Mine was on Saturday when I went out for a road cycle - hadn't realised it was quite so windy and it was against me for the first 15 miles or so - had been up several decent hills and was about 5 miles from home going along a flat, straight road which is fairly exposed. Reader, it may have been slightly wind assisted but my speedometer reached 30.3mph!!!!! On the flat!!! For a couple of hundred yards!!.
Managed to sustain at over 29mph for several hundred yards! I was SO pleased with myself.

Anyone else got an exercise achievement they want to brag about? Grin

And by the way I found all your achievements very inspiring 🤩 lovely to read.

Flexitarian · 16/02/2022 12:06

I did a full press up this morning! Just the one then I was back on my knees, but progress is progress….

Stellaris22 · 16/02/2022 12:27

Full press ups are hard, so well done! I'm still using a step but making progress.

iloverock · 16/02/2022 21:54

I swam 80 lengths this week.

I first got back into swimming 3 years ago and I couldn't manage 8 lengths front crawl.

LaChanticleer · 17/02/2022 00:20

Couldn’t quite deadlift 100kg the other day but it was fun trying.

Benjispruce5 · 17/02/2022 08:28

Went for a 5k run last night. First run in a year but my 51st birthday looms and want to keep active. I managed the first mile non stop in 10 mins then combined running with short walk breaks and made it back in 35 mins.

LaChanticleer · 17/02/2022 08:43

35 mins is great! I'm pretty fit but I think i'd struggle to do 5k straight under 35 mins ... "Why I prefer Lifting Heavy Shit" no cardio

Benjispruce5 · 17/02/2022 09:12

Thanks but I can’t lift much at all. I think I managed that time because I’d had a couple of coffees in the afternoon! I’m a regular walker though so I think that helps.

So many amazing achievements here and such a wide variety too! Congratulations everyone! My big achievement today was actually getting my lazy backside out of bed at 4.30am and into the gym when all I wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep! Grin I do feel better for going though!

Nailed my headstand in yoga

Chely · 21/02/2022 13:44

It's half term so I got my 16 year old to join me in the gym. Had her deadlifting 50kg which is over 80% of her bodyweight, hoping to raise all 6 of ours to be lifters.

Oh well done! When I started circuits I could do one press up - after a year, I could do six in one go which was damn good progress. Keep going!

Reading these is lovely and inspiring Flowers

LaChanticleer · 23/02/2022 18:50

I think I am broken. I did a sled EMOM (every minute on the minute) 10 metres there & back (20 m) 10 times with a weight of 100kg + sled (around 40kg). The last 3 were utter hell.

But I did it.

Back to deadlifting today - 5 sets of 3 at 85kg. My body loves deadlifting!

What an amazing thread.

I started back at bootcamp after a 2 year gap. We do a fitness test once a month, we track ourselves so we can try to improve each month. I only went and won the plank challenge! Out of 30 people, so I was well chuffed. And quite shocked.

My goal is to run around the field twice without stopping, I can't seem to get my breathing right. But initially I could only just get round the field once, so baby steps. I'm really not a runner but did 1 and 3/4 of the field this week. Hopefully by next week I'll reach my 2 lap goal 😊

I'm the world's slowest runner and only took it up five years ago. I tried couch 2 5k so many times but the run-walk never worked for me. I read on a blog that most people just go too fast and I strongly believe this and it's my top tip. The first time I ran for any length of time I just plodded soooo slowly. Stubbornly kept on going even though I was actually just sort of staggering at a pace slower than I could walk. I told myself that I could end it any time I wanted but I wasn't to walk I had to 'run'. I managed 35 minutes that first time. Now I'm a smidge faster (but not much) and regularly run for 45-70 minutes at a time. I've never done longer but I actually am fairly sure I could. I have the opposite of a runners' physique- short legs and pear shaped and currently a size 14. But I love it. I hope this helps someone.
xsquared · 26/02/2022 17:44

I don't cycle very often to get from A to B as I prefer to walk. Today, I cycled back from town and climbed the two steep hills back home without dismounting and wheeling it up like I usually do.

My main form of exercise is running and I believe it's my increased fitness that has helped me climb the hills today.

blobby10 · 27/02/2022 12:41

So many fantastic achievements here! Mine for this week is that I’ve cycled 92.5 k my lies over three days 😁my summer target is 100 miles per week so to do 92 on this weather is ok as far as I’m concerned! 😎😎

blobby10 · 27/02/2022 12:42

That should, of course read cycled 92.5 miles- nothing to do with k and my lies 🤣🤣🤣

Can now do both headstands in yoga

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 05/03/2022 18:28

60 mins high intensity cardio today. 15 mins elliptical and 45 on the treadmill. I actually got organised and brought my headphones and the difference in my motivation was phenomenal. I like hard house and it was so much better listening to that than the drivel on the gym speakers. I was also far less focused on the timing and just upped my speed to a sprint when the track built up and went back to fast hill walking when it broke down. Enjoyed it immensely and burned 400 cals.

Natsku · 05/03/2022 18:32

Restarted Ringfit after having Covid. Only managed 5 minutes the first day, 10 the second, but yesterday I felt my stamina starting to return and managed half an hour.

wingscrow · 05/03/2022 19:03

My last horse riding lesson: I did not fall when horse went a bit 'mental' and lost his balance...:)

gingerhills · 05/03/2022 19:09

Nothing in comparison with all these achievements, but I moved up form 8kg to 10kg handweights this week and it felt like progress after a post-Covid plateau.

IsThisNameTaken · 05/03/2022 19:14

My yoga teacher actually complimenting me on one of the poses today - she's a fantastic teacher but is very 'direct' in her corrections usually and it was nice to get something right!

Stellaris22 · 06/03/2022 14:44

Doing my first outside run instead of the treadmill. It's definitely easier to get to 5km outside than in the gym, but I felt it was much more intimidating as I don't know the etiquette (I gave people a wide berth as I didn't want to be annoying).
