A few of us have just discovered we all did philosophy - a connection we didn't realise we had.

Any more?

it was difficult - I had to pretend to be a vegetarian as they kept feeding me small sprats with the heads on, and brawn (can only be described as meat jelly).

Well, I've worked out that acnebride and irishbird were at Cambridge after my time, unless they've had surgery .

I did Physics with Astrophysics (BSc) at York and then a MSc in Computational Physics at Salford. Worked for a few years and then started a PGCE in secondary science at the uiversity of hertfordshire. I saw sense in the middle of my second placement and I have taken a break in the middle of the course. (I can return to teaching next year if I feel like it)

At the moment I feel like returning to teaching after hell freezes over. I'm doing some Microsoft courses at Barnfield College, Luton and I'm loving every minute of it.

irishbird, i graduated 1991?

I did lean on the keyboard just as I posted - there should have been an e on the end of mine, don't know if yours was with or without?

Did English and American literature at Kent, then went on to my MA in social work there as well. MA included lots of psychology and social policy as well as practical social work training.

hey, Nicola Jennings! She was lovely, i have a picture of her in the same [embarrassing sporting team admission] as me looking fierce as a tiger despite being the smallest of all of us. At the time she had a boyfriend who was so stuck on her, I wonder if it carried on. The others, don't remember.

Who was the sister? I had a great time tbh, but then after 7 years at a girls' grammar it was inspiring to be surrounded by fit young mayen.

ooo, thanks for all info. sorry you had a horrible time. law always struck me as really tough, requiring you to actually do some work, unlike history. still, did it make working life seem quite good in comparison? i went into mourning for a couple of years, i loved uni so much.

um... yes (rowing).
