Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Done n dry 2loads wash n fed everyone
Watch dvd with zoolets pm
Lots arguing between girls and with me and them ds on Xbox kept out firing linethatll
I swear lil zoo (10yo) is the most arsey at mo,even out arsing dd2(night on impossible feat) don't like being constantly back chatted and argued with even over stupid little things and they've start team up and laugh at me...feeling very down trodden and defeatedSad

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/05/2018 19:51

X posts stressy seems I not only one struggling antsy attitudes today

Shannaratiger · 30/05/2018 20:44

Evening everyone

Sorry brain not functioning enough to do individual hellos

Not having a good FLYing month, = why I haven't been here.
Summary of the recent, positive-

DS survived SAT's without his anxiety going into hyperdrive Smile

Dd is happy because her favorite teacher is her class teacher for year 10, Special needs school so staffing abit different.

Sold the Dyson because it's too heavy for me and DH to use. Now have a fantastic Shark which I love!

Not good

My Bursitis in my knees and hips is getting more painful - stairs and walking painful. Doctor was investigating why my right foot was agony all the time, but not getting far. I went to see a chiropodist for a free initial consultation. He knew straight away what the problem was - hypermobile joints. This is the same thing that made Ds's knee keep just giving way; Dd has insoles because her foot can't support her high arch so her foor keeps falling inwards. My right foot is doing exactly the same as Dd but because it's been happening for so long my big toe has been pushed so far over it's squeezing the 2nd and 3rd toe! Doctors Tuesday to very firmly ask for proper fitted orthotic insoles! Hmm and a referall to rheumatology.

Finally DH has been signed off work and today we saw the neurologist who diagnosed Parkinsons. He's been prescribed Dopamine to hopefully stop the shakes. Have to fill the DVLA form out which is worrying because he does driving for his job!

Will have to spend more time with you guys for motivation and conversation, can't handle real life chatting right now.

Sorry that was a really boring post.

To Do tomorrow

Cinema to watch Solo
Tonight's washing up Blush
Today's washing to put away
Wash DS's bedding
Vacuum behind under units in our bedroom. We will probably not be able to move after moving all the furniture but the parts that have been done look so great makes the rest look even worse!

Hope everyone has a good evening

Will be back tomorrow after cinema! Grin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/05/2018 20:48

Shanara, not a boring post at all and no wonder you haven’t done much flying FlowersFlowers.

Cagliostro · 30/05/2018 21:04

Hi shannara so so sorry about the health issues. That royally sucks.

So ASDA are unable to just send the replacement parts. No, they have to send the entire bed, and then send someone else to collect the bits we don’t need. FFS. Even more annoying, they are sending it Friday, when I had booked tickets for Greatest Showman at last 😡

Turns out DS isn’t keen on seeing it anyway and DH wasn’t terribly fussed so they’ll stay home and I’ve invited a friend and her DS so that’ll be nice.

So annoyed about the bed, I know it’s small fry it just seems like one thing after another and I was really looking forward to putting her in her proper bed tonight, she is definitely too big for the basket now! But she will have to have two more nights in it now.

shannara Flowerswe have hypermobility here.bloody pita.lil zoo has in worst.spends lots time doing physio exercises.sorry lots other things are crap

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/05/2018 21:09

I have to say, with you saying your post was boring Shannara, the absolute best bit of this thread is the chat and hearing about people’s lives (although of course it is never good to hear people going through difficult times). It’s what keeps me here, as well as the vain attempt to declutter, and is never boring Smile.

Scoopofchaff · 30/05/2018 23:17

Evenin' all! [Falls on virtual food kindly provided by Zoo]

Yes, sorry CAG forgot to say, decided to go for a new Scottish/Irish version of my NN this time Grin That is such a PITA about the bed! Life is never simple is it? As if you haven't got enough on your plate!

Shannara I'm so sorry about your dh's Parkinson's diagnosis Flowers

I hope all the pain you are suffering caused by hypermobility is relieved after treatment.

Poor you, not surprised rl conversation difficult, sorry things are so hard Flowers

Another great list Goth hope your cat cheerier tomorrow!

Crikey you definitely don't need any more exercise after your v active day Toostressy

Hope you have a better night tonight Foxes.

Glad progress was made Carbonella!

Waves to I've and Tidy and everyone I've missed!

