Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

I'm watching the Meg. It's firmly in the so bad it's good category.

LBOCS2 · 25/08/2020 23:31

Good choice @QuestionableMouse. I've seen it at least three times, it's highly enjoyable 😁

hedgehogger1 · 25/08/2020 23:40

I just had an issue with not being able to turn off my water flosser. Sent several jets of high powered water into my face. The wrong bits of my face. My eyes are now flossed

BikeRunSki · 25/08/2020 23:44

Our kitchen lights weren’t working earlier. Now they are.

boatyardblues · 26/08/2020 00:12

The M&S Mac ‘n’ Cheese bites we had with dinner were underwhelming.

Lots of trees have blown down in our area. DH decided against his evening walk ‘just in case.’

The cat really doesn’t like the sound of the wind blowing down our chimney.

Marcipex · 26/08/2020 00:57

I have African toes which is ridiculous. I am white and English/Irish/Dutch.

DidgeDoolittle · 26/08/2020 02:23

I can't sleep.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/08/2020 07:46

Kirsten is supposed to reach us around 10.

This is true. The Aldi ones are top though.

Spudlet · 26/08/2020 08:17

It’s really blowing a hooley here today. Half considering getting the fire lit, just for the cheerfulness.

I went for a run last night and wore a Long sleeved top because I thought the wind might be a bit much. Then I got so warm I took it off and ran in my sports bra. I’ve only ever done that once and I chickened out after two minutes that time. Blush Very glad none of the neighbours saw though!

AnyFucker · 26/08/2020 10:15

Work is very slow today.

I see they are having a calima in Lanzarote today

GBroGal · 26/08/2020 10:15

This has been lovely. It's like all the inconsequential "in passing" chit-chat I used to have with friends at work. I've loved reading about everyone's toes, your minor domestic disasters, what you've all had for supper - even the updates on what the weather's like round your way. Thank you all, especially @ReallySpicyCurry for starting this (and I had a really spicy lamb curry last night - and I'll have the leftovers tonight too, with the naan that I forgot to get out of the freezer yesterday)

Ninkanink · 26/08/2020 10:37

It’s recycling day.

I’m about to put in an order on Sous Chef - Korean and Japanese ingredients, in the main.

But also a cute little sushi serving set. 🥰

Xiaoxiong · 26/08/2020 10:41

I made sourdough discard crackers this morning to eat with cheese and salad for lunch, and when I put my hand in the oven glove I got stung because there was a fucking wasp in there. Thumb now looks like a moderately sized pink fir potato.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/08/2020 11:07

I've ventured out to get a croissant and milk.
I only got slightly wet.

Jemimatheragdoll · 26/08/2020 11:14

I have a headache wine induced

Spudlet · 26/08/2020 11:37

@Ninkanink That sounds nice!

I am debating going to the supermarket with DS at the moment. There are a few things we need because we forgot to double check the click and collect order the night before, but taking a 4 year old around a supermarket while keeping social distancing is a nightmare... but I want to do some baking and am missing a number of vital ingredients... DH has a day off tomorrow though so might go then instead, by myself. So much less stressful.

Did some yoga this morning while DS larked about on my gym ball and have just received a parcel - a spare hitch for DSs trailer bike, so I can do the school run as well as DH. So will get the spanners our when the wind drops (or more likely set DH to work on it tomorrow!)

QuestionableMouse · 26/08/2020 11:39

I slept funny and my back hurts. 😔😣

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 26/08/2020 12:03

I have Greek toes, which surprised me.

I forgot to put the bin out last night and by the time I realised this morning it was too late.

NoraEphronsNeck I'm reading the book of your username Grin

SunshineCake · 26/08/2020 12:24

My dog stood by the door so I opened it. She decided not to go out and is laid by my feet. It has taken me a few minutes to realise the noise I can now hear with the door open is the neighbour on their treadmill. God help us if we were terraced or detached.

Neveranynamesleft · 26/08/2020 12:37

Thought I had put too much onion in the quiche but we 've just had it for lunch and it was fine. Sometimes we worry for nothing.

FabulouslyFab · 26/08/2020 12:38

I rediscovered a freestanding towel rail in the shed, put it on Freecycle and someone is coming to collect it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2020 12:45

I’ve replaced a halogen bulb with a 4w led & put stuff for a bulky collection into the garage.

I feel cleansed.
