Hi girls

I posted a reply on the other thread and now it's too big to reply to, so here we are a nice sparkly new thread!

Snow Yommy . Hope that doesn't head down this way! Have you heard anything from your applications yet?

Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow Piggy. Try not to worry, I'm sure it'll be ok.

Still fed up here! Coughing still as bad and now I ache from doing it so much. I am soooo tired- not slept properly in ages.

Hi Ladies!
I wonder if it's swine flu you've had blissa? Sounds more than a regular cold, doesn't it? How is your ds? Is he better now? Get some echinacea tea down you - boosts the immune system (but tastes awful!!)
Can't believe it was snowing Yommy! Whereabouts are you based? I'm in the north and it's been cold here - we did have hailstones last week, but it just swaps from sunny to grey here from day to day - very unusual. Are you still thinking of getting a job? I might go for some voluntary work as I'm getting nowhere with apps for part-time shop jobs - even though I have over 5 years experience of working in shops. Bit disheartening.
Got the eye test in the morning but I am thinking it is probably just an anxiety thing made worse by tired eyes from my 'testing' - 'can I see that sign from here?' 'can I see it if I take my glasses off?' 'DP, can you see that sign?' etc etc Had a good few days though and managed to finish a chapter of work - yay!
Hope you're all well. I feel like I take up lots of space on this thread with my moaning!!xx

blissa · 13/05/2010 14:18

Hope your appointment went ok this morning Piggy. Don't worry about venting on here- it's what it's for, this time last year it was me pouring out all my worries. If you take up too much room we can just start a new thread . I'm sorry you've had no luck finding a job yet, voluntary work is a very good idea though.

Not sure this was Swine flu, I had a similar thing back in January too (caught from ds aswell). It's weird my dds don't seem to get ill very often, and when they do never pass it on to me, however when he gets something he gets it bad and shares it with me

I feel a bit better today, though still coughing. I woke myself up at 5.30 this morning coughing and couldn't get back to sleep, so I am flagging now.

Off to my friends for dinner with the dcs, she doesn't mind sharing my germs!

Hope everyone is ok xx

Hi all,

Had the appointment with the optician and need stronger glasses, which I thought I did anyway - and he said the yellowy thing is something called perni-something (decided not to google - go me!!) which is caused by exposure to elements, common in people who spend lots of time outdoors (I do walk about 4 or 5 miles a day about 4 or 5 times a week, I suppose). Anyway, it's harmless and nothing to worry about. But note to all to wear sunglasses when it's even just a bit sunny

Couldn't sleep at all the other night - found out my friend is trying for another baby and I just got really upset and teary and grumpy with dp - felt like such a jealous spoilt brat - didn't realise I was that desperate for a baby. Anyway, we're thinking by the end of the year to start trying

Poor you adn ds blissa - at least your girls don't get affected too much - I imagine it would be awful having to care for 3 ill children when you're not well yourself. Glad you're a bit better.

Yommy, hope you're having fun with your dp back home

Hope everyone has a nice Friday and weekend xx

choclab · 14/05/2010 17:40

hi all back again ... computer been playing up , how are you all ...

iv been in a state today

PiggyMad · 14/05/2010 17:56

Hi choclab,
Awww sounds like you've had a bad day. What happened? How are you feeling now?

choclab · 14/05/2010 18:05

hi piggy ..

yes feeling quite low ... iv now done the sin and googled and now feel worse ...

i went to docs regarding , my periods/ovulation .

i for some time get bloating /dull ache all around ovulation almost straight after i finnish my periods right through till about a few days before im due on again ....along with white egg white stuff to ...

i went to ask if this was normal , she said was as not ringing alarm bells to her EG: bleeding after sex/ spotting /smelly discharge etc so not to worry .

but i am and have now googled and would seem all my symptoms fit ovarian C .

i had a pelvic scan 2 years ago all was fine .

i also had FBC and the lot tested in Feb this year all fine .

should i go back again ? or is this my HA again taking over ...

im really worried now ..

