AIBU to leave it out overnight?

I have a load of washing on the line. OH just checked it and he says its still pretty wet. No sun here (Grrr) so there is no chance it will dry before we have to go out in an hour.

I say it's not a big deal, we can just leave it on the line overnight and get it in tomorrow when it's dry

He says if it's left out overnight it won't stay clean.

Solve this clash of opinions please dearest vipers (I have no idea how it would get dirty on the clothes line)

I also use matching pegs Halo

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 11/04/2017 22:13

But the badgers will see your knickers! How will you ever look a badger in the eye ever again? What if you meet a badger in the bank on a drizzly Tuesday afternoon? The shame!

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 11/04/2017 22:23

Mysteriouscurle - that's not tree sap droplets.

If the police helicopter is overhead, they will take pictures of your darked on washing and post it on twitter. Crimes against laundry, and hosting a washing line of ill repute (subclause a.3.iii arachnids) - together these flagrant disregards for decency wll result in a custodial sentence. No doubt about it.

Trooperslane · 11/04/2017 22:24

You're a pile of weirdos.

iamapixiebutnotaniceone · 11/04/2017 22:28

Thanks for the reminder! I need to bring mine in now Grin

JustCallMeKate · 11/04/2017 22:30

Kate you do know that your husband's willy will fall off, don't you?

I'm now wondering if the experiment is worth the risk but I cant be arsed getting up out of bed to go get them 😂😂

SmileEachDay · 11/04/2017 22:38

You're doing it for Science kate. Stay strong.

minesapintofwine · 11/04/2017 22:39

I always leave my washing out and mentally not stick two fingers up at my neighbours when I do it.

However, dis be true, I do find it to be very crispy the next day. Ah, this thread has been enlightening as to why.

5OBalesofHay · 11/04/2017 22:43

Bring it in and stick it in the dryer l. You've done your bit

SummerHouse · 11/04/2017 22:46

On your washing is spider willies, badger eyes and bat crap. I would leave it out. But I would have an edgey, sinister feeling that all was not right with my world. Like when I let my 4 yr old wipe his own bum.

Ohyesiam · 11/04/2017 22:47

What is your dh on about? It will get diet over night? Does he think darkness is made out of ink or something.
Of course you can leave it out.

Some people love to make life more complicated than it is.

SmileEachDay · 11/04/2017 22:49

You have no idea.

SummerHouse · 11/04/2017 22:52

Has anyone else got the disturbing mental image of the spidars or do I need to seek help?

Ohyesiam · 11/04/2017 22:54

Have just read the thread.
Am now in despair.

My whole life had been darked.

SmileEachDay · 11/04/2017 23:06

And the spider jizz, ohyes, don't forget that.

glueandstick · 11/04/2017 23:07

I can't. Spider willy issue aside, what would the neighbours think?! I'd hate them to think I was slovenly (or further evidence for the idea).

I come out in a cold sweat even thinking about putting two lots out of different washes. It looks like I wash darks and whites together, which is A CARDINAL SIN.

SoupDragon · 11/04/2017 23:13

DS once drew a picture of a spider when he was in reception which included a fairly graphic representation of "where the web comes out, mummy!"

I suspect I know now what spiders drag over darked on laundry.

Megatherium · 11/04/2017 23:15

You do realise that the Dark Knight used to be just the Knight till he got left out on a washing line overnight, don't you?

SummerHouse · 12/04/2017 07:05

Oh lord. This is why dark chocolate unnerves me. Now I understand.

DancingLedge · 12/04/2017 07:32

Won't anyone think of us lot in council houses?
Darking at nights, goats in the day. Our washing is never safe.

WateryTart · 12/04/2017 08:03

Be fair, Dancing, you still have your enormous televisions bought from your benefits. That must be some consolation.

AstrantiaMajor · 12/04/2017 08:04

Washing line laws have taken a new turn. My elderly Greek Orthodox neighbour never could resist telling me off EVERY time I put my washing out on a Sunday. My worst crime was the day after my MiL died. She came hot foot to tell me that I should not be doing washing at such a time, it was very disrectful.

Ever since she had a fall getting the washing in a night she leaves it out. I wonder if dare tell her about Spider Willies on her Under crackers.

SmileEachDay · 12/04/2017 08:31

Send her an anonymous note Astrant like the thread with the man on Tinder

intergalacticbrexitdisco · 12/04/2017 09:17

I thought the Dark Knight went around with a laundry basket, rescuing people's DARKED ON knickers before it was too late. Is this not the case??

Megatherium · 12/04/2017 11:14

Goodness, Astrantia, if you leave your washing out on a Sunday does Satan wipe his bum on it?
