I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Brianstorm, I am noting your absence from this thread.

I am managing every other day at the moment.

I am a new shredder (did level one of day one today). I usually hang out on the C25K thread, as I completed that earlier this year.

How on earth do you do day 2? I'm already feeling sore in the arms and legs and can't imagine being able to do it all again in a few hours time Grin

I've just started shredding - L1D6 - and I do a longer warm up (hamstrings especially cos mine are short) and cool down (more quad stretching) and that seems to help.

I do three days a week, and only one of those is a day after the previous one (does that make sense?). That is partly because of how my week works but also because I think muscles need time to adjust and understand what is going on, back in my hill walking days I found every other day really great, two days peak-bagging on the trot my legs were so heavy it was horrendous.

Somewhereelse I feel suitably chastised! I got ill the day after doing my first one again, and thought it was actually my body reacting to the exercise Blush but as it went on for weeks I'm pretty sure the Shred didn't actually make me bedridden!

Have just started again, and just about to go and do Level 1 Day 4 - know I'm still pretty pathetic, but I'm a big believer in the 'it's the getting up and trying again' mentality Grin. Let's see how that works out for me!

Oh, and welcome DownyEmerald, shreddedandnotatallsmug, and YouCantTeuchThis -again?? - I have no advice to give, just support!!

Anyone?? I'm starting again tomorrow with or without support but would love somebody else who is crazy enough to start just before Christmas again to laugh at support each other's efforts Grin

Hi there
Well done for starting again Brianstorm
I have kept going on average 3 times a week throughout the autumn. I don't feel any stronger or fitter. I think you have to do it more often for that. My main motivation is keeping it up at the moment is to not lose the strength and fitness that I gained in the summer as I couldn't bear to start from scratch again. The last couple of weeks not frequent because of extra cooking and socialising.
I have ordered one of the new JM DVDs which should arrive soon so I'll be able to add some variation. Maybe that will motivate me to go back to 5 times a week.
