Hi everyone! I've had so much booze the last few days and I'm about to get my period and the photo shoot is on Saturday. The good news is I'm walking about 5km a day so that's something and as long as I'm good till Friday (I'm hosting work drinks!) I'll feel ok for drinks but not where I want to be. I've got a load of work/socialising things coming up and I don't know how to manage all of this. I get some possibly career changing/life adjusting info on Thursday. If it's good news I think I'll be able to focus and really knuckle down, but if it's bad news I'm definitely going to need a few days to recover. And on top of all that DD is being bullied at school. I so wish I was one of those people who didn't eat when they're stressed!

traintraveller · 25/05/2021 20:59

Lotsoftrees Wow, that's a great loss well done.
I don't have stats as such to report but am half way through week 6 and have some clothes I'd like to fit in comfortably.
Phoenix fingers crossed you get good news

LotsOfTrees · 26/05/2021 06:52

Thanks so much @traintraveller. Hope you fit those clothes comfortably soon.

Also joining with saying I hope the news on Thursday is good @PhoenixMama. Sounds like there is a lot going on for you and your family.

Tinselandlights · 26/05/2021 07:23

Keeping fingers crossed for you @PhoenixMama!

Just got on the scales and I've lost 1.5lbs this week which I'm pleased with. I'm now within a few pounds of BMI of 25.

I can feel I'm starting to get achy boobs and feel grumpy so it'll be interesting to see how I feel craving-wise when my period arrives. It's usually a horror show.

Onto week 7!

I previously lost 4 stone on the blood sugar diet. I had another baby and have put it all back on (but haven't been fasting / low carbing at all. I'm ready to go again as currently can't do up my fat jeans. I'm still breast feeding first thing in the morning and before bed but my baby is almost 1 and likes food more than milk now so it's minimal.

Just need a bit of motivation to get started.

DaisyWaldron · 26/05/2021 18:25

I'm starting the Fast 800 on 1st June, immediately after a visit from my in-laws. Do you have any tips on how to get through the first few days, which I suspect will be pretty tough?

PhoenixMama · 26/05/2021 19:22

@DaisyWaldron Make sure you follow the book, and drink loads of water!

Welcome @finallymightbehappening!

So I ordered literally almost £900 worth of clothes (thanks klarna!) and NOTHING fits. Literally sizes 14 - 18 and one 18 was too big, one was too small, some 16 were too big, some were too small and 2 of the 14s would probably only fit a size 10. And the photo shoot is on Saturday. Honestly going to cry. 10lbs away from my lowest weight and I have nothing I can wear for these photos.

Tinselandlights · 26/05/2021 20:37

Welcome @DaisyWaldron and @finallymightbehappening!

@DaisyWaldron, I started on a Tuesday too and the first three days were horrible but it really didn't take long to find my groove. Go to bed early, drink loads of water, and take painkillers if you have a headache. By the weekend you'll feel ok. I bought some keto sticks from Amazon and it was amazing to see I was in ketosis by day three - I found that hugely motivating and try to stay in ketosis now.

@PhoenixMama are you able to go anywhere like a department store and just get them to pick you something? Or, could you book a blowdry to make you feel glamorous, as I guess your shot will be waist upwards?

Wellcome @finallymightbehappening and @DaisyWaldron

I’m sorry about the outfits @PhoenixMama. I hate that feeling of panic at not having something to wear. This may not work for you of course but previously I’ve found I’ve tried and failed to buy new things in a panic for an event when there’s actually something old I have that would do.

I ate out at a friends last night and had wine, dessert and chocolate (all in moderate amounts) and have stayed the same weight today so I’m grateful for that.

texican · 27/05/2021 08:09

Morning all,

Not having a good week here - dog is poorly so have had to 'sleep' (no sleep) on the sofa this week. @PhoenixMama you eat when you're stressed, I eat when I'm tired so we're not doing well this week! I even had a midweek wine last night which is first since after Christmas when I started, but I genuinely pushed the F It switch. Work is grim at the moment too. Grumble, grumble.

Hoping for a better day today and going to take my own advice from a while ago and get out for a walk in the sunshine this morning as not really left the house since Saturday and definitely feeling low.

@PhoenixMama I agree with the shopping your wardrobe idea as you might have something great lurking in there. I also share your frustration at clothes sizes though too - they're really are a joke! Makes online shopping so hard. Good luck for your news today.

Welcome to new faces @finallymightbehappening and @DaisyWaldron I felt quite rough for the first few weeks but it does depend on your diet before you start and it definitely does pass. Best thing I've done for a very long time.

Have a great day everyone ☀️

Tinselandlights · 27/05/2021 17:16

I think I might have hit on something... cocoa!

Instead of breakfast today, I had a mug of cocoa. So two teaspoons of cocoa powder and 100 ml or so of milk. It really kept my energy up (and was delicious).

I always found cocoa too bitter but as I'm not having any sugar it was really hearty and filling. I calculate 12g of cocoa powder as being 48 calories, and the milk as 52 calories, meaning a 100 calorie breakfast that gave me a boost and a chocolate fix all in one!

Hi my first day today on 16:8 , hoping for inspiration and support .

MercedesBenz · 27/05/2021 18:05

Done ok (she says modestly ) probably not under 800 calories but a significant reduction on a normal days scoff , just got to resist any nibbles later on

Tinselandlights · 27/05/2021 20:08

@MercedesBenz welcome! The first few days are the hardest, if you can get through day four you've cracked it!

It’s all very good motivation to keep going so far! Shock

Tinselandlights · 27/05/2021 22:03

I enjoyed it (though it was a little bit slow in the middle!) and I did find it motivating to see how much they could do when they tried!

I know it won’t be actual ‘fat ‘ but 2lb off this morning ! I need to lose 4 stone plus so a long way to go , but a family bbq in 4 weeks is my first motivation . Would like to lose a stone by then .
Watched the Michael mosely programme also , that was an eye opener
Have a lovely day everyone

Thanks , if you don’t mind me asking how long to lose , your first stone ?
