AIBU to leave it out overnight?

I have a load of washing on the line. OH just checked it and he says its still pretty wet. No sun here (Grrr) so there is no chance it will dry before we have to go out in an hour.

I say it's not a big deal, we can just leave it on the line overnight and get it in tomorrow when it's dry

He says if it's left out overnight it won't stay clean.

Solve this clash of opinions please dearest vipers (I have no idea how it would get dirty on the clothes line)

I'd leave it out but I'm a slattern so not sure you should follow my advice!

Wolfiefan · 10/04/2017 17:05

It'll get night on it! Grin
Where we used to live I used to put washing out before bed as I didn't have time to do it in the morning before work. Here we had bats. I stopped that. Bat poo isn't something you want on your washing.

SalemSaberhagen · 10/04/2017 17:06

But it will get darked on Shock

Gizlotsmum · 10/04/2017 17:07

But it won't dry over night outside ( ours never does) I would bring it in...

robinia · 10/04/2017 17:07

Often left it out overnight. Never had a problem though doesn't dry completely if it's not warm enough.

Boooooom · 10/04/2017 17:08

Do it!

dementedpixie · 10/04/2017 17:09

I never leave mine out. It ends up with cobwebs and bird poop on it

MrsChopper · 10/04/2017 17:10

But it will get darked on

This!!! YABvvvvvvvvvU!

SuperManStoleMyPants · 10/04/2017 17:12

Just leave it out. It be fine.

JustCallMeKate · 10/04/2017 17:12

And spiders will drag their willies over it.....

AlternativeTentacle · 10/04/2017 17:13

I leave mine out all the time. Makes it easier to iron some things [note, I don't do the ironing, that's himself what does that]. Never had bird poo, or cobwebs.

Vegansnake · 10/04/2017 17:15

SPIDERS...they will crawl in and lay eggs in your clothes..lots of them live in my washing line pole..I'm always shaking and double checking clothes dried on the line

LittleWingSoul · 10/04/2017 17:17

And spiders will drag their willies over it.....

^This Grin

MrsGsnow18 · 10/04/2017 17:17

Anytime i'be accidentally left mine out overnight, it's gone straight back into the wash in the morning. Mostly because I find lots of little insects on it Confused

offblackeggshell · 10/04/2017 17:18

DM always said that leaving washing out over night was second only to hoovering after 5pm in levels of slatternliness.

I regularly do both. Grin

Hidingtonothing · 10/04/2017 17:22

Yes yes to spider willies/cobwebs/darked on, all issues for me and mean I never leave mine out. NDN will leave hers out all week while she's away on holiday which is one of a long list of reasons we will never see eye to eye Grin

rainbowunicorn · 10/04/2017 17:23

Are there no birds, spiders or insects that can do nasty things to the washing in daylight hours then?

There are some very strange replies on this thread

Sandsnake · 10/04/2017 17:25

Leave it out! The early morning sun will help
to dry it.

moofolk · 10/04/2017 17:26

If he really wants to bring it in and thang it inside and then hang it out again in the morning then let him, it's no big deal.
Otherwise leave it where it is.

WateryTart · 10/04/2017 17:27

No, no, no! It will get covered in dark.

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 10/04/2017 17:31

If he really wants to bring it in and thang it inside and then hang it out again in the morning then let him, it's no big deal.

100% this. I think the idea that clothes will get dirty just from hanging on the line overnight is ridiculous and crazy, but if your OH wants to bring them in, why stop him?

LettuceMash · 10/04/2017 17:31

My record is three weeks before I bought it in

Was still clean ish

Marmalade85 · 10/04/2017 17:31

I leave mine out. Didn't know spiders drag their willies on it though. ShockConfused

TheSnowFairy · 10/04/2017 17:32

darked on?!

Is the dark dirty? Grin

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 10/04/2017 17:32

Didn't know spiders drag their willies on it though

Also owls blow their noses on it.
