Finishing today on 865 calories, for a first day it’s been tough and I’m a boredom eater so finding that distraction is what would help a lot more. I’m recovering from surgery so i can’t walk around or motivate myself any other way

clare8allthepies · 02/07/2022 19:46

The first few days are really tough, I hope you recover quickly.

After nearly a month of no takeaways and no meals out we had our usual family share kebab last night. I left the flatbread and chips to the others and just had some of the meat and salad. No idea of the calories although it seemed pretty low carb. I was very unsurprised to have a 0.8 pound increase on the scales this morning as it was definitely salty and I was chugging back the water all night.

Also we took the kids out for lunch after the cinema this afternoon, I had piri piri chicken and salad which was lovely and then bolognese with courgetti tonight.

Addidas · 03/07/2022 07:07

Well I kept all food to plan yest and avoided all the carbs at dinner. but I drank too much wine. Ugh. No scales here but will def be up. Back on plan today though feeling like I could have lots of toast this am.

weekends r def the hardest!

Zott · 03/07/2022 16:22

Same here @Addidas , I drank too much wine last night which led as it always does to a bag of crisps. I went 6 weeks without alcohol but drifted back a week ago. Simple solution is not to have it in the house!

Coffee for breakfast, scrambled eggs for lunch, veg tray bake for dinner again but with a small fillet of salmon.

About to try my two ‘fat’ dresses on. Will report back.

Zott · 03/07/2022 16:41

Looks like long navy Toast sack is my only option. My chickens have come home to roost, except it’s all the bread and crisps.

bikinibottom24 · 03/07/2022 17:25

Finishing today on 900, not ideal but a lot less than I normally have. What day does everyone normally weigh in on?

Addidas · 03/07/2022 17:47

Oh it’s hard @Zott just got to keep going! I did a big excercise session this evening to try combat my behaviour yest!
today I’m on 1000 again. I’m back home so can really focus this week.

I weigh everyday @bikinibottom24 but that’s just me!

Margaretthecat · 03/07/2022 18:36

First official day today. Have read the book and menu planned for the week. I weighed and measured and have a stone or so to lose. All my clothes are tight or don't fit at all! I feel out of control around food so I'm hoping posting will keep me accountable!
I have a holiday in 3 weeks and my first target is 7lb.
I've been catching up on all your successes and tips!
Day one done, just need to avoid the wine tonight (definitely my downfall!)

Zott · 03/07/2022 18:58

@bikinibottom24 I am going to weigh every day too, not sure if that’s the right thing to do but my plan is to use my morning weigh in to motivate me not to start snacking after dinner.

Not sure if there is a set weekly weigh in for the thread? Like you I am new.

@Margaretthecat you are so right to lose now while it’s just one stone. Wish I had.

bikinibottom24 · 03/07/2022 19:03

Welcome @Margaretthecat I think 7 pounds in 3 weeks is really realistic and do-able. It can be tough at first. When will be your weigh in day?

bikinibottom24 · 03/07/2022 19:04

Yeah if we could create a weekly weigh in threat that would be great (even if we weigh everyday) maybe we could have a day we say our weekly loss?

Margaretthecat · 03/07/2022 19:15

I'm going to start by weighing daily but will change to weekly if I feel it's derailing me.
Thanks for the welcome 🙂

clare8allthepies · 03/07/2022 19:50

Thankfully the 0.8 pounds gained after my salty kebab meat disappeared overnight taking another 0.6 with it making exactly one stone down!

A change of plans meant I had to take my eldest and her friend into town this afternoon so I grabbed a few snacky bits before we left and had a black coffee while watching them scoff McDonalds. A sort of bbq this evening, had a bunless burger and salad with a few chicken tikka bits for dinner.

