuck in a corset in a sex shop Blush

I had a Halloween party to go to and had my heart set on a sexy morticia look. Nowhere else sold them so I took myself off to a sex shop. There were no changing rooms so the helpful assistant said I could use the staff room as there was a mirror behind the door.

It took me ages to do up and then I realised I couldn’t reach the hooks to undo it so I tried to wriggle through the lacing.

I was well and truly stuck when the young lad knocked on the door to check I was alright.

I panicked that he thought I was trying to nick stuff out of bags so threw open the door.

He was quite shocked to see my tits half out which is odd really when you think he works in a sex shop.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 12/07/2021 20:22

I got stuck in a sequinned evening dress in a changing room once. I wrestled with it for about 20 minutes, rubbed my inner arms red raw on the sequins and had visions of having to buy the bloody thing even though I didn’t like it and wear it around a shopping centre. In the end I managed to get out and then found the concealed zip.

33feethighandrising · 12/07/2021 20:22

I got stuck in a posh frock in Debenhams changing room. The zip got stuck.

I tried to call my friends who were in the shopping centre but there was no signal.

I eventually had to ask the sales assistant for help, she couldn't get the zip to budge either so she went and got a MASSIVE pair of scissors and a colleague and cut me out Blush

66babe · 12/07/2021 20:25

Sex shop ! @SingleHandSue
That's got to be the best one yet !
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Angrywife · 12/07/2021 20:29

@Needcoffeecoffeecoffee

I've done it too last week. Think that was a sea salt one. Non stretchy material. I had to call dh to help who wasnt too happy as he was working. But my other alternative was to sit in meetings with my arms stuck slightly behind me and boobs on showBlush
I'm crying laughing at that 🤣
LookItsMeAgain · 12/07/2021 21:10

I bought this lingerie set from Primark recently -
www.primark.com/en-ie/all-products/womenswear/clothing/underwear/matching-sets/black-lace-bralette-set/p/131292334
and I managed to get the top part on but it was a bit of a squeeze (I really shouldn't have progressed past my shoulders getting it on) because when I tried to take it off, I just couldn't. It would not go back over my head!
I ended up having to cut it off as I was not going to call one of my kids to help me (I might have asked DH but he was working one of the few days per week he works in the office and not at home).
I had quite the aerobic workout trying to take it off me but I couldn't contort myself into whatever position was required to get my boobs free and then get the skimpy material back over my head.

Grin That's such a funny mental image - trying to style it out while discussing last years accounts.

Posts like this make me love mumsnet even more xx

Craftycorvid · 12/07/2021 22:04

@SingleHandSue there are maybe worse things to find yourself stuck in in a sex shop...,I’ll get me coat.....

MarianneUnfaithful · 12/07/2021 22:06

Grin

I once got stuck in between the linking and the dress, and with my arms through the wrong bit in Jigsaw.

My head was inside the dress and I was all muffled and my arms were trapped so I couldn’t open the cubicle door.

I had to shout for an assistant.

All so undignified.

I didn’t have the strength to do the turning back round - I lived in very stretchy bras for the best part of three years.

I also tried the Molke bra and had to be rescued by my DD.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 12/07/2021 22:27

Oh my, I for one, am very glad I’m not alone. So many cloth/lacy/sequinny human traps out there. But for those who are in retail….does the shop/head office just write it off when you get the scissors out to free us?

SingleHandSue that is some image I have in my head Grin

It’s still looking at me. I half expect the nasty shoe maker from The Red Shoes to look at me, look at it and all of a sudden I’ll be buttoned back into it and made to twirl til I’m dead. Or wee myself. Whichever comes first.

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 12/07/2021 22:56

Or both Grin

I have a really sexy nighty, lace top amd silk bottom half. Once in, it does not come off again though, which kind of defeats the purpose

10 yrs on I still have not brought myself to throw it away Shock or wear it again Hmm

ALongHardWinter · 12/07/2021 23:17

Sorry,I've nothing helpful to say OP as I've never worn a jumpsuit in my life, but your post made me laugh! Grin.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/07/2021 23:43

Excellent thread, OP.
I'm quite glad you didn't do what I immediately thought to, which was to look at the reviews...
Gorgeous but tricky
Bought for warmer days so haven’t had the chance to wear this gorgeous jumpsuit properly yet.
Tried it on and fit is great and quite slimming (I’m a petite 16)but boy was it tricky to get out of!Thankfully no^ one saw my impression of Mr Bean fighting an octopus!^
That said I love it way too much to send back and sure to find a way to get out of it even if I need to find a seamstress to alter it.
