AIBU to leave it out overnight?

I have a load of washing on the line. OH just checked it and he says its still pretty wet. No sun here (Grrr) so there is no chance it will dry before we have to go out in an hour.

I say it's not a big deal, we can just leave it on the line overnight and get it in tomorrow when it's dry

He says if it's left out overnight it won't stay clean.

Solve this clash of opinions please dearest vipers (I have no idea how it would get dirty on the clothes line)

I leave mine out for days at a time often in the rain too.

steff13 · 10/04/2017 17:33

What on earth is "darked on?"

KatharinaRosalie · 10/04/2017 17:33

I happily leave mine out, it smells so nice and clean afterwards. What does he think will happen to it? Bats will shit on it?

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 10/04/2017 17:35

What does he think will happen to it? Bats will shit on it?

Don't be ridiculous.

Birds shit on it.
Spiders drag their willies on it.
Owls blow their noses on it.
Bats dry their hair with it.

happypoobum · 10/04/2017 17:36

I am shuddering at the idea of leaving washing out to be darked on. For all the aforementioned batpoo/spiderwilly/owlsnotting reasons.

Please just don't.

I promise you will regret it Wink

JustCallMeKate · 10/04/2017 17:37

Birds shit on it.
Spiders drag their willies on it.
Owls blow their noses on it.
Bats dry their hair with it.

And of course it will GET DARKED ON 😂

Marmalade85 · 10/04/2017 17:38

Thebookis I'm laughing but I know I shouldn't. Didn't realise how serious it was.

Do you think slugs masturbate on my night washing? Do frogs cry frog tears into my wet towels?

JustCallMeKate · 10/04/2017 17:40

It will also get night time cooties on it.

HappCatt · 10/04/2017 17:40

I wouldn't.

But I'm not quite sure why. 🤔

Heratnumber7 · 10/04/2017 17:41

Why on earth wouldn't washing stay clean on a line overnight?? ConfusedHmm

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 10/04/2017 17:42

Birds shit on it.
Spiders drag their willies on it.
Owls blow their noses on it.
Bats dry their hair with it.
Slugs masturbate on it.
Frogs cry frog tears into it.
Foxes get foxy on it.
Ghosts put it over their heads and pretend to be people pretending to be ghosts.
Hedgehogs use it to dab dry after using their penis beakers.

And IT WILL GET DARKED ON.

vj32 · 10/04/2017 17:43

My washing line is on a pigeon flight path so I wouldn't because of genuinely high chance of bird poo.

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 10/04/2017 17:44

I'm thinking of turning this into a children's book.

The Washing That Got Left Out Overnight

JustCallMeKate · 10/04/2017 17:44

You forgot about the night time cooties Book Grin

Marmalade85 · 10/04/2017 17:44

I heard moths steal pillowcases as they believe them to be the reincarnation of long since dead mothy ancestors

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/04/2017 17:45

And cats will canoodle on it

LittleGreyMeow · 10/04/2017 17:46

Squirels will steal your bras if large of chest like me and use them as hammocks.

I did find my bra in a tree once, so it is true Grin

Plus it will get darked on and no hot wash will remove this.

Oakmaiden · 10/04/2017 17:46

"second only to hoovering after 5pm in levels of slatternliness"

Where does not hoovering at all fit on the scale of slatternliness then, if hoovering after 5pm is the very worst you can do? Or was that just unthinkable for your mother?

KitKat1985 · 10/04/2017 17:49

I do this quite often, usually because I put laundry in the washing machine in the morning, go out and then by the time I get back in the mid-afternoon and hang it out it won't dry in time. In fact I'm leaving it out tonight.

I have no idea what people think will happen to the clothes left out at night that won't happen in the day. Birds poo in the day, as do spiders make webs etc etc.

happypoobum · 10/04/2017 17:51

KitKat I don't think you've read the thread properly........................

birdlover1977 · 10/04/2017 17:52

I'm laughing so hard at the replies on this thread!!

SmileEachDay · 10/04/2017 17:53

But Kitkat

In the day, the washing gets just lovely clean light on it.

At night...

TheSnowFairy · 10/04/2017 17:54

KitKat according to this thread you will suffer the horrors of it being darked on 😱

applespearsbears · 10/04/2017 17:56

I have actual tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks Smiledarkened on IS a thing I never leave mine out

MrsHandles · 10/04/2017 17:59

I have nothing to add other than this is a brilliant thread!

spider willies and IT WILL GET DARKED ON are being added to my vocabulary with immediate effect Grin
