Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

Me and dd walked to the top of a local hill for the first time today. I’ve just put the new duvet cover on the bed (grey paisley pattern). We had kedgeree for tea.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/08/2020 21:08

My toes are Greek - how thrilling!
Off work today for a week and it started raining.

managedmis · 18/08/2020 21:09

Pic of rocks outside of FIL's holiday cottage

Babababababybelll · 18/08/2020 21:09

I nearly bought a glue gun today. Nearly. Decided against it at last minute.

Regularname · 18/08/2020 21:10

Great thread OP
I finally remembered to take my water bottle downstairs to wash it properly.

I have Celtic toes

rslsys · 18/08/2020 21:11

APC delivered 2 minutes after we got home from shopping. Major achievement as they won't leave parcels and their on-line tracking says they will deliver 'sometime today'.

SpeedofaSloth · 18/08/2020 21:11

I have recently started to write my endless to do lists with a nice fountain pen. It's much nicer than a biro and sometimes I even write down things I have already done that day, just for the pleasure of writing Smile

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/08/2020 21:13

I found a dream house in case I win £88million on the EuroMillions tonight.

Now all I have to do is win.

DM's shopping was delivered two hours late.

They'd said they were running late on the website and I had to talk her down but they came through as I assured her they wouldSmile

TitanicWasAGreatMovie · 18/08/2020 21:15

I’m thinking about getting my fringe cut back in when I have my hair cut tomorrow. Its nearly grown it out, but I think I look better with it.

borntobequiet · 18/08/2020 21:15

My cat is feeling better after her medication was changed. She told me so.

SpeedofaSloth · 18/08/2020 21:16

And Egyptian toes here.

ssd · 18/08/2020 21:16

@managedmis, nice rocks.

ReallySpicyCurry · 18/08/2020 21:16

FIL's rocks are lovely, really unusual

Cherry tree vs apple tree poster, you are mad. You get blossom on an apple tree AND apples. Even edible cherries don't produce fruit half the time.

I used to only write with a fountain pen, where do you even get them these days?

OP posts:
ssd · 18/08/2020 21:16

I can't see my toes.

TheReynoldsPamphlet · 18/08/2020 21:17

I have Egyptian toes.

Ooh, and MIL bought me a packet of Percy's Parents from M&S today.

BigcatLittlecat · 18/08/2020 21:18

DH finally bought a new pair of shoes that are not golf shoes! He had to have a pair for his DF funeral!
Both cats are cross and won't settle and I'm not sure why! Probably my fault!
I'm just about to put the bins out!

Supersimkin2 · 18/08/2020 21:18

I changed the sheets by washing them straight off the bed, spinning twice and putting them back on damp.

Lovely dry, crisp, cool bedding for deep sleep on a summer's night.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/08/2020 21:19

I didn't win £88million.

doasIsaynotasIdo · 18/08/2020 21:20

I have a rare evening to myself and am loving the solitude. I have Mongolian toes.

FawnDrench · 18/08/2020 21:20

I decided to leave our bed linen on till tomorrow as I just couldn't be bothered to change it today.

DH just asked me if I'd like a cup of tea and I replied "yes please".

It's nearly dark outside.

ReallySpicyCurry · 18/08/2020 21:21

Are you in the Gobi desert supersimpkin, the sky has been tipping mist and rain upon my head for the last two days, add in damp sheets and it's a fast track to pneumonia

My dad boarded my loft today and I conquered my fear of ladders to put some stuff in it. Very pleased

totallyyesno · 18/08/2020 21:21

I figured out how to wear a swimming hat so my hair doesn't get wet in the pool.

Is that even possible? Can you share the secret?

@ifIwerenotanandroid That is indeed a lovely house. Good luck with the lottery win.

I live abroad and can't normally get cheddar but this week Lidl had a British week and I stocked up . The fridge is now rather full of cheddar!

hamstersarse · 18/08/2020 21:22

I tried to book a hair appointment and they were fully booked for a month. So I didn't bother

I went to the local shop and forgot my mask. My basket came to 6.66. I wondered if it was a sign.
