Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

sc Flowers

foxessocks · 29/05/2018 21:19

Sorry pressed send too soon. Sc Flowers how awful , I'd only just seen the news as haven't really had the radio on or anything today. Sad

Saltcrust · 29/05/2018 21:22

Yes Zoo. Me too. Sad It's worse now they can access all the news directly on their Smart phones (very graphic uncensored photos allowed here unlike on the Beeb); there's no protecting them from it.

Wish it would rain here Toostressy it's beyond sultry! Very virtuous to do power 36 mins in the evening! Star

Ooh those are good game ideas btw Zoo - I had forgotten all about rummy - takes the mind off anxiety provoking subjects!

I nearly did eat the pasta tbh - a close run thing - but I hate being fat and I was 300 calories over my limit yesterday when I added it all up; just stupid!

Sorry - that was all very negative - feel a bit fed up tonight. As if life is not hard enough without terrorism eh? And I feel utter despair about violent ignorant young men who are totally without morals or any shred of compassion for their fellow human beings. Their sheer stupidity enrages me! (One of those police officers had 13 yr old twin boys fhs!) These young stupid men have no concept of the value of life [anger]

Er....

Sorry ...dh still working away so you are suffering the full force of my rants tonight...

To get back to housekeeping , and on a more positive front: I have washed and hung up lots and lots and lots of socks ... .

Saltcrust · 29/05/2018 21:25

X posts - thank you Foxes- and arf at "call me carbs" *Carbonella! Think I can compete with you for that title Grin

Mmmmm carbs. :o Blush

Always happy to recommend games, I have over 150. It’s my Thing, not that we get much chance to play.

Caglets have only just gone to bed due to anxiety issues. I am drained. And yes the living room is a tip again. I told DH he needs to book some time off.

Fuck I just realised I haven’t done the Tesco order.

OP posts:
carbonella · 30/05/2018 00:06

cag can you just repeat the exact same order from last week? Sometimes I've done that in a hurry, better than no food at all.

Sorry sc terrorism close to home is so unsettling ⚘⚘

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 30/05/2018 05:59

Morning all!

Ds3 up at 430 < yawn > closely followed by dd

Yesterday i mamaged to give our bedroom a power hour - changed bedding, wiped surfaces, emptied bin, tidied dps messy side of bed, all washing away and floor hoovered. Also spot treated couple of marks on our VERY light carpet Shock

3 loads of washing were washed and dried outside luckily as we are now forecast rain for days. Definitly colder this morning, suspect that is why ds3 up so early.

Also returned some winter coats bought in next sale as they were not warm enough for winter, and ordered more. Always try to get big coats in the sale!

Got some shopping in including iceland freezer fill but need pick up a few bits today

Horrible to hear of incidents in the news Sad There always seems to be something these days

Saltcrust · 30/05/2018 06:52

Morning all!

Thanks I've and Carbonella!

We were all woken at 3am, 4am and 5am owing to car alarms, fighting cats which wierdly sounded like babies crying and set our furry off barking! Peaceful! Grin

So humid it's stifling!

Bagfuls of StarStarStarStar to Goth and I've for sterling work yesterday! Those ta das are amazing!

Sorry Caglets are feeling anxious Cag hope they are ok.

foxessocks · 30/05/2018 08:03

Ive bad mummy alert but ds has slept through the night 2 out of 3 times since I ditched the baby monitor...don't know if it is coincidence and he's just coming through his phase of waking for milk again or whether I'm not hearing every little stir giving him a chance to settle back down before I go into him. I definitely can hear him when he cries or shouts because he woke me up at 6.30 shouting "downstairs, Weetabix!"

TTR is brilliant. We have the Europe one. Poor DH has literally never won it, we’ve had it about four or five years!

Really struggling with motivation this morning. We had a takeaway last night which made the Caglets happy (they’ve been asking for pizza hut for aaaages) and we had no food in that I was up to cooking. But I felt really crap after. Would rather just go out for a meal TBH and generally I try and do that now as it costs around the same but is much more enjoyable. But it was stormy last night. Ugh.

Anyway, cotbed getting delivered today. Room an absolute tip, as is the living room. I give up. I don’t know how to run a house. At all.

DH will take Caglets to the shops to get bits for today and we will order the shopping for tomorrow. Not sure if they’ll go to Coop or Tesco, if the former they could take baby too when she’s ready for a nap (Tesco a bit far if she needs feeding).

I think I looked at ticket to ride one year for a Christmas present for dh. Might have to put it back on the list!

Thanks zoo you're right of course , if he really needs us we can definitely hear him!

We've been out all day so no flying as such yet. Went to soft play because of the weather and stayed for lunch. Ds asleep now and dd watching TV. Must get cracking after this Brew

Ta da
Took something back to a shop
Got groceries

To do
Everything else...

