Morning all... sneaking back in after a month from hell. Haven't weighed myself yet but I reckon I'm up 5lbs which I know is mostly water weight but I have been eating crap. I don't know what to do about my stress response to everything seems to be carbs. Last month I was pretty much non-stop (at least 60 hours a week, one week I was 74!) plus single parenthood and then loads of things were difficult and emotional with work and so I lived on convenience food and carbs from coffee shops.

This month is calmer but I really do need to lose another stone by the end of April because I have a series of events then that I will be photographed as part of and I just don't want to hate seeing myself. That time is a huge career win for me, something I've wanted for years and I just don't understand how I can't seem to stop eating so that I can get there!

Anyway - menu plan for the week done, groceries ordered and I'll be joining you again come Monday (have a 50th birthday party today so def not starting today!)

Lovely reading all the successes while I've been away - well done!

@PhoenixMama its hard. Don’t worry you keep coming back and it will come off. It’s a lifetime of deprogramming we have to do. it won’t happen overnight. I’m very similar…..You sound like you’re incredibly busy and you have made a lot of progress so far. Get back on and be kind

Welcome back @PhoenixMama much sympathy on the month from hell. I also parent solo and it gets so much tougher when work ramps up. You get up running on fumes and takeaway.

Morning all ☀️

I was bang on 11 stone this morning. I did a circuits style gym class first thing and I am gearing myself up to take the dog for a potter before I have to shower and get to work.

Today's meal plan is leftover baked meatballs and leftover minestrone, in whatever order I get to them in the fridge 😆 That should be 775 calories and 25.5g carbs.

I am going to try not to snack and try not to have a glass of wine this evening...

Good luck everyone for a brilliant weekend.

And has anyone got any inspiration for menu planning for next week?

Well I think DH is a convert now! He weighed himself this morning and was 16st 5lb down from 17st 1lb a few weeks ago. He didn’t weight himself before we started so he may have lost a lb or two before we got going, but he’s chuffed with himself! He’s got a stag do in 2 weeks so will be firmly off the wagon for that, but he said if he can get himself comfortably below 16st before that he’ll be happy.

I'm afraid I have needed carbs this evening due to rather distressing side effects of low carbing.

Medication hadn't worked today and whilst I'd normally wait and stick it out, I need to work tomorrow a distance away.

I hope this is a one off and I can be back on this tomorrow! I don't know what the answer is. It hasn't happened to me before 😔

Hi all, hope the weekend hasn’t been too hard on any of you. I have completely fallen off the wagon today. Still kept to fasting but inhaled a chocolate croissant from Asda, then had a latte and a HUGE cookies and cream donut from a local bakery. I’m not even going to attempt to log them on my app because the donut in itself was probably 800 cal (that’s how big it was) but on a positive - I really enjoyed both of them. In a different way to prior to starting this way of eating. Had some fruit a bit later on and a handful of cheesy mini cheddar bites then aubergine Parmesan bake for tea. I’ve also just had a small portion of mint choc chip ice cream. Wahhhhh! Straight back on it tomorrow as I’ve had my cheeky day off so am ready to get back to it. This morning I was 10.2 so the loss is slowing down (10.11 start weight 3.5 weeks ago). Hoping to get down to just under 10 in another couple of weeks but must try not to binge every bloody weekend!

spoon almond butter and 50mls of milk in my coffee
feta stuffed chicken and roasted courguettes
seabream and cabbage roasted
jude 70 cal icecream coz otherwise 100000 mini eggs would have ended in my tummy

comes in at 950 and 20g carbs
zero excersie done so tmrw will be longer session

I’m with everyone who has struggled this week. I ended up having two days off after a busy and incredibly stressful week. I had a pizza one of the nights - a whole pizza to myself which, to be honest, I actually didn’t even enjoy and the temporary weight gain has been pretty disheartening on top of it all. The stress still isn’t over but I’ve climbed back on and am hanging on as best I can and have done well yesterday and today.

Sorry to hear it’s been a stressful time, @Anewagain. I’m joining the club of those who have not behaved well this weekend - I made the Persian love cake from the keto book yesterday and a) it isn’t as nice as it looks and b) what was I thinking making cake that I can only eat one small slice of per day?? Have had three slices today. The kids don’t like it, DH ate some to be polite, and the cream cheese icing is already tasting sour. I feel obliged to eat it because it took fecking ages to make (opening 60g of shell-on pistachios took 10 minutes alone) and I don’t want to waste it. Might have to ditch the remains tomorrow. The lesson is that if I must make some sort of puddingy thing it needs to be one serving only. Or something like the semifreddo which will be fine in the freezer and not go off.

Apart from all the disappointing cake, I have had egg baked in half a roast pepper, and the lamb koftas. Probably on at least 1500 calories but it has all been diet approved. Just too much of it.

