I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Supersal, I have 'proper' weights but it hurts to put my weight on them. Hurts my fingers more than my stomach or shoulders or any other part of my body I am supposed to be toning.

ledkr · 31/05/2011 18:08

L1 day whatever ive forgotten but i think i will maybe venture onto level 2 tomorrow as i found it a little bit easy today apart from pulling a muscle in my calf jumping rope. I use 2 k weights cos that all i had.
I strangely find the sit ups easy but i am wondering after 5 kids and 4 c sections whether i just dont have any ab muscles to hurt? DD likes to join in but she cant stop talking so i ended up telling her off cos i cant breathe never mind chat.
Does anyone else really sweat,i mean wet face and hair sweaty?

Oh yes, lots of sweating here too.
Ledkr, did you try level 2?
I am about to do level 3, day 7. Then I'll be having a two or three day break as away for the weekend.

Well i just did day one level 2.Its very hard but some of it i found easier mostly the cardio which is weird. I use 2k weights btw. Feel quite pleased with myself-psst didnt do the plank as i have had boob surgery and have to watch the strain on my pecs and shoulders.I replace it with something else. Oh yes and did do the Nathalie versions of some of it like the skater

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 03/06/2011 10:21

I did day 1 of level 2 yesterday. Bloody hell. Trying to hold the positions was the toughest bit. I am a clumsy mare by nature, so balancing on one leg while doing bicep curls was challenging. And plank jacks are evil beyond all measure.

Chickens Grin who invented plank jacks ffs? I ache like mad today esp in my c section scar so have had a day off and also have a hangover, obviously worse than yours super sal, I was still on the bar dancing in mens shoes at 3am Blush and i have pils here to so no shred time.

Othersideofthechannel · 06/06/2011 06:00

Good Morning!
I hope those hangovers have worn off.

Day 23 of Shred. I did level 1 today to ease myself back in after a 3 day break but with heavier weights on some of the exercises. (Funny how before I started doing this, I would consider exercising every 3 or 4 days as quite good goingl!)
I have now done at least 7 day days on each level and am going to mix them up until the end of the 30 days.

SofaQueen · 06/06/2011 12:04

Got the DVD over the weekend, as well as my weights. I watched it once so I knew what to do, but have yet to do it. My plan is to do it right after I put the kids to bed - hopefully I will still be motivated enough to do it.

ledkr · 06/06/2011 12:32

I cant do it at night-no energy at all.
Just did day 2 level 2 as had weekend off as ab muscles really hurt but felt the same as after section so was cautious. Cant do the twisting plank jacks at the end tho, found the cardio much easier but the plank things awfull,i did some Nathalie too, skater and high knees I did this aftger being up since 5 with an annoying baby who wouldnt go back to sleep until the minute i got up grrrrrrr

I heard other people say L 3 was easier than L 2, i was almost looking forward to it.

Othersideofthechannel · 06/06/2011 21:14

I don't think it's easier but the jump from 1 to 2 is way worse than the jump from 2 to 3.

Othersideofthechannel · 07/06/2011 05:55

Good Morning!

Day 24 of Shred

SofaQueen, did you get started last night?

ledkr · 07/06/2011 16:32

Othersideofthechannel · 08/06/2011 08:49

I really admire you even attempting this with a little baby ledkr.

I have been using 2 k the whole time that is all i had tho and i did do weights before too.
I didnt do it again today due to 5am start and 2 appointments. I am really missing it tho and cant wait to do tomorrow. I just had abath and i really felt my tummy was smaller and more toned, weighed myself and have lost a few pounds. I eat 2 cakes today tho!! But i was tired and needed the sugar Grin

Othersideofthechannel · 08/06/2011 21:02

I don't think I'll ever be able to do those V raises at the end of level 2 with 2kg weights. (I really struggle with 1kg weights on those)

ledkr · 08/06/2011 22:50

Imust admit i grunt a bit.
