A few of us have just discovered we all did philosophy - a connection we didn't realise we had.

Any more?

MA Hons in Geography and Film Studies - worked brilliantly together and I was going to get a first until my lecturer in feminist film didn't agree with my dissertation so ended up with a 2:1. Bitter? Moi?

BSc Applied Physics, not much philosophy involved there

Not many of us scientists around are there.

If I had the time and money now I'd quite fancy doing psychology

laundrylover · 20/11/2006 17:41

wilbur I did Theatre Studies too but also did some philosophy - all it did was make me a Terry Pratchett fan.

marymillington · 20/11/2006 17:43

lol nqc! esp as my course was run by a load of hardcore feminists rewriting the history of needlecraft. the 8 hours per week was very strenuous.

WeaselMum · 20/11/2006 17:44

ledodgy - I got into Liverpool but went for Leeds only bcos my dp was going there - (we started seeing each other in 6th form - we are still together 14 years later so not bad going!)

so of you people who did History of Art - I really wanted to do it but got persuaded out of it by people who said I'd never get a job. And persisted in calling it History O Fart. Not amused.

fennel · 20/11/2006 20:57

NQC we did advanced logic as part of the philosophy degree. I did a Msc in cognitive science too - lots of Godel in there though have to say I didn't totally understand him.

reidie · 20/11/2006 21:01

BA Geography the secondary PGCE geog. at staffs uni

Skyler · 20/11/2006 21:07

I started doing Ancient History which included Roman Religion and Philosophy and Latin, changed to do Social and Economic History and then some political history modules for second year then mixed it up again for third year doing Pitt the Younger and Food in the Ancient World and the History of Socialism. No wonder I am confused. Graduated with a 2:1 in Historical Studies and have never used it. Will though. Intend to do PGCE one day........when dh accepts it will mean me doing 14 hour days....

Skyler · 20/11/2006 21:08

Smurfgirl · 20/11/2006 21:12

That was a bit vague sorry! I have gone to Hull for both my degrees.

harpsichordcarrier · 20/11/2006 21:12

oi! controlfreaky
nothing wrong with law as an undergraduate is there

imaginaryfriend · 20/11/2006 21:15

I think I'm the only person on here who did the very useful subject of fine art then so nobody will show up from my past and say - bloody hell, I remember you! But I studied for my BA & MA at Goldsmith's, London and PhD at The Slade, University of London.

All rather meaningless now when my intellect is more challenged by considering which kind of bunny is the cutest.

niceglasses · 20/11/2006 21:16

Librarianship

Then Computer Science

Now English Lit (struggling badly with Dickens)

Lio · 20/11/2006 21:16

Music. So useful when singing 'Miss Molly had a dolly' et al

harpsichordcarrier · 20/11/2006 21:19

oh yes law is marvellously useful for debating the finer points of res ipsa loquitur with a bunch of three year olds.

imaginaryfriend · 20/11/2006 21:19

Lio. Actually my Fine Art does come in handy when trying to teach dd how to draw her matchstick men with more accurate perspective.

controlfreaky2 · 20/11/2006 21:19

nothing at all harpsi (honest....) erhem, was writing that as you posted.....