Out half of day but really failed on the Flying front. Started things and didn't finish them. Every single room of the house is suddenly back in a terrible state again.

carbonella · 30/05/2018 23:33

Nice evening clearing up the kitchen with dh and watching that Hugh grant series on BBC- we rarely snuggle up on the sofa together. Was good. Sleep well everyone

Tidyhomewannabe · 31/05/2018 05:07

Dd2 came in at 330 and was really fussy to settle , which meant I was fully awake by the time she did! So decided to get up and catch up a little on the chores whilst everyone is still in bed Smile ahh the peace and quiet Brew
Ta da
Tidied living room
Fixed the sofa cushions ( what is the obsession with kids and jumping on the sofa ? They can’t just sit down , they throw themselves at it like they’re in some sort of free fall ha ha)
Dusted living room
Dining room tidied and dusted

To do
My brain won’t figure out a full to do list , but I am going to tackle dd’s craft table, which has been used as a dumping ground and is piled so high, that I daren’t touch it in case it all falls off Grin

I am hoping that everyone else is still asleep and not up at this crazy time of morning! I’ll update whether I survive and conquer the clutter pile before the kids get up .

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/05/2018 06:53

tidy my favourite time to clean is in the peaceful hour/minutes when all else are still sleeping.its when I get most constructive stuff done

foxessocks · 31/05/2018 07:02

Ive been up since 6.39 but achieved nothing! I don't think I'm a morning person. Also I worry that if I get up and start doing housework I'll wake everyone else up anyway!

Ds just waking up now, he slept through again yay! Bbl with my list. Hopefully get more done than yesterday, we aren't quite as busy today.

Shannaratiger · 31/05/2018 07:05

Morning all

Cag how annoying about the bed. Hope you enjoy Greatest Showman and come home to a lovely built bed.
Zoo I'm just really annoyed that i didn't realise something wasn't right with my foot and got it sorted earlier. I think we sometimes focus more on the dc's and forget about ourselves until it gets really bad. Sometimes crap TV and a rest is more important than washing up, although I do hear FLYlady whispering in my ear sometimes. Wink
TooStressy it's nice being able to vent and not worry about friends negative reactions. Also other people don't always appreciate the satisfaction of a clear surface or finding the floor.
carbonella snuggled up watching Hugh Grant sounds like a perfect evening.
Tidy 3:30, hope you can have a relax later. Well done for constructive catching up.

The Shark is sitting in our bedroom looking at me as if daring me to not use it today. Wink hopefully will burn off some of the calories from the popcorn!
Dd woke us up at 6 am as always, by the summer holidays she might manage to lie in until 6:30!

Remembered the bacon in the fridge last night and mentioned bacon and eggs for today to DH. Of course he then wanted a bacon sandwich so got half the washing up done whilst it was cooking.

My stomach is telling me it's breakfast time so time to turn off the laptop and get going.

Have a good day everyone.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 31/05/2018 07:14

Hi all, I managed to break my phone last night Angry. Thankfully I have an old one but may not be on here for a few days while I get a replacement sorted Angry.

Cagliostro · 31/05/2018 07:29

Oh I would love to be like that. I am not a morning person generally. Although my sleeping has gone totally up the spout lately so I have been awake a while this morning. But in this house with thin walls and creaky floors it’s impossible to get stuff done without waking the entire house - in a bigger house it may be different so maybe once we’ve moved. I’m really struggling to drop off ATM too but can’t risk medication as baby ends up in bed with us. So will just hope that Cagletini will sleep a bit better in the new bed and that will enable me to sleep better too.

Hi again tidy I know just what you mean about DCs barrelling into everything. We were wondering where to keep the bits of flat pack until the screws arrive - DH suggested downstairs would be safer (as obviously they can’t stay where the Moses basket it in case they fall) but I said then it won’t be safe FROM the older two! They aren’t naughty kids but they have no idea of space and strength, and having ASD they stim a lot. Nothing lasts in this house. (The flatpack is now at the foot end of our bed so safe from/for everyone!)

I need to do some stashing and dashing this morning when everyone’s awake. Parents coming round for a bit so need to make an effort! Will then all be out for the afternoon though. I also need to strip the bed again so I can wash the mattress protector and pillow protectors (we have spare bedding but not spare protectors, must rectify this) but on second thoughts I’d better leave that till tomorrow since DH will be off and can remake the bed (I really struggle strength wise with that and won’t be able to put the baby down anywhere while I do it - this room is a hazard). Soooo glad we have a tumble dryer.

