Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

I told DP it was blue bin week so he brought both up a flight of stairs (4 in a block) and realised everyone else in the street had their grey bin out so he'd to return them (back down flight of stairs) and bring the grey one up. He wasn't nearly as annoyed as I thought he would be. Smile

@BringMeThatHorizon - Cheesy beans are superior to tuna anyway!

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 18/08/2020 20:48

I felt really sick (pregnant) and cried on the phone to my parents. Then I had ginger squash and collected DS from nursery and felt fine again!

babyguffingtonstrikesagain · 18/08/2020 20:48

I forgot to post my mum's birthday card yesterday. I'm crap at posting cards.

purrswhileheeats · 18/08/2020 20:48

I bought a new plant pot yesterday so I could plant my basil. My basil is still sitting waiting in a beaker of water with massive roots.

My cats need worming but I forgot to pick up tablets from the vet AGAIN Blush

SentientAndCognisant · 18/08/2020 20:48

I’ve run out of fairy dishwasher tabs, need to order more on amazon

BeeFarseer · 18/08/2020 20:49

@FightMilkTM I'm so sorry, your post wasn't there when I wrote mine and it looks awful coming immediately after yours. Blush

I hope you manage to get it fixed. Flowers

Smoothyloopy · 18/08/2020 20:49

I've picked what colour I want to paint the bathroom.

latheritup · 18/08/2020 20:49

I ordered edible glue today.

DeeDimer · 18/08/2020 20:49

The filter light in my car came on today.

ScrapThatThen · 18/08/2020 20:49

Next door have topped the tree that normally blocks our evening sun (let's hope it stops raining so I can bask in evening sunshine).

Tlollj · 18/08/2020 20:50

My toes are Norwegian!
Or maybe Egyptian I can’t decide.

ReallySpicyCurry · 18/08/2020 20:50

DH has Roman toes! An international incident is ongoing. If I tell you that he's Catholic, I'm "from a Protestant background" and we live in NI, that may go some way to explaining the drama we're experiencing here. My toes are more Celtic than his, and I don't even know the Hail Mary.

Do you think you can have one foot one thing and one foot the other?

SentientAndCognisant · 18/08/2020 20:51

Sunnydaysandsalad · 18/08/2020 20:52

Ds16 spent ages meticulously buttering his toast.. Then worried for his sweets unattended in his room ran off to check where dpuppy was..
Came back and ddog 1 had eaten his toast. Lots of expletives.
Ddog 1 showed no signs of remorse at all..
Have just caught him telling ddog 1 he hasn't forgiven her yet!!

ReallySpicyCurry · 18/08/2020 20:52

Cheesy beans AND tuna.

Scrap I'm so pleased to hear about your tree. We gathered round a window and cheered when our neighbour did similar

I have a very very slow puncture on the rear left tyre of my car.

I tried got DD to try on her jeans and joggers today, inspired by another thread. NONE of them fit at all and most of her tshirts are belly tops now. Also her wellies for forest school are a size too small and I have a horrible feeling her waterproof won't fit either.

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 18/08/2020 20:53

I started filling in my planner for the new school year AND coloured in my timetable. TBF, this is only dull and unexciting if you are not a teacher. If you are a teacher, you will know that colouring in your timetable is Very Important. Fact.

SentientAndCognisant · 18/08/2020 20:53

My wee Irish granny used to have a thing about feet
The devil can’t hide cloven hoofs, always look at a stranger’s feet

fussychica · 18/08/2020 20:53

A neighbour who I'd never met stopped to talk to me while I was gardening and told me how down and lonely she was feeling. While I was shopping later I got her some flowers to cheer her up. She was shocked and delighted when I dropped them off. Made me feel good tooSmile

howlathebees · 18/08/2020 20:53

I planned Christmas presents today

thepassionchair · 18/08/2020 20:54

I have Aboriginal toes.

QuitMoaning · 18/08/2020 20:54

I bought a new Brita water filter. It makes me very happy each time I use it. I didn’t realise how manky the old one was until I looked at my new o e.

Mumthedogsbeensick · 18/08/2020 20:54

I'm laid on the sofa listening to DH tut every time the bubbles get switched on in next doors hot tub. Exciting times.