Cagliostro · 30/05/2018 14:56

ta da
✅threw some stuff away from boudoir
✅stripped bed
✅DH moved the bed, flipped the mattress (I feel so grown up thinking about things like this HmmBlush
✅supervised holiday home ed
✅got drying on (all the towels)
✅put wash on - sheets for cotbed have arrived, I don’t normally wash new things but they smell really plasticky from the packaging so I bunged them in with other stuff
✅workout (toning/core strength, challenging but not tiring)
✅ordered Tesco shop for this evening, DH took the Caglets to the shops for today’s meals
✅all the crap from the boudoir floor is now slightly more condensed into a smaller amount of the boudoir floor.

I just know the cotbed will arrive when DH is out at gym with DD.

Still need to phone the post office.

Very good going Cag with those ta das!

I am literally in despair over this house today.

I swear the harder I try, the worse it gets Sad

Time for power of three I think.

foxessocks · 30/05/2018 16:11

Ta da
Daily routine
Attempted to renew library books but couldn't get through and gave up
Had to rearrange dentist appointment for the third time this time because he is retiring - so frustrating!!

Shouted at both dc. Had restorative cup of coffee. Now got to get as much as I can done before I start dinner. So I have half an hour...

To do
Swish and swipe bathroom
Organise trampolining
Try library again
Declutter in living room
Detailed hoover (don't think this will happen as dc are now watching toy story and I'd rather now break the spell of TV by moving furniture!)

Cagliostro · 30/05/2018 17:37

Is that you sc with an of in your name? Are we to call you SoC now? Mucho sympathy with the despair though. Just... ugh

ta da
✅put a few more clothes away
✅took delivery of cotbed - took plastic off mattress but have left the rest outside as it’s heavy and DH isn’t back yet
✅put another wash on
✅managed to gather together another carrier bag of rubbish while cagletini slept

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 30/05/2018 18:51

Well now I’m annoyed. DH went to build the cotbed and there are no screws. The bag must have fallen out in the van (the box had come apart a bit). Currently on hold to customer services. I feel so deflated

carbonella · 30/05/2018 19:12

Aaarg so frustrating cag, Angry on your behalf.

Got most of the list done today, not all but it's progress. Scrubbed out the one kitchen cupboard that hasn't been done - so gross. Drying out now so can finally get all the junk in the cupboard in the morning. Have filled the dishwasher loads of times - lost count! Fitted fire alarms- we moved in here and not one of them had a battery. Feel a bit happier knowing we'd have a warning if the worst happened.

GoingGoingGoth · 30/05/2018 19:15

Oh Cag that's so frustrating.

I know I've done stuff between wilting in the heat. I didn't move to Scotland to get too hot!

Ta-dahs
Beds
Breakfasts
DD to school
Birds fed twice
Washing up
Ironing
Packing & Posting
Collected DD
Cat to vet for nails clipped, weight checked & immunisations - he's NOT a happy bunny
Thorough clean of cat travel box & litter tray
Spot of gardening
Rubbish out
Garden waste out
Considering doing dinner but not really hungry

Tidyhomewannabe · 30/05/2018 19:35

Hi 👋 I haven’t been on here much, oh and kids are off , literally all I’ve managed to do today is make beds, feed them all and sew dd’s dance costumes! I’ll be back with you soon !

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/05/2018 19:46

Cag FlowersBrew, how annoying.

I’m sure we can all sympathethise about despair of house SC. Goth, Star for smoke alarm fitting. Hope your power half hour was successful foxes. Weary wing flaps to everyone else.

Very mixed day today!

Ta da:-
Went to indoor climbing place and had our lunch there which was fab
Looked at DD1’s homework with her and planned how she could do it.
DD1 made progress in riding her bike without stabilisers Smile. Really trying to focus on it this week with both me and DH off work and it being half term. DD2 had a go on hers too; she’s not really ready but hoping she takes some of it in at least.
Both DDs in bed early.

However...
DD1 unfortunately had a fall off her bike which understandably upset her, DH carried her home and I got DD2, two bikes home and coats (rained on and off all day here) so we are both knackered! On the plus side I had been toying with going for a run today but plenty of exercise done so no need Grin.
Both DDs pretty challenging at times and lost their tv time.

Really need to revisit behaviour. I read other threads on here and people seem to find it so easy to parent their children. Do any of you find disclipline easy and if so what on earth do you do Grin? I suspect some of DD1’s moods are hormone related.

Tomorrow we are possibly going swimming.

To do:-
DO NOT waste whole evening on MN
Paper declutter (going back to Clutterbug 30 day challenge and the next bit is paper)
Possobly reread behaviour book.
Ready meal for DH and me as kids are earlier.
Decide whether to drink the wine that is in the fridge...