PiggyMad · 14/05/2010 18:19

Sounds quite stressful, but I'd say that if you've recently had fbc then it should put your mind at ease as they test for all sorts. A lot of women get pains around ovulation too I think that is quite common. I also get all sorts of different types of discharge and I think ewcm is a sign of ovulation (have been stalking the conception threads ) so nothing unusual.
If you don't have any unusual bleeding then I would say try not to worry - I know that isn't making you feel any better now though

choclab · 14/05/2010 18:30

thanks , for listening ,

i guess i have to put my faith in the doctor as if she really thought something was bad would send me right ?

i did mention OC was one of my worries but she didnt really comment either way .

i am 37 and i think this is still abit young for it ...well i hope ....

i had a pelvic scan 2 years ago was fine , and i know i had similar worries then , bloating ovulation discharge so maybe its just the same ...

i will write in my diary i think each day and see how it goes i guess , or have thought about paying priviate and getting further checks done ...

PiggyMad · 14/05/2010 18:36

If the symptoms are the same as what you had when you had the scan then I think it is probably just your body and nothing sinister.
I'm sure the doctor would investigate if she thought it was a problem - I'm sure she's seen people with OC before or knows exactly what to look for and if she was in doubt she wouldn't send you away with nothing.
I know what you mean about considering private scans as I've wondered about getting mri scan when I've been anxious, but it would only put your mind at rest for so long and I know if it was me I'd find something else to worry about

choclab · 14/05/2010 18:48

thanks again .

i know just looked on Bupa wellness they do a female check for 265 ...

may consider it

how are you ?

do you suffer with Health anxiety ?

PiggyMad · 14/05/2010 18:57

Hehe let me know if you go for the check!
I do suffer from health anxiety at times, but mainly just panic attacks and general anxiety. I was worrying about a yellow spot in my eye all of last week hence my trip to the optician I also went to the docs a couple of weeks ago about a pain in my thight - convinced myself it was dvt when actually it is sciatica
Glad you seem to be feeling a bit calmer It's awful when you get so worked up and it's so hard to rationalize - I've had myself in some states before!!

kildare34 · 14/05/2010 19:07

Hi Everyone. I'm back! Just been mad busy and I had a bit of chesty coughy but all better now! My dad is grand still dizzy but doctors are reducing medication he is on. My ds2 was 4 last week and we had a party for him in a indoor play centre and he had a brilliant time! I have a new nephew who was born this week and he is only gorgous. You forget how small newborns are.

I finished with my counsellor this week, I did 8 sessions with her. It was the best thing I could have done for myself in terms of understanding/ dealing with my anxiety. My dh has really seen a difference in me, less anxious and more relaxed. So we will see how it goes and I know I can always go back in the future if I need to and that it is no shame to do so!

Anyway enough about me! How's everyone?

Choclab - you are having a hard time of it. I have had all those symptoms and I had myself convinced that I had OC. You don't have OC, your body is ovulating and your head is making you doubt yourself. It is the health anxiety creeping back. Please trust your GP.

Piggymad - Glad to hear the appointment went well for you. Do you know what the best bit about trying for a baby? The practicing Good luck. x

Blissa - How are you feeling now? Maybe you need an antibiotic to shift your chest infection? Look after yourself.

choclab · 14/05/2010 19:08

thanks ,

its horrid isnt it ...grrrrr

hard for others to understand sometimes as no physical symptoms ...

i go in waves was fine 2 weeks ago then read something about OC then off i went self checking again ....

i get panic attacks to mainly when im due on and in tescos or shopping mauls ...

i always think WCS with everything .... to thats bad i know ..

going to pour a glass of wine now and hope to chill a bit
feel free to grab one yourself ..hehe...if you indulge that is ..

choclab · 14/05/2010 19:12

Hello kildare

thanks for advice , have you really had similar ? im only day 10 of cycle and pain is about ...hmm is this ovulation starting u think ..?

glad your chesty cold bit better , and glad counsellor sessions helping tats great did you get them on NHS , i tried a bit once but didnt fine helpfull at that time .

kildare34 · 14/05/2010 19:33

I honestly have had similar and I definitely think you are ovulating. I remember watching "This Morning" and they had a woman on with OC and it nearly sent me over the edge.BTBH, she could have had any other life threatning illness and I would have had experienced her symptoms iyswim?. I live in Ireland and went to a private therapist. €50 a pop, so not cheap but so worth it in the long run. I will join you in a glass of wine, white anyone!!!

