I re-started this week so am joining this new thread. Thank you for starting it@MistySkiesAreGone I’ve got lots to lose.

xraydelta · 17/06/2022 08:21

Hello @LotsOfTrees I remember you from before 👋🏻

I have also restarted, and this time I bought the 12 week package from Fast 800, which even though I have the books and have done this before, is surprisingly useful and I would recommend it while it's 20% off.

Day 5 for me today. I am repeating a lunch today of avocado, boiled eggs and red pepper and then I have aubergine and courgette bake for dinner.

And if anyone has any idea for leftover anchovies, please let me know 😁 I could always remake the chicken Caesar salad in the next few days, but there might be something more interesting I can swap out for.

Happy Friday everyone 🤗

clare8allthepies · 17/06/2022 10:21

Hello everyone! Day 12 here and (touch wood) I’ve finally shaken off the awful headaches that have plagued me for days. 8 and a half pounds down so far. Food is going well and I’m not really finding at all hard to stick to a 16:8 pattern which often ends up more like 18:6. I did feel a bit sorry for myself just now when I went to Tesco and every single person had a trolley piled high with beers, wine and gin!

Alainlechat · 17/06/2022 17:17

I have just started the Fast 800, hope to do until my holiday in 6 weeks although I have a 5 day work trip in the middle of this which will be a challenge..

First weigh in tomorrow. Have felt least hungry today thankfully, day 5 so far.

LotsOfTrees · 17/06/2022 18:58

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendation @xraydelta. I’ll check that out now. Yes, I lost a lot last year but life got stressful and that all fell apart - so here I am. Feeling committed again now though to get going again.

fantastic loss @clare8allthepies and good news on the headaches. I’m feeling mostly committed but seeing others eat ice cream today in the sun did almost trip me up!

good luck on your first weigh in @Alainlechat

my old favourite of sausage spinach ‘lasagne’ for dinner tonight and DH is taking care of it all while I have my feet up so feeling very grateful after a busy week.

blebbleb · 19/06/2022 10:14

Joining if that's ok. Started on Wednesday and I've lost 4lbs already! Going to be hard today as going out for a Father's Day meal but I've checked the menu so I know what I can and can't have!

clare8allthepies · 19/06/2022 10:50

Welcome blebbleb! Pootling along ok here. Usually I don’t eat until about 12 but I made everyone a cooked breakfast before 10 this morning as it was Father’s Day so it will be interesting to see if I can make it to dinner time at about 6!

That's good, I usually have 3 smaller meals as I can't wait until 12. I made some Father's Day cupcakes earlier that I'm trying not to eat Confused

HRTQueen · 19/06/2022 14:46

Hello I’m joint this week if that’s ok I actually feel nervous I have three stone to get rid of (preferably four)

stocking up on food I can eat. My biggest worry is not having milk I really dislike black tea and coffee (and fruit teas) can anyone recommend an alternative milk that tastes ok ? I can give up chocolate, bread, pasta and rice but a nice cup of tea 😭makes me actually want to cry

I find when I do low carb I crave fruit yogurt I can make my own thankfully

Alainlechat · 19/06/2022 16:48

Good luck @HRTQueen. I started on Monday and have to say I have had some coffees with less milk and less coffee than usual so they don't taste too bitter. I have given fruit teas another go though.

@LotsOfTrees, thank you. 6lbs off on the first weigh in. All set with my shopping for another week. Have gotten over feeling really hungry now for the most part and managed to resist MILs Father's Day treats for FIL Smile

It's cheating but I've always had skimmed milk with tea even on this diet. Thats one thing I'm not going to stop enjoying, my tea!

user1471561661 · 19/06/2022 17:27

Hi can I join too - have done this a few times but am kind of doing an adapted version. I am aiming for 16:8, taking supplements this time cutting back on caffeine, dairy and aiming for low carb high protein - previously I just worried about cals mainly and I think that was detrimental in the longer term although I lost a lot. I am about a week in. I will try and change my name at some point!

user1471561661 · 19/06/2022 18:01

Sorry, just scrolling back as haven't read the thread. I have nearly always kept milk in tea as a cheat and don't find it affects me losing weight. Unfortunately I think I am peri now so needed an extra push which is why I have cut out dairy. it's been a lot easier than expected, i think because I have been taking vitamins but who knows. A positive side affect is i am now down from about 10 milky teas and coffee to 3 with almond milk. Currently like innocent almond drink unsweetened and plenish almond milk in tea - not exactly delicious but low carb and doesn't split.

