AIBU to leave it out overnight?

I have a load of washing on the line. OH just checked it and he says its still pretty wet. No sun here (Grrr) so there is no chance it will dry before we have to go out in an hour.

I say it's not a big deal, we can just leave it on the line overnight and get it in tomorrow when it's dry

He says if it's left out overnight it won't stay clean.

Solve this clash of opinions please dearest vipers (I have no idea how it would get dirty on the clothes line)

This is hilarious. Unless I've missed it and its been posted I'll try and find the article about the bat in the bra.

Oh lord above. The picture or the 'recreation' half way down!!!!

SmileEachDay · 16/04/2017 22:30

How the actual fuck do you not notice a bat?!

Pansy2013 · 16/04/2017 22:32

Nope, I would never intentionally leave my washing out overnight to dry. It loses it's clean fragrant detergent freshness. Even in the daylight I find most jersey type fabrics, PJs, T shirts etc, tend to take hours to dry and often end up like cardboard, totally defeating the object of the fabric conditioner. And I a not a fan of insects, spider webs, or general outdoor type odours (country smells, lol). In the summer you can guarantee one of the neighbours will light up a barbecue before any washing has had a chance to fully booked dry on the line. I will only put sheets and towels on the garden line to dry.

How the actual fuck do you not notice a bat?!

They can be quite small and I guess if it was a dark coloured bra you might not see it. Alternatively it might just be a good excuse to get your tits in a national newspaper.

SmileEachDay · 16/04/2017 22:42

Pansy you should read the thread. Insects are the least of your problems.

Ivy are you suggesting she got a bat from someone's overnight washing and deliberately inserted into her bra? 😂😂

reawakeningambition · 16/04/2017 23:05

:)))

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 16/04/2017 23:21

Smile we only have her word for it that it ever actually happened.
However there is a splendid picture of her in said bra with an incoming bat as illustration.

Shboogiebop · 16/04/2017 23:45

Smile I'm gonna give my spider friend a good talking to! But at least there's no badgers or foxes on my balcony, they'd struggle to get through the security door downstairs.

Penhacked · 17/04/2017 00:18

My friend the other day did a proper little shriek because....wait for it.. no she hadn't left the gas on....She had LEFT THAT MORNING'S WASHING IN THE MACHINE!! UNTIL 1PM!! THE SAME DAY!! It took me ages to actually get the problem at all. I was just like, meh, I'm happy if it gets done within 24 hours. Anyway morning dew is magical fairy stuff isn't it? Surely that's good for clothes? The dew cleans off the darked on bits and then the early sun bleaches the worst off of the spiders' willies.

"ScapeCOAT"

Effing autocorrect.

AGnu · 17/04/2017 13:16

My 5yo has helpfully drawn a picture of the problems involved in leaving clothes out at night. As you can see, all the clothes are getting darked on, there's an owl about to peck them, a fox coming to eat the clothes & a big daddy long legs on the green... thing... You can't just go out to get it in because you might step on Mr Prickly Hedgehog.

AIBU to leave it out overnight?

Best MN diagram EVER!

If I'm ever involved in a parking dispute, can I borrow yourDC?

WateryTart · 17/04/2017 15:02

Well done, small Gnu.

SmileEachDay · 17/04/2017 18:00

Good work gnuchild this thread needed a diagram.

Nixie60 · 17/04/2017 20:59

Excellent diagram!

Ceto · 18/04/2017 01:08

Gnu, I can't see the spider properly, it it dragging its willy across the green thing?

reawakeningambition · 18/04/2017 16:15

The green thing is an armchair. The white void above it is occupied by the ghost.

Wauden · 20/04/2017 09:56

Please can this go into classics?

Nixie60 · 20/04/2017 11:03

Wauden I think it is already

Campfiresmoke · 21/04/2017 00:53

If your clothes get DEWED on and it's 1st May then you become extra beautiful if you wear them. It's the fairies wot do it.

Campfiresmoke · 21/04/2017 09:35

I feel such a fool! You may think I am naive but I honestly never knew about the whole hedgehog dab drying thing.
We have hedgehogs in our garden and what makes me shudder is I've actually been feeding the dirty buggers. The worst of it though is now I know what they have really been doing when they spilled their saucer of water. It's obvious now when I think about it but a hedge hog has rediculously short and stubby arms - similar to a T-Rex - and obviously couldn't make use of an actual penis beaker...
but a penis saucer is ideal for their perverted needs.
I've been such a slattern!
