Bad WFH habits

The past few months I have been napping during my lunch break. Every day for about 45 minutes. Once when I first started napping I overslept so now I set an alarm Blush

Twice a week I get an almond croissant from the coffee shop for breakfast.

I’ve gone from washing my hair 4 times a week to every 10 days.

What bad habits have you picked up?

I put a plaster over the webcam if I'm in the bath though because I worry that it'll accidentally turn on somehow and my colleagues will see.

Onekidnoclue · 08/10/2020 21:36

@temproasted

My worst habit (and I'm ashamed to admit this) (and also gutted that no-one else has said it yet) is getting out of bed so late that I think 'right get logged on then back up for shower, clean teeth etc' and then getting breakfast and stuck into work and then realising at lunchtime Blush that the teeth didn't get cleaned. Surely it can't just be me... can it?
Definitely not just you Wink
PullAPi · 08/10/2020 21:37

Oh and yes, I have snoozed my alarm until 8:55 a couple of times most of the time

BlueJava · 08/10/2020 21:38

I eat too much chocolate and drink too many coffees at home for sure!
I get up 1 hour later (as no commute) but always up by 7, couldn't not be! Always shower and wash my hair, at desk by 8.

Ideasplease322 · 08/10/2020 21:38

Snacking, oh the snacking😳

Endless cups of coffee - all day.

Stating work at 7am, working till 7pm, never turning the computer off and checking, then responding, to emails before bed.

Never leaving the house. I used to walk to work. I still do, but it’s 7 steps instead of 6,000.

Iamthewombat · 08/10/2020 21:39

Eating a Dime bar for ‘breakfast pudding’ after boiled eggs. Shameful. I stopped when my jeans got tight.

Having TV on in the background whilst working and getting too involved in Judge Judy.

Amani · 08/10/2020 21:42

Waking up at 729am for a 730am start (freshen your during morning break though!)

Koalaismyspiritanimal · 08/10/2020 21:42

@temproasted thought it was just me Blush so glad it's not!

Mitsouko67 · 08/10/2020 21:42

Up early, log on and then walk to nearby cafe and back for coffee and croissant. Takes around an hour all told.I love getting out and seeing nature, admiring people's houses. I dont feel too bad as i used to take a 30 min coffee break when I was in the office and don't any more. It's a nice start to the day and means I get out and get gentle exercise as I tend to get caught up in work during the day.

Home and work through all day bar short lunch break. Very busy at work but start to cook dinner late afternoon and do laundry when I can.

Very very jealous. I came on expecting to see a thread about getting into bad habits of working longer days and taking fewer breaks Blush. Covid has sent our workloads through the roof so my wfh experience couldn't be more different from what's described here. Anyone getting bored of lunchtime naps/sex/baths who would like to swap for a few weeks? Grin

Coffee4Queen · 08/10/2020 21:46

@temproasted No not just you but I didn’t want to admit that in my opening post, I was waiting for someone else to own up first....so thank you Grin

Me too! On Teams (camera) meetings pretty much all day often with external and very senior people who look like they've had their hair professionally blow dried, silk blouses and jackets!! . Ffs!!

Can't stop snacking. Have put on a stone I worked really hard to lose last year.

Blanketseeker2020 · 08/10/2020 21:48

Why has no one else said farting??? Or is it just me...?! Blush

Babyroobs · 08/10/2020 21:48

Definitely a lot of snacking . I set myself an amount of work to do and then treat myself to a snack. I listen to you tube music whilst writing up notes and get evening dinner prepped in my lunch break.

temproasted · 08/10/2020 21:49

Phew re the teeth cleaning then Grin (me showing my mucky teeth there)

yellow055 · 08/10/2020 21:49

I absolutely hate my job even more so since work from home.

I'm constantly getting called . I work in an inbound call centre taking calls from patients ( healthcare role ) but as part of my role I take calls from other staff who escalate calls to me . The staff always call even when I am in a status of being unavailable , so I can be on the phone to a patient and they will try calling me on teams and then be asking me on the chat if I'm free ( whilst I'm on calls that require concentration) also I will be on the toilet and they will be calling me . They have zero respect since working from home.

itsgoodtobehome · 08/10/2020 21:50

Definite day time naps
Sex with DH while kids are at school
Haven’t worn a bra for months
Ditto for drying my hair and wearing make up
Exercise classes during the day
Online shopping during boring meetings

yellow055 · 08/10/2020 21:50

Bad habits are thinking about turning my laptop off and just saying fuck this

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/10/2020 21:51

Our senior management do a lot of all-staff webinar things - I tend to put them on like You Tube videos, and do something else. I made a curry during the last one.

I’m on camera a lot so am doing hair/makeup/proper (not work) clothes, but enjoy being able to do housework in work time. Like pp I resent the intrusion of work in my home.

temproasted · 08/10/2020 21:51

@Blanketseeker2020

Omg yes to the point where I'm genuinely worried that I'll be doing it openly in the office when we go back as I'll be so used to farting freely Smile (Really feel like I should leave this thread now I've shown myself to be the dirty-toothed farter Blush)
orangejuicer · 08/10/2020 21:53

@PullAPi

I've taken to bringing my laptop into the bathroom and working from a bubble bath Blush I plonk it down on the toilet lid next to the bath and occasionally send a few quick emails and then enjoy a soak 😂

Also the napping, snacks, not gotten out of my pyjamas for months, chores during meetings.

I've watched a few boxsets too now.

This is the best!

I'm guilty of most of what's been said already. Today was a particularly slobby day. At least I changed my pants though!

Maria53 · 08/10/2020 21:53

Several of these. Forgot to brush my teeth until 3PM today! Omg. First time that has happened.

Not sure watching TV is a bad habit Grin but I enjoy having some Netflix time

Working late more often because work bleeds into home.

I was also getting up 5 to 9 but this week have started forcing myself to get up earlier. It's horrid but finding it needs to be done.

Forgetting to stop and eat also. I am actually not snacking and drink about the same amount of caffeine.

SarahBellam · 08/10/2020 21:55

Wait, there’s a thing called breakfast pudding?! How have I got to 52 without knowing that?

Dawnlassie · 08/10/2020 21:56

Basically most of the countries productivity has gone down the shitter.
