Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

I changed my living room around so now we face in a different direction to watch the tv.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/08/2020 20:38

I managed to find clothes dye in Wilkos. Tesco near me didn't have any.

lachy · 18/08/2020 20:39

I'm going to buy a new hoover tomorrow

Justajot · 18/08/2020 20:40

I've just done french plaits for DD and they look ok. She only said "ouch" about 3 times. I think I'm a long way behind you on braiding.

KittCat · 18/08/2020 20:41

I'm about to go and pick up some sweet and sour chicken balls...

WisestIsShe · 18/08/2020 20:41

I've just taken the dog for a walk and DD collected enough blackberries for two jars of jam.
The flask sounds great, the sort of thing that would make my day.

Justajot · 18/08/2020 20:41

We got a new microwave. It doesn't have a turntable. Though that might be too exciting for this thread.

MrsT1405 · 18/08/2020 20:42

I cooked beef cheeks today for the first time. Pig cheeks are normal around here but I've never done beef. I think its winter food but dh thinks otherwise.

iklboo · 18/08/2020 20:42

I've got to attend a training session - as a trainee - that I wrote the training materials and end of session quiz for. Yeah. Me either.

billydilly · 18/08/2020 20:43

One of our cats has gone off Dreamies so I've bought him the Waitrose own brand, he likes those better.

motivationalpigoftraal · 18/08/2020 20:44

I'm sitting in the garden and it's not cold

SilkCashmere · 18/08/2020 20:44

We are going for a drive tomorrow so we can shout with relief that a stressful situation has ended.SmileConfusedBlush

BloodyBollockingHell · 18/08/2020 20:44

I have Greek toes.

It’s the most exciting thing that has happened to me in 6 months.

I figured out how to wear a swimming hat so my hair doesn't get wet in the pool. Now researching chlorine neutralising soap as I feel like I smell like the pool all the time.

I found a really nice recipe for cooking fish with a breadcrumb crust so we had fish and spinach for dinner and the kids had some cheesy mash too.

DS played me the can-can from his grade 1 flute book and seemed to actually enjoy playing for the first time.

ReallySpicyCurry · 18/08/2020 20:45

Ahh this is the stuff.

My local chemist sells clothes dye. It baffles me because it often doesn't sell anything you'd expect of a chemist, but if you want to dye your knickers fuchsia you're sorted

How did you cook the beef cheeks MrT?

As for the training session and the microwave sans turntable... No words

I got the first coat of paint on my lounge walls without getting any on the cat.

BringMeThatHorizon · 18/08/2020 20:45

I was going to make tuna jacket potatoes for dinner tonight but realised halfway through that we didn't have any tuna. So we had cheesy beans instead.

Ace1185 · 18/08/2020 20:45

I am so happy with my new vaporizer for my bedroom

Mrsbclinton · 18/08/2020 20:46

Managed to buy dd's shoes for school in M and S today. She'll be in Year 11 and went for the first pair she tried on... Result!

Gilead · 18/08/2020 20:46

Dd and I had a lazy French bread , cheese and olives tea. We’re on the sofa watching television under a heated blanket now.

FightMilkTM · 18/08/2020 20:47

Oh I loooooove a halo braid! I had one for my wedding and I wish my hair could look like that everyday. It’s currently half wet from the shower I had a couple of hours ago and still hasn’t even been combed.

My car which I love lots broke down today and is in a car park 5 miles away from home. It’s 13 years old and wouldn’t be many people first choice but I love it so I hope it gets fixed tomorrow.

It did mean that my 1 year old went in her second car ever today as my MiL came to my rescue and I realised that the bab’s car seat hadn’t been moved since we installed it before she was born. I spent the whole car ride home saying ‘look you are in a different car! The seats in here are BLUE but in Mummy’s car they are BLACK Shock’ she was just staring at me like Hmm

BeeFarseer · 18/08/2020 20:47

We bought a car yesterday. It's only our second one as a family, and it has replaced the old banger that we were too frightened to drive more than a few miles from home.

I'm so looking forward to jumping in the car at weekends and being able to go to places without worrying we'll break down.

SilkCashmere · 18/08/2020 20:47

I have Egyptian toes.
