Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

@Itwasgoodwhileitlasted

I tried out a new razor in the bath tonight. The difference from a disposable bic was astonishing.
What razor did you get?

My toes are Greek!

I filled the green bin with garden waste today.

SkyMoo1 · 18/08/2020 21:49

I finally found a pair of skinny jeans for my ridiculously pear-shaped body that look ok and are actually comfy.

Musmerian · 18/08/2020 21:50

My dishwasher has been broken for 6 weeks and NAC Appliance repairs are arseholes. Avoid them.

vertigohello · 18/08/2020 21:54

@shartsi

After 3 years I finally found a builder who returned my call and appears to be interested in building my extension. Now I am beginning to doubt him cos he is so easy going and is ready to start in a week's time. Can it be real?
A builder who is, in summer, ready to start in a week?

Run. Run for the hills.

Good builders a booked a year in advance.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 18/08/2020 21:57

I am feeling quite peeved at having Greek toes rather than Egyptian/Roman toes.

I have devoted hours of my life to learning to read Hieroglyphs. Surely that should entitle me to Egyptian toes, no?

BarbiesWorld · 18/08/2020 21:58

4 year old DD ate curry for tea. All of it. And she even said it was very nice.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 18/08/2020 22:00

We had a takeaway delivery from a great local pub last week. But...they lost our order in the system and we had to call them, and by the time we got through to speak to someone it was really late. They apologised, sorted out the delivery within 30mins and best of all gave us free cocktails and chocolate brownies to apologise! I’m still thinking about the freebies now.

Freshprincess · 18/08/2020 22:02

I have Greek toes, which is quite surprising as I’m from many generations of not-Greek scousers.

I lit my new candle tonight and it’s smells lovely.

My neighbours are on holiday, so I fed their cat. It’s all go here.

I kept 20yo DS company for about 6 hours of shopping in last few days. It astounds me that he pulls 32R trousers off the rack... & they fit. He buys size 9 shoes & they always fit. Male bodies seem so simple.... but he literally had to visit 16 shops to find the 'right' suit jacket (that cost under £300, anyway), with right "natural fibre" look to it. Ties seem to be some kind of minefield, too.

stclair · 18/08/2020 22:08

I’ve just folded up the bunting into a satisfying pile of triangles after dds birthday today

SleepySheepy · 18/08/2020 22:10

I've just bought a second hand chicken coop on eBay, and my growing tomatoes are turning red. We've also got an alarming amount of Haribo in the house because people keep buying it for us and only 1 person here can eat it (2 veggie, 1 too young)

buttcrackmcheese · 18/08/2020 22:13

I needed coriander for a recipe today and found the only half alive plant Asda had. The rest were at least 95% brown slime.

freesolo · 18/08/2020 22:13

I bought a new bread bin, I haven't had one in 2 and a half years!

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...
cheeseychovolate · 18/08/2020 22:14

My husband used the hoover for the first time in a year

cheeseychovolate · 18/08/2020 22:15

Love the bread bin where's it from if you don't mind me asking?

Igmum · 18/08/2020 22:16

I want to go to bed but keep reading Mumsnet instead Grin

LilOldMe · 18/08/2020 22:16

I was really tempted to buy a Revlon hair styler earlier today, after reading some positive posts about it on MN. But then a bit later there were some negative posts, so I decided not to.

Todaywewilldobetter · 18/08/2020 22:17

Ooh, if you're bored, read the reviews for the sugar free Haribo. Brilliant. Won't change your life but will raise a chuckle! Google it!

Mrsjayy · 18/08/2020 22:19

That bread bin is lovely where did you get it?

Mominatrix · 18/08/2020 22:19

DS and I are learning How to play Texas Hold em poker. It is fun - even playing for jelly babies.

AintPageantMaterial · 18/08/2020 22:19

The bottom door shelf of my fridge fell off and my filter jug and the two glass bottles I pour filtered water into crashed to the floor and the shelf is busted but It’s not a total disaster because I think I found a replacement on the internet and my new vax hard floor cleaner mop/vacuum hybrid thing made a good job of cleaning up.

BlueJava · 18/08/2020 22:20

I repainted my white living room white.

freesolo · 18/08/2020 22:20

Cheeseychovolate it's from Manomano ( sorry don't know how to do a direct reply)

Bubbletrouble43 · 18/08/2020 22:21

We were lazy and had a Morrisons meal deal for 12 quid for dinner. It's amazing value, 27 quids worth of goods ( 2 large pizzas ( put one in freezer) large tub coleslaw, fancy garlic bread, cheesecake and a decent rioja) I can't get over it. Recommend.

VariousVeins · 18/08/2020 22:22

I asked my cat if it was her fur on the landing as I had vacuumed it earlier. She didn't answer.