Still stuck on the same weight for the 7th day, gloom.

Good morning. Today I am going to attempt a mini fast day to get myself started. I am aiming for about 800 cals and giving myself a 16:8 window. I have had two cups of coffee with milk. I will have leftover tofu curry with cauliflower rice. Lunch will probably be a cup of miso with a boiled egg and spinach. See you all on the other side.

Right. @TooExtraImmatureCheddar thank you for taking one for the team and trying that recipe. You have saved the rest of us from bothering if it's so faffy and also not that nice to eat 😁 If it's a clear case of it either ends up in the bin or inside you, my vote is for the bin. Despite it being a waste, it can't do damage in the bin. Please don't feel obliged to eat it all.

My dog would have eaten it though.... the crazy thing adores pistachios 😆

I am back on it today, too. Fasted so far this morning and I did my 6:15am circuits class.

I am still not under 11 stone 😔 I have hopes for tomorrow.

On the menu today is leftover baked meatballs for lunch and keto fish pie for dinner.

It is pissing down with rain and I've had a sodden 10 minutes in the park with elderly dog. I had hoped for a longer walk today to get my steps up...

Let's smash this week after a rotten weekend 🙌🏻

Morning all! Weighed this morning and up 4.2lbs so not atrocious but definitely time to get on it. Thanks for all the lovely comments. @xraydelta you nailed it about solo parenting too - it's like it gets to a point where my brain literally can't think straight and all food time/prep/healthiness just leaks away. As someone else said it's years of deprogramming that needs to happen but it is so crazy hard.

Feel hungry today but I think that's more about feeding (pun intended) by need to feel like I'm doing something. Think I'll either have the bircher museli from the book or bacon for lunch & then we're having the Korean chicken for dinner. Onwards & downwards hopefully!

Morning all

11.2 for this morning. That's 5ib off in ten days which I'm delighted with even though I know a chunk of it was water weight.. would love to lose another 9ibs really which would take me into the middle of my bmi range but haven't been there in literally years but really feel in the zone at the moment so fingers crossed
I'm doing 2 meals a day so just had a beef salad for lunch and will have a mushroom omelette for dinner so don't feel starved.
Still finding my exercise really hard to do though. So sluggish . Hope that lifts soon.

I try not to weigh myself daily as it jumps alll over the place so restrict myself to twice a week which helps with motivation !

Hello all, I ‘cheated’ 3 days last week although I counted my calories and I was still around 1400 on those days so very disappointed with a 1 pound loss this week. Particularly as the diet made me pretty grumpy some days last week! But it’s 3.5 pounds in total over 2 weeks (probably only 8 true 800 days) and I don’t think it’s water weight as had carbs and wine for dinner last night. Really really want to lose 5 pounds to get to 10 stone and not keep going between 10,4 and 10.12 that I’ve been doing since lockdown!!

@Chunkymonkey123 I am in exactly the same bracket as you! Have continuously stayed between 10&11 stone for so long now. Right at the start of the first lockdown was the last time I was under 10 stone. But have since had another baby and really struggled to keep it off. I’ve just had six minstrels and one miniature Reese’s cup whoops. Onwards and upwards? Apart from that todays been a good day haha

Hello all,
Scales have stopped being stubborn and dropped 4.5lbs this morning, taking me to 28lbs in 9 weeks.

Last week was a real struggle with all sorts of ructions on home and work fronts and no movement on the scales. But I stuck it out and resisted the large glass of wine/G&T calling to me siren like from the rocks. I dropped my carbs to under 30g - they had been sneaking up nearer 50g - and upped the protein and the big whoosh came.
Lots left to lose but motivated to do it!

A touch over 800 calories for me today. I forgot to add the mozzarella to the fish pie 😆 But then I ate a babybel...

Now I just need not to snack and not stop for wine on the way home later 😆

@xraydelta, that made me giggle - might have to feed the cake remains to the dog! It tells you something when despite the fact that it is cake and technically allowed, I am not feeling any temptation to go and eat some today.

Lunch today was courgetti made with my new spiraliser. V impressed at how well it worked! Dinner is going to be round 2 of lamb koftas, with some sort of side eg cabbage. Need to do a new Tesco order.

I need to be good this week because it’s DD’s birthday on Thurs and we’re going out for dinner. There will be non-keto birthday cake too.

Well done on your loss @Tunneltiger! Amazing to drop 4.5lbs in one day. I’d love that to be me when I weigh in tomorrow - currently showing a stubborn 0.25lb gain for this week.

From tomorrow I just have 2 (maybe 3) weeks of the ‘strict’ Fast 800 left but lots to lose beyond that too. Thanks for the encouragement @xraydelta and others. I’m recognising there are things I still haven’t tried - like courgetti!
