Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Dinner tonight- smoked haddock, spinach and spring onion mashed potato, butter beans
Coconut ice cream

BlueEyeshadow · 01/05/2018 16:54

Afternoon! Fell off the end of the last thread a bit, and haven't been flying much either. Done lots of stuff today, but don't know quite what, and procrastinating wildly over other stuff...

Dinner tonight? Was going to be curry, but might be kedgeree now - similar but better suited to ingredients to hand.

Computers are stupid stupid things.

I have a migraine.

Have a lovely evening all!

Bearyinlove · 01/05/2018 20:17

Hello all! Hope it’s ok if I join you? I looked at last months thread a bit and decided I now need to join in and sort out my house! Although I will be a bit delayed starting as I am currently away from home until Saturday... oops

I have a pre schooler and a baby and my house is really getting me down. I seem to tidy it and within hours it looks rubbish again! But when I’m back home I’m going to try and do lots of little jobs often rather than a big huge house clean every so often when I get fed up... Thats the rough plan/ hope anyways!

Cagliostro · 01/05/2018 20:26

Welcome beary!

I haven’t finished doing dinner yet. Baby needed feeding.

I’m starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. If DH really does get regular shifts (it has started already but is a bit hectic with DH’s last few running events that he booked ages ago, and some work things) it could all be much more predictable... but ATM I just want to cry! So tired. Really anxious. Bah.

Right she’s fallen asleep again so I’m going to plonk her on DD1 and go finish the dinner.

Welcome beary

I haven't done much....
Tadas
Littertray
Bins
Wash up
Clear table
Cook dinner
Sweep living room floor
2loads washing

Hasn't made a dent

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 01/05/2018 21:07

Welcome beary Smile. Soothing Brew for all who need it.

Ta da:-
Desks up in both rooms (DD2 doesn’t really need one yet but of course wanted to be like DD1 and we had the deal anyway so no cost involved)
Inadequate but free (as moved from another room) storage installed in cupboard of doom.
Some stuff dumped in loft.

So we have a few things in boxes which will need sorting but we were never going to get it all put away in a day. Unfortunately a little filing cabinet that I had really nice and organised with stationary for school etc has been repurposed for DD1’s room to go with the desk so will need to find somewhere to put all that stuff which (can you see a theme here Grin) will not be as good. But hey, we haven’t spent anything.

To do:-
Tidy living room but have purposely left that until last as planning to put something good on the telly while I do that.
Sort out shoes for tomorrow
Eat lemon tart Smile.
Send in updates CV for freelance work and possibly scan yet more documents. I cannot believe how much effort is involved in just trying to get started doing some freelance work, and that is not even full blown freelance stuff.

I have found a new You Tube vlogger- Happily a Housewife. If the vomit inducing name doesn’t offend too much she actually has some really useful tips which have nothing to do with being a housewife. The last couple of days I have stolen her tip of doing a power hour so where you don’t think, just do as much in the house as you can in one hour. Not so much decluttering but washing up etc. Am definitely going to try it to stop the days running away with me. Of course harder / impossible with young children around but I suppose that’s where smaller time slots come in or an acceptance that you cannot do it all.

Big work day tomorrow. Feel nervous but nothing I can do at this point, just need to arrive early tomorrow.

Night all Brew.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 01/05/2018 21:16

Also ta da:-
Showed birthday cards to cat. She eventually deigned to look at them. She ate her birthday food. We sang happy birthday and she walked off half way through. Love her Grin. Hopefully she will let us give her a fuss later.

Stilllivinginazoo · 01/05/2018 21:36

stressy 🍀tomorrow
Couple years ago we made cards scout cat and (our dear departed )atticus.he scratched and chewed his up so I'd class stressycat response as a winGrin

GoingGoingGoth · 01/05/2018 22:04

Hello Beary

One of my things this month will be to try to post at least once daily and keep up with the thread. .

Completed all my Ta-dahs apart from the ironing.

Am shattered & heading off to bed to read #RockNRollLifestyle

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 01/05/2018 22:06

Thanks zoo. Aww, Atticus sounds as if he was a fab cat.

Well done on your ta das Goth.

WhoKnowsWhereTheW1neGoes · 01/05/2018 22:31

Evening all, I have randomly wiped down some cupboard fronts in the kitchen today (sunshine revealed grubbiness) and sorted out a random basket of crap removed from DD's bedroom to ours about a month ago. Oh and filed/shredded some paperwork and done a machine load of washing.

So that feels like quite a good start to May.

Cagliostro · 01/05/2018 22:51

I’ve decided. As well as Sundays, I now hate Tuesdays.

foxessocks · 02/05/2018 07:13

toostressy I sort of do a power half hour...I kind of set a deadline so I don't get fed up and just whizz round the house doing anything I can remember from my list and anything that needs doing on the way then reward myself with Brew!! It works for me because I have to know when I can stop Grin but a whole hour in one go sounds harder not sure I could cope with that much at once!

foxessocks · 02/05/2018 07:23

AngryAngry just lost my whole post and to do list! Oh well that's that then I'm doing nothing today Grin

Bah. I was in a mood yesterday. It’s just so tiring doing the tap run. I really hope we end up living nearer there!
I’d not done Cagletini any food because we’d had lunch out, so needed to make sure dinner was decent, but it took ages as she needed feeding, then it was crap anyway, and the noodles stuck to the pan, and and and... ugh. I was so pissed off by the end that I barely ate any of it anyway. Cagletini did though! So that’s something.

I’m just glad that DH’s new hours seem to mean I will only be doing two club runs a week instead of four. So that’s brilliant. And in the near future DD will be going up to cadets at St. John, which although it means a long evening out (not going to be great with the baby) it means we will be having dinner out as a treat (DD eating while DS at Badgers, then vice versa - hooray for Wetherspoons! :o And it means one on one time with each of them) so no need to worry about cooking when we get in.

I really really need to sort out Tuesdays though. I have to prioritise some batch cooking, something I can stick straight in the microwave when we get in.