Stressy I am definitely not one of those who find parenting easy! 😳

I'm not a morning person either Cag although I've sort of had to become one as this is an early bird country. I do get loads more done when I am up with crack of sparrows, but always feel utterly wretched until about 11am Grin

Urgh. I am desperate to get out of the house and run far away today, but the problem with that strategy is that all the mess will still be here when I get back

Confused
foxessocks · 31/05/2018 08:31

That should have said I've been up since 6.30 not 6.39 - I wasn't trying to be really specific!

I'm going to attempt a power hour before I have to leave to take dd to play at a friend's house.

Tidyhomewannabe · 31/05/2018 08:56

zoo I don’t do it all the time, but I do enjoy pottering about while the house is quiet. I am glad someone else does this too - makes me sound a little less crazy !

Yay for the sleep through foxes !

shan enjoy your breakfast ( I had mine at 4am and have just eaten a slice of cheesecake - I’m calling it brunch Cake to make me feel less guilty for eating it at this time in the morning!)

stressy hope you get your phone sorted soon , we rely on them for so much don’t we, I often think I would get so much done without my phone.

Good luck with the stash and dash cag nothing like the threat of visitors to motivate to get the chores done - I have my mum coming to stay next weekend - I will be in panic mode next week haha , thanks for the links!

scoop running away sounds like so much effort, just attack a little bit of the mess and I’m sure you’ll feel much better !

Ta da
Craft table is cleared and cleaned, persuade dd to go through her things with me so we can organise it a little better. We’ve done a little bit, she’s now having breakfast and I’m having a coffee.
Nagged oh to set the new router up that we’ve had for 6 months Hmm I’ll be nagging him to do other forgotten jobs as the day goes on haha
Paid some bills and checked on the bank, I’ve been a little more organised with money lately, so it’s nice to see the hard work is paying off and the bank is recovering from taking an extra long maternity leave!

To do

Finish crafty bits
I’m going to have a powernap when dd2 sleeps later.

foxessocks · 31/05/2018 08:58

I've still done nothing. I'm just faffing. On a go slow today.

Oh actually!

Ta da
10 minute workout

To do
Daily routine
15 minutes decluttering living room
Dusting in living room

Cagliostro · 31/05/2018 09:21

Everyone is awake and I still haven’t gotten up! Problem is I get so sort of ‘stuck’ (mentally I mean).

DH had words with DD this morning as she mentioned how boring this half term has been! She wasn’t meaning to be rude at all, and really she would have been perfectly happy to just play outside with her friend (in childcare most of this week or she would’ve been around more), but it did upset me TBH. School holidays have to be my time to rest, as we do SO much in termtime, they are very lucky kids actually. And it reminded me that while they aren’t naughty, or spoiled in a material sense, they don’t really appreciate how much life completely revolves around them. That’s where I need to be stricter I think. Guilt may be a factor at the moment though as obviously with baby we are more limited. And I don’t want them to feel guilty about me struggling to take them to things (like we’ve been on a couple of trips recently, which were fab, but exhausting for me) especially with my health issues, but equally, they do need to appreciate what is done for them a bit more I think.

Reeeeeally need to get up now. But got sucked into an MN thread. Oops

Have claimed on phone insurance. £75 excess but should have new phone soon Sad. Am so stupid and clumsy sometimes.

Cag, thanks so much for thread leading for the last 2 months. SC, thanks for doing June, happy to do bits and pieces. Will await new phone Hmm.

Scoopofchaff · 31/05/2018 10:07

No worries! Smile

Oh yes, new thread is here btw!

Scoopofchaff · 31/05/2018 10:09

Yes, Cag you have done amazingly well to juggle everything and run thread. You deserve a trunk full Cake Star and Halo!

Thank you very much Toostressy much appreciated and hope insurance comes up trumps soon!

Scoopofchaff · 31/05/2018 10:13

Oh yes (again!) Cag forgot you did double run of April and May which deserves a medal Flowers Flowers Flowers

Stressy I have a copy of 'How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk' and it has lots of good ideas. The Book People are waiting for it to come back in (much cheaper than anywhere else) but I have a copy of the Teen book in the same series on order from them as this is the age I teach. I just wish there had been Mumsnet / similar books around when mine were young - I might have made a better fist of motherhood.
