A few of us have just discovered we all did philosophy - a connection we didn't realise we had.

Any more?

Hey? MB, that sounds all very very clever and brainy .....

ghosty · 21/11/2006 07:26

Do your pupils have ANY idea of how clever you are????

Blandmum · 21/11/2006 07:28

tell 'em all the time , seriously the A level classes I teach know.

One of my mates bets all the kids entering my class in year 10 that they can't ask a question I don't know.....

Music
followed by a Masters in Computing & INformation Systems a few years later. the obvious progression....

But originally I had places to do philosophy, then I changed my mind to music. kind of wished I'd done the philosophy in the end.

helsy · 21/11/2006 08:58

Ghosty - wouldn't we all have got a first if we hadn't done exactly the same as you? . I had to do an MA to exorcise my Desmond.

Went to UCL to do Linguistics but swopped to Psychology. Regret the choice. DH did Pyschology and Philosophy (not at same uni).

what was the almost-dphil in MartianBishop?

ginmummy · 21/11/2006 09:12

Pharmacology then swapped to physiology and anatomy.

Deferred for personal reasons till the following September, became pregnant with ds due the following October, life got in the way of going back and I haven't had the chance to finish what I started. One day I will though.

Aaargh Bobsmum!!!! Graduated in 1997.
Did 5 years in the end because swapped history of art honours for eng. lit, so did extra year to get higher ord. English. So was there 1992-1997.
God they were pretentios though, weren't they. Not all, but some were way OTT.
Desperately trying to remember the modules I took.
Autralian film & tv with Ian (can't remember his surname).
Had a lovely American lecturer who looked like Kaite Puckrik.
John Caughie.
Apart from that - my mind has gone blank. How scary is that!
Did you go to the evening screenings?
I left just before they opened the new department buildings down in the church.
Hmmm - not sure whether we would have overlapped that much. Did research methods module with Ben Smith, Nathaniel (not sure of surname), Annalena Winslow and Veronica (again no surname).
Blame the drugs.........

bobsmum · 21/11/2006 15:12

I did Australian Film and TV too - Ian Craven - always gave me A's even on the essays I'd done the night before
I guess we could have had some crossovers in '97 when I was in 3rd year and you were doing finals. My 4th year was in the church building - v nice rather than that poky building by the QM. I miss the QM!

pooka · 21/11/2006 18:11

That is so weird! Yes - Ian Craven was lovely. Good grader
That was a really dingy building.
Aaah - the smell of the QM. Dodgy chips and old snakebite and black (beat the smell of the beer bar at the GUU - bogging).
This is really taking me back.....

Wilbur · 21/11/2006 18:17

laundrylover - where did you do your theatre degree? I almost did a joint honours, but then decided to be a full time poncey cow.

Hallgerda · 21/11/2006 18:36

Oooh Ghosty, I thought there must be someone who went to Exeter albeit a different campus. My housemate was a Lukey and we got chucked out of the bop once. When were you there?
