All ye fine runners who wish to get together to discuss running-related topics, or otherwise, come and join us here. We are a friendly and incredibly supportive group of runners, varying in ability, but all bonded together by a common theme of loving running, committed to squeezing it into our busy lives and wanting to improve our own PBs. So whether you are a full-time mum, part-time working mum, full-time working mum, working from home mum, mum who is studying, or even a dad Grin, add your race to the list so you can be sure of some moral support and advice along the way. And if you aren't racing, don't worry as you can enjoy the race reports and race vicariously.

Moshi wishing you all the best for your move, it's gone so quickly.

fanny I too have had a couple of crappy runs, last night I struggled doing 3 miles! Just sat on the sofa just now and having awful palpitations which I always get when I'm low on iron - so that explains it.

Christmas? What's that then? I've just had my online shopping delivered but it's all the bulk boring stuff, dog food and washing powder. No Christmas shopping done yet! - although what always happens is that my parents and inlaws ask what the dcs want, ask me to buy it, and I end up wrapping it too Hmm. in fact I normally buy and wrap the presents to myself!

orange hope you feel much better soon.

running that's lovely, it's moments like that that you remember Smile.

orangeLFDThead · 13/12/2011 22:05

Ah thats sweet running. Ds2 is a bit like that, although a bit worring as he is always trying to give all his money away to random people. However ds1 sounds a bit more like yours fanny Grin

bonkersLFDT20 · 13/12/2011 22:06

Happy Christmas Moshi
You'll get there and it will be wonderful.

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 13/12/2011 22:06

Moshi hope your moving is going ok. When are you heading off?

Feeling like my stress levels are going through the roof here due to work stresses and the Xmas leadup. Now I have discovered our washing machine isn?t working properly. Then an hour ago, heard DS on the monitor coughing, went up to investigate and found he had been sick in the cot. He seemed ok once I?d cleaned him up, but very sad and pathetic. Tried putting his soggy sheets on for a wash but the fucking machine definitely isn?t working and I?ve now done my foot in by kicking it. Fuckity fuck's sake.

Sorry, all very mememe. I need a punchbag for Christmas

orangeLFDThead · 13/12/2011 22:07

That sounds like a productive day bonkers

orangeLFDThead · 13/12/2011 22:08

oh cherry here have Wine

AngeChica · 13/12/2011 22:11

evening all. been off message and off colour for a couple of days. Had vile tummy bug for 24 hours and was banished to bed all day Sunday. I had 2 pieces of toast in the evening. Hate missing my fodder! DH doesn't want it, plus is a teacher & taking sick in the last week of term is a pain as he would need a sick note etc. Had morning off yest for Christmas shopping managed some porridge, but could not face Metro Centre so did it all at an out of town retail park thing.

I have a job interview tomorrow for a secondment that would actually be a big promotion, though should I get it I would negotiate LTFT or refuse. Am totally going to just wing it & see.

Missed running club mon but will go tomorrow, managed 9 miler on Sat. I saw two rubbers out tonight Xmas Hmm must be a force 8 out there!

belated welcome to alma I wasn't running at all 6 months ago but now doing 20 miles a week in prep for marathon training ... you will be surprised how quickly you can build it up!

ibby & monkey :(

good luck with the move moshi hope you will be back on offering inspiration soon.

orangeLFDThead · 13/12/2011 22:14

Glad you feeling better ange. Good luck for the job interview.

AngeChica · 13/12/2011 22:16

Virtual kick of your washing machine coming your way cherry it's shit when devices let you down. Hope DS ok.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 13/12/2011 22:17

Aww running, what a lovely post about your DDs Smile

Moshi, hang in there, not long now. Have a brilliant Chrismas, see you on the other side!

monkey, just so sad about your friend. Hope their family is doing ok this Xmas. Yes, will see dad at Christmas. Really glad we are going up, will be so nice to see him and rest of family.

fanny, these slumps are totally normal especially with Xmas stuff going on and all the busy bumblesness! I am not too organised, buy then I don't have much to sort. Having Xmas at PILs, and have got all DD1's presents online just need to wrap them. Hmm guess I should get something for DD2!!!

Hope you feel better soon orange

fannybanjo · 13/12/2011 22:23

Oh rhet what's this I spy... A run on Christmas day?! [shock horror]

Just realised I ain't put my marathon on
Race list. Is that a bad sign?

DebiTheScot · 13/12/2011 22:24

I am such a plonker Blush I counted 25 ish beats in 10 seconds and multiplied it by 10! (then took a bit off as 250 seemed impossible). So that's only actually 150 bpm but that also must be bollocks as it was definitely max! I'll try and count again next time.

rhetorician · 13/12/2011 22:26

it is; just for charity, just a mile. It's fun; you get quality street :o one-handed typing is messing with my verbosity..best wake up dd2 for more milk...

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 13/12/2011 22:31

Sorry guys for whining earlier, realise my problems are small fry in the larger scale of things.

futurity · 13/12/2011 22:31

peach getting slightly better thanks..not so much stabbing pain now but I have the jolly side effect from the pain killers making me feel queazy and bloated..my tummy looks like a ball! Not helped by no exercise at all and eating too much due to being a rubbish patient!

fannybanjo · 13/12/2011 22:32

Grin Debi I'm not sure what's more worrying - the fact that you are a teacher or the fact that you can't work out your heart rate!

futurity · 13/12/2011 22:32

I wondered about the Xmas day run rhet ...Envy about quality street !

fannybanjo · 13/12/2011 22:33

cherry OI WOMAN Moan the fuck away!! Day to day life is hard and sorry you've had a bad day. Even people with awful illnesses get pissed off with broken washing machines!

DebiTheScot · 13/12/2011 22:38

Haha fanny. To be fair my heart was pumping faster than I think it ever has at the time! It is a bit thick though.

Those moments are lovely aren't they running Smile

My Christmas shopping is finished and I've had a huge box of wrapped presents couriered to my parents so I don't have to take anything except clothes and 2 children on the train to Scotland next week. £9 to send 10kg of presents, worth every penny I think (as long as they arrive). Most cards written too.

DebiTheScot · 13/12/2011 22:38

Meant to send Wine and sympathy to cherry too.

rhetorician · 13/12/2011 22:43

have to get at god knows what o'clock to collect dds' dad - will have to take DD1 with me as well

kids' presents bought here. Nothing else. At all...also peach not sure what you buy for a 5 (read 3) week old, although she does have a little santa hat Xmas Grin

fannybanjo · 13/12/2011 22:43

Shit I got mine all wrapped yesterday and DD1 only had a few so late night trip to John Lewis last night resulted in me spending mega dough on overpriced shite. DH not gonna be happy. THEN I came in and spent £85 on Build a Bear website so my mum can bring 3 new bears and outfits to my brothers on Xmas day. They already have about 10 build a bears each. I just can't help it. I think it stems from having very little as a child, I never think mine have enough. That's great Debi re courier. I'd have needed at least 7 boxes... BlushBlush

rhetorician · 13/12/2011 22:44

get up...doh

fannybanjo · 13/12/2011 22:45