FairyCakeSprinkles · 19/06/2022 20:44

You all sound like you are doing so well on this diet. I have read through the website today but I honestly don't know if I can survive on 800 calories... obviously physically it's possible but the thought of getting through my 13 hour work days without snaking. I also love fruit although I do wonder if this is half my problem on diets like weight watchers.

I'm going on holiday in 64 days. I would love to wear a bikini, I'd need to lose at least a stone for that. I really struggle with losing weight and get demotivated if I lose nothing / 0.5lb on Weight Watchers after what feels like a lot of effort.

My lovely 10 year old DD did say to me solemnly today 'you're not fat mummy, you're not as thin as the ladies in the pictures of the bikinis you like but you're not fat'.

HRTQueen · 19/06/2022 21:38

Thank you for the advice. I’m going to get some almond and coconut milk

so much stress over a cup of tea …. Have recently given up sugar in my tea and I’m still missing that

but have to make these changes

that’s lovely what your daughter said FairyCakeSprinkles ds said to me you are not as fat as Aunty (she is a very very large lady) but you still a bit fat. I like his honesty

whyisitsohardtochangemyname · 19/06/2022 21:58

Can I join too please? I lost 2 stone during lockdown on this diet. Sadly bad habits have crept back in and i've gained back a stone. I could easily be back where I started in a couple of months at this rate. I'm determined to get the stone off and start feeling more in control again.

Doyathinkhesaurus · 19/06/2022 22:55

OK I'm in. Him indoors and I are both in a state of largeness that requires attention. Three weeks to a flight and I fear the bloody belt won't go round me. A spot of Fast 800 could save me the horror of asking for an extender belt. He has agreed to participate... we'll see how long that lasts! Starting in the morning.

Addidas · 20/06/2022 16:50

Can I join! I’ve been doing a meal replacement diet as had a baby and no time to cook! I’ve lost a lot of baby weight that way . Not a sustainable way of life though and also expensive!

But I’ve done fast 800 before and lost the most weight on that compared to any other diet. So now baby is sleeping better and have time to cook keen to get back on! I can’t do 800-I just can’t! But I manage 950ish and keep carbs low and follow the recipes. I’ll be fasting 5pm to 8am so about 15hours to start with

I’m starting on Thursday as away until then. I have a stone to loose to get my to bmi 23.5 where i want to be and stay! Think it’s about 25.8 atm. Will weigh and start daily posting on thursday

hello everyone :)

FairyCakeSprinkles · 20/06/2022 19:17

@HRTQueen, me too. I think DD is right. I'm not 'fat' but I am overweight and I am going to be down about that on holiday.

Made a start yesterday although I'd already had breakfast so didn't manage the 16 hour fast.

I have managed it so far today. Counted down the seconds until my lunch of:

Chicken salad,
10g of salted proper popcorn,
Arla protein yoghurt pouch.

Had a tiny handful of nuts with a cup of tea mid afternoon.

Am currently cooking some chicken and veg for dinner.

Not sure if I'm really nailing the food exactly but that comes in at 800 calories and the overriding point is I've stuck to it.

FairyCakeSprinkles · 20/06/2022 19:20

@HRTQueen, I think your DS's assessment of 'a bit fat' would be right for me. Blush

Doyathinkhesaurus · 20/06/2022 20:17

So Day 1 done - smoothie, salad and turkey fajitas all eaten.
I could eat my bloody leg right now and I have a spectacular craving for chocolate. Also - headache! Am going to try a mug of tea and see if it makes a difference!

How you doin' today?

whyisitsohardtochangemyname · 20/06/2022 23:11

Day 1 done. I successfully avoided the scones and trifle left over from yesterday's Father's day picnic. Salad with a slice of ham for lunch and a milky coffee, Steak with broccoli, carrots and mushrooms for dinner. I could happily eat the trifle inside an easter egg at the moment but instead i'm staving offer the hunger pangs with a cup of tea. I usually find the first few days really hard but by the weekend it starts to feel less like i'm fighting myself (I hope).

HRTQueen · 21/06/2022 08:42

Starting today I have had mint tea. I think it’s easier in the warmer weather

and very busy at work so that helps ….

xraydelta · 21/06/2022 12:59