PiggyMad · 14/05/2010 19:40

Don't have any plonk in the house (too lazy to go and get some too) so might have to sneak a glass from one of you ladies but I do have about 20 creme eggs as Somerfield were selling them off for 11p each!! Went a bit crazy! So I'll swap a creme egg for a glass of vino

Glad your dad is getting better kildare. I bet your ds had a great time - must have been strange celebrating his 'big boy' birthday and seeing your tiny newborn nephew!

Seeing a counsellor really helped me when I was going through a bad patch last year. I was living in the middle of nowhere away from friends and family with dp out at work all day and just really needed someone there for me. I would def par for it again if needed.

Right, might get some creme eggs down me and get a bit of 'practising' in

blissa · 14/05/2010 20:18

Ooo good to see you all here

Glad your appointment went well Piggy- well done for not googling! I'll swap you a glass of rose for a cream egg, got my appetite back with avengance! Haven't had a drink for weeks now it seems, just haven't felt like it.

Good to see you back choclab, sorry you've been worrying. I second everything Piggy has already said. I know it's hard but try not to think about it. You did absolutely the right thing going to the gp. Hope you are enjoying your wine

Congratulations on your new nephew kildare. Sorry you have been suffering with a cough too, this one is right getting on my nerves now! Glad your dad is doing ok, sounds like ds had a lovely birthday. It's great to hear you sounding so positive following your sessions.

Finally went to the chemist this morning and got some cough medicine, then took myself off to bed for the morning. I feel a lot better now, just hope I get some sleep tonight. Dds are supposed to be staying at my parents tomorrow night, but we'll have to see. My dad had pnuemonia a few years back so we are always cautious whenever we are harbouring any germs.

choclab · 14/05/2010 20:21

really kildare ....was the lady on 'This morning ok ? and how old was she ? sorry going over time now .....

wow thats alot of money for therapist(depending how often you go though ) but if it helps thats good and money well spent .

i had twice a full body massage and divine healing and that cost 45 and i going to try and have it once a month so quite similar , how often do/did you have it ?

kildare34 · 14/05/2010 20:22

I love creme eggs, that's a bargin 11p each, I don't blame you for going a bit crazy!

Do you know what is strange? How time is flying by! I remember when I was a teenager, I couldn't wait to be "grown up" and now I want time just to slow down a little bit! I can't belive my "baby" is 4 now, it really seems like yesterday.

This wine is yum!

kildare34 · 14/05/2010 20:31

Hi Blissa! Glad you are feeling better. What have you been taking up till now?

Choclab - The lady in question was in her 50's but I can't remember the outcome. I went to the therapist once a week for 8 weeks. So €400, not cheap at all, but the price for good mental health is worth it.

choclab · 14/05/2010 20:36

yep your right , glad was a help i will look into it therapy for me i think , money well spent ..

and thanks for listening to me go on all of you ...x

thats why this thread is so nice your all lovely xx

into second glass now and DH gone to get take away ..so trying not to think to much ..

blissa · 14/05/2010 21:22

Sounds lovely choclab, enjoy your takeaway . Hope you have a relaxing evening.

Just been necking paracetamol and a few Nurofen kildare. Since I was ill I've become a bit wary of what I take in case it causes a clot (totally irrational I know) but whereas before I would reach for pills as soon as I felt the first niggle of a headache, now I try and wait until I cannot igonore it. The cough medicine I got seems to be helping a bit.

Time does fly when you have dcs, it gets worse when they get to school! My eldest will be 9 in the summer, I do not know where the time is going, she sometimes seems so grown up, although not as much as some of her peers it seems. My youngest was 4 in january, he starts school soon, I was texting an old friend who I have known since we were babies the other day and saying how all my dcs were school aged now- made me feel so old, especially as she doesn't have any yet.

I have just eaten a huge choc brownie and a cup of tea, feel a bit sick!

OP posts:
kildare34 · 14/05/2010 22:03

Choclab, no problem at all. That's what we are all here for. Hope you are enjoying your takeaway

Blissa, I agree with you about when they start school, that time flies. My eldest boy is 7 and acts real cool but then still brings a load of teddies to bed! I love kids being kids. Too much pressure to have them grown up especially girls I think. Let them be children.

DH has gone out with brother in law to wet the baby's head, so I am having a guilt free MN night!

choclab · 15/05/2010 10:21

Morning all .

feeling a bit calmer this morning ...havent had the pains i had yesterday ..YET ...so thats good , still feel bit bloated but could be my IBS and the fact i am carrying a bit round my belly ...
