The only operations my daughter in law has had are 4 c- sections the last was 20 months ago and since then she has had lower abdominal pain, yesterday she was getting shooting pains and my son pulled this from her, he says it's feels like plastic but could be metal. Does anyone have any idea on what it could be?

Yes.

Privacy and confidentiality are basic rights and trust are probably the BIGGEST thing in a marraige. No one has a right to share my medical info with ANYONE.

My DH certainly doesn't have the right to share photos of my 'vagina' with anyone, thats literally a crime.

Well in ops case DIL doesn’t seem to mind , so that’s completely different!

Gettingbysomehow · 18/09/2024 11:30

I'd be very concerned that some instrument broke off inside her.

@Wokeuptired Can you clarify please? Did your son send a photo to your of his wife's fanny?

Please say no! 😫

He first sent me the photo of it in his hand then he was trying to explain (badly) where he pulled it from so he then sent the second photo with her permission, but it's OK I know what they look like as I also have one.

I think my Mum would have been my first stop, after all she patched up did minor ops on 8 of us Not much she hadn't seen.

newnamethanks · 18/09/2024 11:38

She needs to see a DR unless this speculation titillates her as much as everyone else. Nb everyone; if you suspect some medical paraphernalia has been overlooked and left inside you, MN can neither locate it nor remove it.

Your DS sent you a photo of his wife's genitals????

Dithercats · 18/09/2024 11:51

You sound like a fab MIL.
Send DIL with said item to her GP

Maybe the DIL is not able to ask her mum.

gardenmusic · 18/09/2024 12:03

and? Just saying that would be my first stop. Son obviously thought to ask his Mum - with permission.

Freeme31 · 18/09/2024 12:10

She should see a doctor as no idea what it can be. Btw you sound like you have a fabulous relationship with your son and DIL, i hope in future my son/DIL trust me to have this same kind of relationship.

'Soon pulled this I think from somewhere in her vulva even though he said vagina but the other photo (that I really didn't want to see) wasn't her vagina.'

@WideFootWelly there ya go 😅

People saying they'd want a divorce over the son telling/showing his mother 🙄 DIL was fine and consenting in the situation - no issue there! You're clearly derailing a thread about alien implants! 🤣

I stand corrected. Although people really are wild. But if the DIL consented that's her choice.

I once had a bit of tree/plant come out of my leg. I'd caught when out walking years before and it had always been a bit itcy and had sometimes opened up again through itching in my sleep.
No more itching once the part came out.

Hoppinggreen · 18/09/2024 09:55

But has your husband ever pulled one out of you and sent a photo of it to his mum?

Certainly not but I did find one caught in the leg elastic of a pair of knickers once. And very stratchy it was too! Must have transferred from something of his in the wash.

FofB · 18/09/2024 12:19

OP, I had a c-section and at that time, they sewed you up with a type of blue plastic. Which you were supposed to just be able to pull out when the stiches had healed.

The midwife came round to do it and at the time, thought I heard something snap. She insisted all was well.

My scar was quite tender after that but assumed that was normal. About 18 months later, I felt something catching the shower puff when I was washing. Looked down but because I didn't have my glasses on, I couldn't see what it was. Felt it, pulled it- 5 inch piece of blue plastic thread. Nearly puked, it blooming hurt and shouted for my OH, who didn't know what on earth was going on.

Took the blue plastic to the nurse and asked her to check my scar. She said you could see the newer healing from when I had yanked it out. So this is a long winded way of saying, I'd get it checked out. Pop the piece in a bag and take it in.

2k2j · 18/09/2024 12:22

Staple, well part of it anyway, from surgery?

Frozenberries · 18/09/2024 12:31

I was a bit taken aback that you received a photo of your DILa genitals but if you are all fine with this then I guess it’s great.

is she on the coil or has she ever been? Could it be a bit of that? Has she noticed a difference in pain since it’s been pulled out of her? How did she know it was needing to be pulled out?

LBFseBrom · 18/09/2024 12:33

Part of an earring?

DillDanding · 18/09/2024 12:34

So a grown man extracts something from his wife’s fanny, takes a photo and then sends it to HIS MUM who then posts it online.

Off the scale of inappropriately weird all round.

Scentsless · 18/09/2024 12:40

Since you don't know if it is plastic or metal, a magnet would telly you that.

Is is possible that it is nothing connected to the abdominal pain, but just something she sat or, or that got caught up in her underwear, like a splinter of some sort?

When you say your son pulled it out, do you mean like you would extract a splinter? Was it actually buried, rather than just loosely inside her vagina?

MakeMineaDigestivePlease · 18/09/2024 12:44

Has a sex toy disintegrated inside of her?

Button28384738 · 18/09/2024 12:52

Could it be a suture left over from her c section?

billycat321 · 18/09/2024 12:57

I fell off my bike when I was 17 and hit the road head first. Twenty years later a small red lump appeared on the white part of my eye and a few days later out popped up a piece of grit. Our bodies have a way of expelling foreign bodies but sometimes take their time!

This gives me hope that the bits of all weather grit in my kneecaps may one day find their way out 🙏

My daughter accidentally knelt on a newly sharpened green pencil when she was a toddler and the tip broke off and imbedded in her knee. The doctor said "That's OK, her body has 'walled it off'." That's why she still has it at the age of 33! I doubt that's ever coming out. 😄