After 4 weeks I’m totally not bothered about sweet things, dished the kids up bowls of ice cream just now (Ben and Jerry’s too) without batting an eyelid. I do have a few wistful thoughts about bread but nothing too bad but Oh. My. God. do I want a bloody drink! I think I’ll stick this out for another 3 weeks until the kids finish for the summer and then I might switch to 4:3. Going to remeasure in the morning to see how much of a difference there is.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Zott · 03/07/2022 20:31

@clare8allthepies well done on losing a stone, I am feeling inspired! I gave up alcohol for 6 weeks recently, I am a Sauvignon blanc drinker. I did not find any decent wine substitutes but if you like gin you could try Gordon’s AF gin (0% in a green bottle), it sells at £12 - £14 a bottle. It’s not as good as gin but it’s the closest I’ve got to a grown up drink I enjoy having tried lots of AF drinks. Calories are low too.

I have had a word with myself and have decided to just take it 7 lbs at a time. I know that’s not a new idea but I have been psyching myself out with dwelling on I have 2+ stone to lose, it’s mainly tummy and I am in my 50s doom and gloom.

Addidas · 03/07/2022 20:35

@bikinibottom24 I’ve been writing my sats on a Thursday atm on here but it’s a good idea for us all to have a weekly weigh in report! What about wednesday(enough time to undo weekend !?)

Tmrw I’m sure I’ll be up after this weekend at friends. But I’ve planned my week food and it’s all coming in at 900ish…

FairyCakeSprinkles · 03/07/2022 20:47

I also tend to weigh everyday but Monday is my 'official day' as I started on a Monday.

Had the Parmesan chicken goujons for dinner from the red book. They were soooo nice. Nicest thing I've eaten so far.

bikinibottom24 · 03/07/2022 20:54

@adidas @FairyCakeSprinkles @Zott @clare8allthepies Happy to have an official weigh in wednesday if you guys are?

Zott · 03/07/2022 21:05

@bikinibottom24 yup, fine with me.

FairyCakeSprinkles · 03/07/2022 21:07

Yes, that's fine by me. I can't promise I won't have week by week reflections on a Monday too though!!

Addidas · 04/07/2022 06:48

Morning . Not stepped on scales yet but plan today
b - yog and berries
l - chicken diced with tomato red onion and tzatziki
d - Portabella mushrooms

i usually do 1000 but I’m going to be under 900 everyday this week because I’ve quite frankly misbehaved at weekend and I have a celebratory weekend this weekend and I know wine and cake will be had!

Addidas · 04/07/2022 07:39

Well I weigh the same from Thursday which is great considering my weekend.
love to loose 3 pounds by sat am?

FairyCakeSprinkles · 04/07/2022 08:12

2.5lb this week which makes me 6lb in two weeks. Frustratingly the scales haven't moved since Friday. The loss is good for me though as I'm a total tortoise.

Did anyone watch Michael Moseley's 'Lose a Stone in 21 Days'? There was a woman on that who lost 9lb when the others all lost over a stone. I'd love to lose 3lb this week to match her loss. Obviously DH had lost double what I have despite us eating the same Hmm

FairyCakeSprinkles · 04/07/2022 08:12

@Addidas, that's good news. You're getting back on it today so sounds realistic.

Zott · 04/07/2022 14:03

Well done @FairyCakeSprinkles , that’s great progress. @Addidas I am going to try and lose 3 lbs by Saturday too. Coffee for breakfast, lunch was one egg and mushrooms, dinner is probably a beef burger and green veg. Going AF again, putting the last bottle of wine out of reach.

clare8allthepies · 04/07/2022 14:56

Well done on the losses everyone. I was down another 0.6 this morning making 14.6 pounds in 4 weeks. Remeasured and I’ve lost 3 inches off my waist although I still have a long way to go there! I got so fed up of hauling my jeans up all day yesterday that I got all of my pairs out of the drawer and tried everything on and fitted into about 4 pairs that I haven’t been able to in ages.

Oh and I just remembered, my BMI is now 24.8 so officially not obese anymore!
